5:02 am
wheatley of the evergreen teachers association. he tells me there are four different union presidents that are housed out of this building. the fire appears to be burning right above their offices. so that could compromise their operations for today. now, we do know firefighters were able to knock down those fires. the hot spots are out. we did see a construction team here. usually they are showing up with plywood to secure the location. we do expect some of the teachers association folks to be out here assessing the damage this morning. by the way, you heard that really loud rig next to me. this is an unassociated story, but the tow truck had to just tow a fire rig. they had a power steering failure on their way to respond to the fire. they managed to make it here in time but said it was nerve-racking. they knew they needed to be here to put that fire out and at the same time they were dealing with a fire truck that didn't have power steering. you can't steer those without

that. that has been towed away. so questions here at christinta. this impacts evergreen teachers association, san jose teachers association as well. by the way, they have an end of the year party planned for next week. there's a chance they are going to have to move it or perhaps even postpone it. we'll get more details and see you back at 6:00. in shoes, kris sanchez. >> busy morning out there. thank you, kris. to a developing story in san francisco. there are a lot of questions about how a woman's body ended up in a stairwell at sf general. we broke this story yesterday afternoon. in a few hours we could get an update on what exactly happened. marcus. we were hoping to get more details later this morning. what we do know is the body of 75-year-old ruby lee anderson was down here behind me in the stairwell of the power plant building across the street from san francisco general. the big poiquestion at this poi is how she ended up there. we know san francisco sheriff's department issued what they are calling missing persons bulletin for anderson just last week saying she walked away from the behavioral home center at sf general. a week later her body found in the stairwell in front of the building we're standing in front of. it's still unclear how she got there. the department of public health said she was not a patient at the hospital but did receive services on its campus. the sheriff's department said it notified sf about this but did not file a missing persons report. as of this morning there's a lot of questions as far as how this all went down. >> we're very concerned that this happened.
5:05 am
we don't know how the woman gained access to the area she was found and we're looking into that. remember it was just five years ago we had a patient at san francisco general found dead also in of a building, inside of a building on a stairwell. officials say security and search procedures were changed after that deadly incident but those changes likely don't apply to the power plant building. of course all this is still under investigation. hoping to get more details this morning at a press briefing at 10:00 a.m. we're live in san francisco, pete suratos, for "today in the bay." >> thanks so much, pete. 5:05. mysterious sighting. debris from a boat found in pacifica prompted a search by coast guard. someone found pieces of the boat along with clothes and a lifejacket on the beach. the coast guard launched a chopper and ship to try to search for anyone, signs of life. pictures show identifying marks from the vessel with is the
