6:00 am
"today in the bay." let's get to traffic in just a moment but vianey, it will be a cool start to the morning but should warm up a little bit. >> my word this morning is cloudy and foggy, two words. we're also starting to see some drizzle out there in san francisco. so if you're looking out the window and have drizzle on the windshield, you may have to make you turn off the windshield wipers but it's not going to rain necessarily. 56 degrees for the peninsula. it is nice and mild in the tri valley and there goes the live camera in san francisco, it's 52 degrees, we've got a little breeze in the east bay, you can see the flag waiving there at 54 degrees. check out the north bay at 47 degrees. we are expecting this drizzle to kind of carry out throughout the morning hours and eventually we'll see that start to burn off. i'll talk about your daytime highs running slightly warmer today. it will be all good. let's send things over to mike. >> i'm looking at changes but some are for the better like folks out of tracy, 205 is
6:01 am
jammed up. most of the map, we have green all over this friday commute. but west 205 and west 580 were jammed out of the altamont corridor but that disabled big rig cleared from the lanes. we're looking here towards the bay bridge where the toll plaza itself is backed up and your approach on one side. left side is looking clear. over here not so clear. 580 we're looking for more traffic to come in out of livermore after the rig cleared but we're looking at the smooth drive towards the dublin interchange. that fog may be a factor as you travel up and down the dublin grade through castro valley. other patches like san mateo bridge, you can see low clouds around the bridge itself but drivers are able to see roadway just fine. back to you. >> thank you very much, mike. we're following breaking news out of florida and scare overnight including an active shooter at president trump's national doral golf club in miami. police say a man with a gun walked into the lobby making anty trump statements about 1:30 in the morning.

6:03 am
from behind and ripped the gold chain from her neck. in that robbery, the suspect was described as a white male. on may 5th, while the female victim was pumping gas around 5:00 p.m. at the valero station, the suspect attacked her and ripped the gold chain off her neck. similar incidents happened on the 11th and 16th. the 16th involved a female victim pushing a baby stroller. the suspect had been described as black or hispanic or dark skinned. so at least there are these pictures of one suspect in one of the robberies, the one involving the victim with the baby stroller. take a closer look. if you have any information, call fremont police. and one of the victims also reported seeing a female associate in one of the robberies and a car was used in one of the robberies, so police say the descriptions vary, be alert and report anything suspicious. reporting in fremont, sharon katsuda, "today in the bay." >> the suspect in the deadly crash there expected to return

6:38 am
after 2:00 this morning. firefighters are now wrapping things up. they are starting to decontaminate and head back to the fire houses but this is what they saw when they arrived on scene just four minutes after that initial 911 call. there was a lot of heavy smoke and big flames billowing from the back of the building and the concern here is that because this is an auto parts store, there's a lot of flammable material inside. aerosoles and chemicals and oil and tires can burn from a very long time once they start. firefighters did try to battle the flames very quickly. they did an assessment and did not find anybody inside. at this point it doesn't appear anybody has been injured. but now this morning the concern is over a possible environmental impact because of all of the chemicals inside, we do know there's a city crew that has come up to block the toxic water from going into the drain ways there. you can see it running off here. they had a big sump pump out here and trying to suck the
6:39 am
water off the ground as well. a county environmental health crew is going to be heading out here to monitor the situation as well. the good news is the fire is out and bad news is that the smell is still lingering in the air and if you're headed out for an early morning jog here you may want to rekrout around this area because it is a little stinky, no impact to traffic in the area. in san mateo, chrkris sanchez "today in the bay." >> thank, kris. >> back to breaking news out of texas we told you about moments ago. reports of an accountive shooter at the school just outside of h hu houston. we want to listen into our affiliate covering the situation right now. >> with the area if at all costs. right now 35 at 517 looks okay, closer to the alvin area. surrounding areas look good but 517 is jammed up and highway 6 is at a crawl and shut down. i know that life flight was -- >> okay, it sounds like they are

6:41 am
it's because of that crash. 17 not a problem over the summit, a smooth drive. as we take a live look over here, palo alto, grayer in oakland. low clouds hovering around the camera level. >> all right, mike, well now we want to look at the weekend because a lot of people have activities they want to get to. >> you're saying it's going to be nice for us. >> it is. >> >> we all have things to do. if you're going to be one of those folks heading to bay to breakers, you'll want to know the forecast, bay to breakers on sunday. we'll start off cloudy and keep the cloud cover through 12:00, topping out in the upper 50s and quick reminder today is your last day to register. i believe i saw in the twitter account that they close registration at midnight. you still have a chance to register if you haven't already. if you're heading out to santa cruz for the beach, it's going to be a great beach day. plenty of sunshine on tap.
6:42 am
we'll start off nice and cloudy, it's expected to be in the 50s as you head out there. tomorrow a lot of cloud cover and foggy throughout the monterey area. it's going to be a little foggy all day long. so i would say maybe not the sunniest beach day but at least temperatures lr comfortable. sunday will be a little better in terms of the sunshine, we're expecting sunshine to clear a path nicely at about 2:00, about 71 degrees in napa. i'll send it back to you. >> coming up next on "today in the bay," bpaying more for your commute. the higher tolls across the most iconic bridge. >> the first women director of the cia, we call this trading side ways. the dow barely moving on this friday morning.
