he refused to come out. you can see the streets were blocked off. as precaution, after about two hours, police arrested that man. the name has not been released. chp needs help finding a driver. officers say they found a man dead on the side of highway 4 just west of dixler road. police saying they were investigating a mysterious death before the two hours ago they revealed the victim was killed in a hit and run. here's a description of the suspect vehicle. 2002 to 2006. toyota. it should have damage to the right front headlight. >> several neighborhoods evacuated in novato today. it was not an emergency. it was part of a drill. residents wanted to learn about what to do when disaster strikes. christy smith shows us what they

is part of a bigger picture. that bigger picture is statewide mutual aid. california years ago realized the need to work together. teamwork is important to protect the community, but we have to do it the right way. we have a working knowledge and we can reduce the impacts of a small disaster, but we need the help of experts. pg&e is an integral part of our emergency response team. they are the industry expert with utilities. whether it is a gas leak or a wire down, just having someone there that deals with this every day is pretty comforting. we each bring something to the table that is unique and that is a specialty. with all of us working together we can keep all these emergencies small. and the fact that we can bring it together and effectively work together is pretty special. they bring their knowledge, their tools and equipment and the proficiency to get the job done.

and the whole time i have been in the fire service, pg&e's been there, too. whatever we need whenever we need it. i do count on pg&e to keep our firefighters safe. that's why we ask for their help. driving car. police say the google-owned waymo minivan was in manual mode new details about another crash involving a self-driving car. the waymo mini van was in manual mode when this happened. not in autonomous mode as first reported yesterday. investigators say the driver of the other car ran a red light causing the crash. the waymo driver has been hospitalized. waymo is google's self-driving

car spinoff. the safety of self-driving technology has come under scrutiny in light of two crashes. one of them crashed into a safety barrier, killing the passenger. tesla was in auto pilot mode at the time of the crash. we have liftoff. the lander took off from vandenberg air force base. it is headed on a six-month voyage to mars. the mission is to study the deep interior of the red planet. it is the first time nasa has launched a mission from the west coast. the dragon splashed down in the pacific ocean west ofba ha. this is video from this morning when it left the international space station loaded with more than 4,000 pounds of equipment, and experiments. it is the third successful reapply mission to and from the ship. it left the international space

station. look at that video. it will be taken to nasa for analysis. very, very cool. >> the follow-up on the recovery of the east bay rock climber after a bad fall in el cap tan. hans has been flying for more than seven hours thursday afternoon when he fell to about 2,300 feet off the ground. while his harness and ropes caught, he knew something was immediately wrong. we spoke to him a short time ago. >> i looked down at my feet. they hurt like heck. and there's, your legs are 180 degrees straight line and mine was 160 degrees. that's where it meets the ankle bone and i knew then everything had changed. >> it all happened too late in the day for a rescue. he ended up spending the day on that rock before the rescue on friday. he suffered a broken bone in his ankle and heel. he is in good spirits and said he is finding humor in what

days of the weekend started off cool and breezy. 58 degrees, jacket weather for sure. partly cloudy skies. looking at low clouds. and a cool 61 after a high of 71 gress. in case you were wondering, when do we get 90-degree day. last year it was on may 3rd. sometimes kit happen at may 18th. for livermore also, may 3rd, we hit 90 degrees. on average, it comes around may 8. so climate to logically speaking, we should see warmer temperatures. 40s and 50s with some patchy low clouds that may involve a little drizzle again from eight clog in the morning and then mostly cloudy skies. and a slightly warmer finish. we're talking upper 70s for areas south of san jose.

73 downtown. three valley toward concord. in the mid 70s tomorrow afternoon. still cool in san francisco. the seven day forecast in the screen shows the temperatures rising. it will limit the warming as this area of low pressure will bring us a chance of more drizzle. late tuesday into early wednesday. behind that, we're seeing a stronger ridge of high pressure. building all the way from british columbia down through southern california. with that slight offshore breeze, we'll likely see temperatures climb as much as the 70s. inland spots, it may only warm into the low 80s. it looks like we could see mid to maybe upper 80s as we head

i'm april kennedy and i'm an arborist with pg&e in the sierras. since the onset of the drought, more than 129 million trees have died in california. pg&e prunes and removes over a million trees every year to ensure that hazardous trees can't impact power lines. and since the onset of the drought we've doubled our efforts. i grew up in the forests out in this area and honestly it's heartbreaking to see all these trees dying. what guides me is ensuring that the public is going to be safer and that these forests can be sustained and enjoyed by the community in the future.
