look at tesla. tesla stocks fell hard. in fact, it's worse day in more than a month. if you watch "today in the bay" on thursday, you knew that was coming. as for jobs, solidly good news. the unemployment rate falls to 3.9% in april. it's not been that low since december of the year 2000. jobs added, 164,000. little fewer than we expected and less than the monthly average. president trump is not tweeted about the new numbers but did tweet a general message early this morning because jobs in the u.s. are doing so well americans receiving unemployment aid is at the lowest since 1973. great. now the president doesn't get to see the jobs numbers any earlier than you do, we expect he'll tweet out about that. speaking of twitter, twitter says you should change your pass word. it says after a bug in the system caused it to store people's pass words in plain text. now the passwords never got out but they were stored improperly.

6:31, almost 6:32. we'll watch the clock change. a little change for san jose, slight build for 101 approaching tully. that's kind of it. hayward hasn't show any problems. a live look the reason for the lighter backup towards the bay bridge, the berkeley curve is so light, not many cars on the roads but the metering lights are still on. approaching the toll plaza for the bay bridge. on the eother side, a nice ligh flow through palo alto. you'll find more congestion just starting foster city and san mateo. back to you, laura. >> thank you very much. 6:32 right now. looking live at the sap center, the sharks playoff run is the talk of the town. the company that owns the team is making headlines this morning for a different reason. suing over b.a.r.t.'s extension to the south bay. we're already hearing from the team this morning. bob redell is live to explain why they are so upset. good morning, bob.
6:33 am
>> good morning to you, laura. the sharks sports entertainment company is upset over how the construction of the b.a.r.t. subway underneath santa clara street will disrumt the events here at the sap center and two, parking. the company does not believe the valley transportation authority which is managing the b.a.r.t. project, does not believe the vta adequately planned to make up for lost parking spots when the b.a.r.t. station is built, which could be a huge problem for thousands who come to the sap center. yesterday afternoon, the sharks sports company filed a lawsuit in santa clara county against the vta, demanding they immediately stop work on this project until it addresses the parking and construction issues. you can see in the statement on the tv screen that sharks say they strongly support the b.a.r.t. project through downtown san jose and they've been pushing vta for two years to work with them on these issues without success. quote, we did not take this
6:34 am
decision lightly, unquote. we did reach out to the v.t.a. and they responded saying they will not be commenting on this lawsuit. you might recall that it was just about a week ago that b.a.r.t. approved the plan to extend into downtown san jose and santa clara using a single bore tunnel instead of double bore. now it's up to the vta to get the $1$1.5 billion to cover the project estimated to run about $4.7 billion. the east bay times points out the timing of this lawsuit is not necessarily terrific for the vta because uncle sam does take into account local opposition when considering whether or not to give out money for projects like this. reporting live here in san jose, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> one to follow. thank you, bob. 6:34. a san jose neighborhood is on the lookout for a possible prowler. take a look here. you can see the outline of the person there. this is really scary for people living in willow glen.
6:35 am
they say this man you see there in the surveillance video was actually trying to peek through a window. the owner of the home said that was his daughter's room and this was happening at 4:00 in the morning on tuesday. neighbors called police. >> within the last few years it's likely the berkeley historic people's park will be less about people and more for certain people as in people who live in brand-new housing there. uc leaders yesterday announced a radical overhaul of people's park. it's of course a park made famous around the world during the free speech movement and still a place where people gather but times have changed. the park is known for petty crimes and protest and a lot of drugs as well. it desperately needs housing. for now the plan calls for a five story student housing facility and apartments to house the homeless. >> commuters listen up, if you like to cut it close, starting monday, three capitol corridor
6:36 am
runs will adjust by five minutes. one train out of auburn will leave five minutes earlier than its current time two eastbound lines will start five minutes later. make sure you check to see how this affects your commute. >> look at this video this morning. a reverse goldilocks some people in north lake tahoe came home to find a bear in the kitchen on top of the kitchen island. the call for help and here's what happened, the guy in the window, that was a deputy, trying to get the animal's attention through the window but the furry bandit was too busy feasting on fruit and bread. he had to go inside and chase that bear out of the house. luckily no one was hurt and the bear i guess didn't really even damage anything. but this is the time of year when the bears come out to play. officers say they wake up hungry and in search of food and you're supposed to lock it away in a bear proof container but what
6:37 am
happens when they get in your house, mike? >> i would think the house -- the structure might squall tie -- >> lock the doors, i've seen them open car doors. >> they knew the spare key was bee neej the mat. no hidden slow downs, great friday drive. we're watching increased volume coming into concord and bay point. no big surprises for contra costa county and walnut xrecree interchange is great. marcus talked about a slight change in your schedule monday for capitol corridor. keep that in mind if you take that from the central valvalley. the golden gate bridge is a beautiful light ride and things will get busier towards midday with a lot of pedestrian traffic as well. folks like to go there. great spots -- >> bucket list for people, to run across that bridge.
6:38 am
>> i'll do it this weekend. >> that's right. we have some great weather for your mom. it won't be all clear and sunny the whole weekend, we're going to keep the comfortable weather and the coast will be at 63 degrees, upper 70s for the inland areas and by the way a comfortable 70 degrees but once again we'll have more clouds mixing in. and then on sunday, slightly cooler for the inland areas and very comfortable but if you're thinking of making it a beach weekend, head's up it's going to be a cool one. only 62 degrees. sure you have a nice warm jacket. cinco de mayo it's going to be great for that. it's going to be mostly cloudy and the sun will peek out in the low 60s and it will be breezy too as we go throughout the day. then we'll wrap up the weekend with silicon valley bikes happening in history park and beautiful weather for that but a touch warmer as we reach in the low 70s in the middle of the afternoon. we'll reach that high temperature at about 2:00. if you're going to the see raer this weekend, this is a live
