>> and we are walking out the door seeing a lot more clouds this morning. so it's kind of a hint that we are in for changes as we go through the day. parts of the bay area may also have a couple of sprinkles but as we go first to walnut creek, we're going to start out in the mid-50s and mix of sun and clouds pretty much all throughout the day and high there only up to 65 degrees. it's going to be cooler than normal. with parts of the south bay reaching up to 69 degrees and 67 in concord. and in santa rosa, expect a high of 63 degrees. san francisco at 60 degrees, we talked about you'll need a sweater as you're getting dressed this morning. as we look inside the closet, a good jacket will also be needed because we do have breezy winds and long sleeves will keep you comfortable throughout the day. we have an early afternoon game at at&t park. first pitch at 12:45 before they hit the road, only making it up to 65 today but with the

4:49 am
addicts could shoot up under trained staff. the idea is controversial and illegal in the u.s. but that isn't stopping san francisco from wanting to become the first city in the nation to open these centers. we travel to vancouver to get a rare look at these sites, addicts are given clean needles and place to use them. that's helped reduce the rate of infection from diseases like hiv and hepatitis c. the centers also have a place to throw away used needles so they don't wind up on streets. san francisco now plans to open two of these supervised injection sites by august. state legislation has been proposed to legalize the centers bults the drug enforcements administration tells us the sites still break federal law. meaning anyone using them or working inside could face prosecution. for now that doesn't seem to be a sticking point for san francisco. you can watch our full investigation by logging on to our website, nbcbayarea.com. >
