to san martin, slowing into morgan hill. over here this is the fremont camera. back to you. >> thanks, mike, 6:01. developing this morning, a shocking discovery for people in a small east bay city, investigating the first homicide in three years. this happened in the middle of the day near a high school. bob redell is live. what happened here? >> reporter: well, good morning marcus. as you mentioned, this is just a few blocks away from albany high school. we did put the map together to give a better sense where we're ago. 600 block of masonic avenue. along the greep way that runs underneath the b.a.r.t. tracks. it was around 11:30 yesterday morning, a police received a 911

border this morning, hundreds of migrants arrived at the u.s. border seeking asylum. they traveled to the u.s. in so call migrant caravan, only 400 arrived. they were greeted by supporters on both sides of the wall. the president has promised to bar them from endering the u.s. calling them a threat. and this morning, their future is uncertain. >> babies crying and mothers crying. it's simply unacceptable that the united states government should allow this to happen. u.s. immigration lawyers are offering free legal help for the migrants. >> if you head down to pask pacif pacifica beach you'll see signs from a weekend trip that became a big bomber for those on board. all four made off safely.

they are just inspecting the bridge. pete suratos is live at the bridge to explain what's going on here, pete. >> reporter: good morning, you'll see crew members repelling from the golden gate towers down to the sidewalk and what they are expecting if there's any erosion with the bridge. inspecting the area that could be in need of some repairs. if this sounds familiar, we saw it a few years ago with a little bit different but this is video from back in 2015. you had crews working to inspect the underside of the bridge and they are going to kind of do more of the same this week starting this morning where they are assessing the condition of the steel on the golden gate bridge. now what's going to be happening as inspections are going on, they'll install scaffolding on the sidewalks around the towers to protect people passing below and if you're a bicyclist and being asked to dismount and walk by sickles around these towers and want to point out workers

trading on friday. the company started trading on the nasdaq. the stock rose more than 30%. docusign let's you sign documents remotely so that's exactly what they did. the ceo signing his name on a tablet. the company is hardly a start up, almost 12 years old. san francisco company hacker one is getting ready to hack the government legally. it's the team of hackers waiting for congress to pass a bill called s dif 1281 or hack the dhs. it passed the senate and needs to pass the house, it would make it legal for good guy hackers to test defenses of the dhs. >> and there are hundreds of thousands of hackers who want to do good and know how to break in. if you let them break in first, nobody else can break in after that. >> the defense department has a similar program called hack the pentagon. tesla set to report its financials on wednesday. there's serious question as to how much longer that company can

coming over the hills, we're going to go to willow gren, our temperature trend shows a partly cloudy sky through about 2:00 then it will be all clears with highs reaching in the mid-60s, normally we're at 71 degrees but we won't quite be there yet. as you look at the seven-day forecast we'll have warmer air throughout the week. let's go to livermore for a school day forecast, walking the kids to school we'll be at 50 degrees and see clouds rolling by. as we get out for recess the see the sun peeking out and by the time you pick them up, low 60s and as we go for a jog, a cool start and more comfortable by 9:00 or 10:00 and 67 degrees at 1:00 today. as we look at all of the high temperatures for the afternoon, los gatos up to 67 degrees, breezy too for the east bay. winds coming in from the west at about 10 miles per hour, low 70s

pleasanton. no major problems through livermore. castro valley looks great. good recovery after the earlier crash on 238 and of course hayward union city and 880 shows a slower drive past the san mateo bridge. past the coliseum looks great as well. flashing lights on the shoulder, a little distraction but folks are getting by just fine. no lanes blocked north of the tail lights and south with headlights down towards 92. if you're going north to the bay bridge toll plaza, you have metering lights on. here's san jose, silicon valley, a build a little bit right here, north of 680 and slowing around the capital expressway. there's still that crash on 156 that's affecting folks from hollister but for most of our viewers they won't even go in that area. >> 6:19. coming up next, we're hearing from the family of the young boy stuck under water for almost eight minutes at a hotel pool. >> it's just a miracle i think.

on roads already stuck in the commute hours. a michigan family talks about their they aerrifying experience easily could have killed their child. instead miraculously he survived. here's surveillance video that may make you squirm, it shows a life and death struggle after two boys opened a grate at the bottom of a lazy river pool in south carolina. one boy became trapped by the suction pipe and he was under water nearly eight minutes before the first responders shut the pool pump off and pulled him to safety. >> it's just a miracle, i think it's when the people that helped him at the pool and hospital. >> and first responders say the boy likely owes his life to a quick thinking rescuer who jumped in and gave him under water mouth to mouth resuscitation. that boy is out of the hospital and doing well. the full interview airs a little later on today.

we'll warm up over the next few days. here's a look again live in san jose as we can see the clouds and we kill see a mix of sun and clouds in campbell and upper 40s through 8:00 and 57 degrees at 11:00, we're heading in the mid-60s lower that be normal, as we look at our inland forecast, 65 today, 78 on friday and even 80 on saturday. we'll talk about the weekend forecast as we go into the next few days and it stays dry and mike, you're taking us through the morning drive in dough co-county. >> we're looking at the area north of concord as a reference for those not familiar with the area. a couple of minor crashes in the east bay and we'll chep on the east bay. look at things jamming up towards concord avenue. a crash and number of cars blocking left two lanes as you head south passing highway 4 where the jam up happens. and that's holding folks in that

area. out of bay point, minor slowing and that traffic held up may be making things lighter through walnut creek interchange. as we look at the approach to the bay bridge, these travel times are fine, not even a half hour from highway 4 to the backup at the bay bridge. we have that and have a little build heading west -- west 580 through dublin and nice smooth flow to the dublin interchange. >> thanks, mike. 6:31. new this morning, an apparent joyride ends in a crash in the south bay. morgan hill police say it started when the teenagers took off with a van from live oak high school. kris sanchez joins us with how police were actually tipped off about this illegal stunt. it was kind of interesting, kris. >> reporter: hi, laura, yeah it was a busy night for parents. several families reported their daughters missing only to find out they were on that joyride

with an under age driver and it started here at live oak high school but take a look at this scene where it ended. this is where a van crashed into light pole at a fire hydrant four miles away from where we are this morning. this crash sent a teenage boy behind a wheel and two teenage girls who were passengers to the hospital. when they are cleared from the hospital, the doctors -- doctors will clear them and girls will go home but morgan hill police say the boy will be booked on felony charges of evading arrest and child endangerment. the driver stole that van from live oak high school, drove around town before crashing. at some point during the joyride though, a third teenage girl asked to be dropped off at home. she told her parents and the parents called police about that reported dangerous driving. police spotted the van and tried to pull the driver over and the driver gave chase. officers then tried to pit or hit the van to try to force the

former girlfriend admitted she lied about the ordeal. this is video from a previous court appearance. an attorney for ee list is a she's she made up the story he punched her and dragged her by her hair in february because he had broken off their relationship. she claims that the injuries are from a previous fight with a woman and she has video of that fight. foster still faces multiple charges including possession of an assault weapon. >> a gunman shoots a man inside a local bowling alley this weekend and police are searching for him. witnesses captured the chaos on camera, shooting happened saturday at classic bowling center in daly city, there was some sort of fight before the shooting. you heard it there. police worked through the night to track down the shooter but had no luck. >> we've had incidents at the bowling alley before, having a shooting there is a rare occurrence. it's something we're using our resources to solve. >> police say they are checking surveillance cameras in hopes of identifying the suspect. >> a disyou shalling scene in the middle of oakland.

front-runners met for a debate last night. this was in fresno, gavin newsom declined an invitation. the candidates are hoping to replace jerry brown in november but first they'll have to make it past the june primary. one of hot topics, high speed rail which would connect san jose to the central valley. i want to use high speed rail as an engine for economic development for fresno and the central valley. >> look at the great industrial powers in the world today, they have high speed rail. i want the united states to always be number one. what california needs is to fix our roads and expand our freeways, if you with a to go anywhere, you can take southwest airlines. >> politicians waste money, i don't do that in the private sector because i don't have to waste and i'm not going to waste it as gofrer. >> the california primary is june 5th. the top two candidates will face off in the general election in

traffic starting to move a little better and may have moved vehicles from the two left lanes but that is an issue for concord and pleasanthill will see a burst of traffic of the on the peninsu peninsula, not bad. that's great. >> yeah. >> that's right. coming off a great weekend, already looking forward to the next. this past weekend was pretty cool around the bay area with only 60s but we're going to warm up over the next few days and have much more of a beach type of weekend. the coast will be at 70 degrees. it's going to be very comfortable there. all of the inland areas heading up to 80 degrees. lots of sunshine and dry weather in the forecast, sunday more of the same. 67 for the coast, the bay at 72 and 76 degrees inland on sunday. if you're thinking already i'm going to santa cruz this weekend, it's going to be very nice, comfortable and upper 60s with breezy winds and mix of sun and clouds. as we take a live look out at

welcome back, before you med out the door, the time is 6:54. sfl we begin in albany where police are investigating the city's first homicide in three years. man was shot along the greenway, a couple of blocks from albany high school. he died at the hospital shortly after. right now police do not have a motive but the trail is expected to reopen this morning. >> developing news on the mexican border, hundreds of migrants from south america arrived at the u.s. border over the weekend. seeking asylum. they traveled in so-called migrant caravans, at one point more than 1,000 people were in a caravan but only 400 arrived. the caravan caught the attention of the white house. the president promised to bar them from entering the u.s. calling them a threat. u.s. immigration lawyers are offering free legal help for the migrants. >> and if you head down to pacifica's beach this morning, there's pretty good chance you'll see the signs from a weekend boat trip that became a
