company. nasim aghdam repeatedly aired her frustration online and this may have been the motive for the shooting rampage that injured four people. new policy changes have made it harder for content creators to earn money sparking heated criticism from some creators. nbc's stephanie gosk gives more details. >> reporter: nasim aghdam used youtube itself to rail against the company. >> i'm being discriminated on youtube. >> reporter: law enforcement confirmed that anger drove the 38-year-old to unleash a hail of bullets at youtube's headquarters. so far investigators say there's no evidence aghdam knew her victims. >> it is believed the suspect was upset with policies and practices of youtube. >> reporter: she attacked youtube employees outside eating lunch. repeatedly firing a smith and west on hand gun registered in her name. >> we hear a couple pops. i thought it was like a nail gun or something. >> reporter: three people were

shot before the shooter took her own life. police say aghdam was at a gun range practicing hours before. >> evidence was she was not super proficient. >> reporter: aghdam was a animal rights activist. this was pay 2009 photo protesting the use of pigs during military exercise iz. she lived with her family in san diego earning money in part from four separate often off-beat youtube channels. her father confirmed to nbc news that recent changes in youtube's policy stopped everything. now she has no income. >> my video gets -- >> reporter: according to police, her family filed a missing person's report on monday. >> the parents warned be careful. maybe she's angry at youtube because she has this anger for one year. >> reporter: aghdam drove north to mountain view, 30 miles south of youtube's offices where had he license plate was spotted.

the police department says they found aghdam here asleep in her car nearly 2:00 in the morning. officers described her as being calm and cooperative. she said she was in the area looking for a job, not once did she mention youtube. the mountain view police called the family. her father said she may be heading to youtube. the police did not notify the company. >> there was nothing in those conversations that the officer felt rose to a level in which there was any specific concern or threat to youtube. >> reporter: but aghdam's brother who does not want to be recognized, says the family was worried. >> wanted her to call. they're going to watch her and that happened -- >> reporter: here at youtube headquarters, employees are back at work although not in the building where the shooting took place. as for the victims, two out of the three have been released from the hospital. the third has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. philip, back to you. >> good news there. thank you, stephanie. >> a group of migrants headed to the united states have been

stopped outside mexico city. mexican officials forced hundreds of central american migrants off a freight train as they may their way north. they were a break away group from a caravan president trump warned about earlier this week. this coming just ahead of mr. trump signing a proclamation deploying the national guard to the southern border to combat illegal immigration. but questions remain, including how many troops will be deployed and what exactly they'll do once they get there. nbc's chris pollone is on capitol hill for us. good morning to you, chris. >> reporter: good morning, richard. you know, this really still is a plan that is a work in progress. even though yesterday the homeland security secretary said she hoped to have some national guard troops in place by today. as you well know, the president this week has been tweeting and talking tough about immigration, calling u.s. border security and immigration laws weak. he's been unable to get congress to fund that border wall, also the mexican government has refused to pay for it. so, the president on tuesday

surprised some aides even when he said that he would be sending the military to the border. now, in recent months in the early part of this year, arrests at the border for people trying to cross illegally have surged a little bit in the homeland security secretary said that's part of what's driving this. >> i think what is true is the president is frustrated. he has been very clear that he wants to secure our border. he's been very clear that he wants to do that in a bipartisan way with congress. i think what you're seeing is the president taking his job very seriously in terms of securing our border and doing everything we can without congress to do just that. >> reporter: now, what we do know is that the national guard by law is not allowed to arrest or process immigrants. what they will mostly be doing is supporting the border patrol as a sign of force and also helping with surveillance. but at this point, even with some troops supposedly possibly on the move this morning, we don't know what states are

involved, how much this will cost or how long it will be. richard? >> alrighty, live on the hill for us, chris pollone, appreciate it. >> delta airline says online hackers could have accessed customer payment information and even made fraudulent charges last fall. according to delta, the company that provides their online customer support 24/7 a.i. reported a major cyber breach that left clients exposed from september 26th to october 12th. federal law enforcement did forensically confirm this time line and delta says it will make sure customers aren't held responsible if they recognize suspicious charges. this unauthorized access affects delta and many other major companies including sears and k-mart. customers can go to delta.com/response any time after noon today for additional information. >> we've got a new big number for you. facebook now revealing data for as many as 87 million people may have been, quote, improperly shared with data analysis firm cambridge analytica. it's the first time facebook has

identified how many people had their data accessed. the figure much higher than the initially reported 50 million users that were compromised. this announcement comes as company ceo mark zuckerberg prepares to testify before congress next week. nbc's miguel almaguer has more. >> reporter: facebook says the personal data of up to 87 million people mostly in the u.s. was improperly shared with cambridge analytica. tens of millions more than previously thought. the privacy scandal connected to the 2016 election a breach of trust. the fallout forcing facebook ceo mark zuckerberg to now testify before congress next week for the first time. he spoke to reporters by phone. >> it's not enough just to give people a voice. we have to make sure people are not using that voice to hurt people or spread disinformation. >> reporter: zuckerberg taking full responsibility, saying he's the best person to run his company, trying to reassure users and the company's shareholders.

sometimes you just have to play through the elements. the snow isn't stopping this guy from getting in a few rounds. jeff roscoe posted this photo of him golfing in the minnesota snow using a water bottle as a tee, probably froze. it went viral getting over 280,000 views. he said tough conditions out here in minnesota but it's masters week so it will take a lot more than a little snow to keep me from enjoying a few rounds. yeah. i lived in maine and i remember when the masters was on, i don't care, i'm playing golf. i played in some snow, too. so, the snowfall forecast just won't stop. we have two storms. one little one that's going to go through the northern great lakes, little light snow in northern new england. bigger snow in northern. rapid city with decent snow and look, west virginia, areas from d.c. to baltimore, philly, watch out saturday. but the challenge remains the same.
