got confirmation the al costa boulevard on the 680 connector, that on-ramp is open and south of there is where we see lane restrictions and that may be a situation for folks traveling past that and getting towards dublin boulevard. overall the speed sensors look all right but with half of the lanes blocked it's going to be a distraction. pete suratos is out there. i hear you just got company. what's out there right now? >> reporter: good morning, mike, we're still in 680 southbound before dublin boulevard. there are still lanes blocked. you still have the big rig right there that will get towed away. as he step out of the live truck, i saw caltrans just showing up. that's good news, they need to clean up the area before they can completely reopen the lanes. let's show you some of the video from earlier. chp says it happened roughly around 2:10 a.m., that big rig i just showed you, there may have

you see down to two lanes and three lanes are coned off and caltrans crews and big rig are right there. the big rig which had the fuel spill. as we get back out to the map, the reason for the slowing towards the area, live sensors show slowing after the earlier traffic break but the dublin interchange is still completely open for service. only a problem out of san ramon and in towards dublin and heading southbound towards pleasanton which is moving well. fre monlt for 880 moves nicely as well. no problem for the nimitz freeway. the backup at the bay bridge starting to form, it's 5:21. we're looking towards the north bay, southbound 101 moves smoothly through san rafael as the sun comes up. you see the silhouette looks like a nice day as well. across the bay, we're looking at westbound really picking up the volume over last 12 minutes from hayward towards the peninsula, little haze in the air but you're fine on the san mateo bridge. >> 5:21 right now, coming up next on "today in the bay," preparing for next emergency, the new money coming to one of
