we have to start with you, mike. busy >> as the big rig tow truck arrives, the live scene. our photographer is at the scene. there is the big rig tow truck arriving and it is now trying to hook up. you see these guys in -- and in the orange over here, these are our caltrans crew. this big rig truck is trying to hook up to right there. that is a big rig trailer which was carrying pineapple. that is over on the side and it has to be cleared but one lane opened minutes ago. that is the better news. at least traffic is flowing, the bad news is after that crash, one person does have major injuries taken from the scene. as we look at your map. we're showing this near full closure getting over toward the bridge is constricting traffic and backing up out of rodeo into crockett. and skyway cannot access 880 but pomona can but over toward the smaller street you can get on to the carquinez bridge. and if you are traveling from

the east bay, highway 4 is a winding and longer route and prepare for the delay from the east bay and upper east shore toward solano county. and the bay bridge is not the problem, but it is down here toward the coliseum. 880 had a crash and only lanes open near heggen burger. you see the flyover north toward the coliseum. i should get you out of the way and the back-up to the coliseum. if you are north at 66 or high street, you're okay up to downtown but we're following the crash and the fire there. i'll show you a video coming up. i heard that bob redell -- there is our video there. as we show you this video, again this is the crash on the nimitz blocking 880 but here we have bob redell stuck in the back-up getting up to this pineapple over turned truck. what is it like where you are. >> reporter: the back-up on eastbound 880 is about 15 or 20

minutes and that is how long we've been in it and still a half -- a mile from the scene and but the number one fast lane is open but all of the other lanes are shut down so we have the back-up because of this big rig that was carrying pineapple and over turned and caught fire around 1:30 this morning and we understand the driver was ejected and does have some pretty serious injuries. there is no estimates time yet on when this road will be reopened. we do -- we're right now at the coming skyway off-ramp where we see some drivers getting off and that is not a -- could get on the 80 eastbound. this is reverse commute. so the westbound 80 does look good right now. i don't see too much in the way of looky-loos slowing down traffic. but this could be a problem for people trying to get out of town. trying to get out of -- this is the start of the memorial day weekend. something to keep in mind if you are trying to get out of town this weekend.
