this morning we are getting an up close look at the new voting machines. today in the bay we have a look at how it all works. good morning. >> i love election time. i'm very happy to bring you this story. this week election work rs are testing 300 new voting machines they say will process ballots a lot more efficiently and with a lot more manual sorting. let's take a look at them. they may not look like much. in june voters will still vote with paper ball loots. if you live in alameda you already vote this way. it will look familiar to you. this is the first. at the end of the election night the 300 machines will tally a vote count without having to handle all of them by hand. consider the time savings.

>> initially they would skn the ballots in for a more efficient review in seconds instead of minutes that it use today take. they can look and see if you didn't mark it quite right. maybe you spilled coffee on it. maybe you changed your mind after making your mark. >> i had been reading it. >> you should. >> your vote counts.
