armed and very dangerous. overnight, police near nashville making an arrest in connection with the cold blooded killing of dixon county deputy sergeant daniel baker. officials charging erica castro myles with first degree murder. accusing her of participating in the killing. they say she is an acquaintance of this man, also a suspect. this morning there is an all out manhunt to find him and they say wiggins should be considered armed and dangerous. investigators say they were investigating a suspicious vehicle report after he failed to check in, deputies tracked his patrol car using gps. video evidence at the scene pointed officials to wiggins. >> we just ask for your help. >> reporter: sheriff jeffrey bledso overcome with emotion. officials say wiggins has a long history of criminal history and vandalism and domestic assault.

it's been a long journey for andrea constand. in april, a second criminal trial ended with a verdict. bill cosby was found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault, as you probably know. while that felt like a victory for some 60 women who have now made allegations against the comedian, the criminal case all centered on the events of one night and one woman. >> reporter: for 13 years, andrea constand hasn't spoken publicly about the night bill cosby assaulted her. in 2004, she was operations manager for the temple university women's basketball program. he was a famous temple alum and supporter. at the time, she was anxious about making a career change and says cosby invited her to his home to discuss her plans. for months, he had been mentoring her. she later testified in court that cosby offered her something to help her relax. >> he had three blue pills in his hand. >> reporter: three blue pills? >> he put his hand out, and i said, what are those? he said, they'll help you relax.

>> no. no, he said nothing. that i could recall. i was in and out of consciousness. >> reporter: you don't remember being able to speak? >> inside, i was so -- i was crying out inside, in my throat, in my mind, for this to stop. i couldn't do anything. >> reporter: andrea says she woke up hours later and knew what had happened. like many survivors, she felt ashamed and didn't tell anyone, because she thought no one would believe that bill cosby, dr. huxtab huxtable, would do such a thing. >> you really feel her helplessness when she is describing what it felt like. all these years later, you still feel that emotion. >> yeah, and the details. after she woke up, she described to me that he brought her breakfa breakfast. he brought a cup of tea and a muffin. she's trying to process what just happened. she drives herself home, takes a shower, had a good cry in the shower, and then she went to work. >> did she eventually tell anybody? >> she did eventually, a fter a

this morning, a new warning from the national insurance crime bureau. it is timely, too. hurricane season officially kicks off tomorrow. we're already seeing devastating storms like this one in maryland, where six inches of rain fell in two hours. then, of course, there is alberto we've been reporting on ravaging florida and traveling all the way up the coast to north carolina, causing flash floods there. this ridsing water posing a hidden danger to cars long after the storms. major mechanical failures that can cause accidents. those cars then sold on the open market, and the owners never tell you. this morning, the tips you need to protect yourself. the images tell the story. cars floating in treacherous floodwaters. last year's storms were especially devastating. during hurricane harvey and hurricane irma, over 637,000 cars were damaged, engulfed by water. some of those cars ended up here in this flooded car graveyard.

just how many? let's show you. we have our nbc drone up. we're going to bring you up and give you some perspective. believe it or not, this is just a fraction of the flooded out cars from hurricane harvey and hurricane irma. these are only the people that turned their cars into their insurance companies. around here, over 60% of the people don't have any car insurance. experts say they could try to resell these flooded cars on the open market across the country without ever telling you there's a problem. >> obviously from all the dirt and debris, this car has been in a major flood. somebody could come along and for a couple thousand dollars, clean it up and sell it to an unsuspecting driver. everything is great intiuntil t electronics go off. this man bought this 2012 chevy silverado for $14,000 from a licensed dealership in texas. the truck looks pretty good from the outside. >> yeah, really good.

almost brand-new. >> reporter: tires look new. >> yup. >> reporter: no sign of water damage. >> these look pretty good. brand-new almost. >> reporter: this is something you'd see on any car lot. let's see inside. i'm curious. it doesn't smell musty or like anything bad. >> yeah. it smells good. >> reporter: the upholstery is fine. actually, it looks new for a used car. did you test drive this before you bought it? >> yeah. test drove it. road nice and smooth. >> reporter: no red flags? >> no red flags. >> reporter: soon, he realized something was wrong. >> these automatic locks don't work. i took it to a mechanic after that. >> reporter: that's when it unravelled. >> went downhill from there. >> reporter: he called our nbc affiliate in houston. >> show me. >> reporter: the station brought the car to two independent mechanics for a full inspection. >> this has been spray painted. this was probably all rusted out, and they tried to cover it up. >> this is wet.

it's damp. >> reporter: the national insurance crime bureau ran the vin number and, turns out, this car was in florida during hurricane irma. this car was in a storm in florida and ended up here. >> yeah. it ended up in texas somehow. >> reporter: this could impact anybody across the country buying a car right now. >> it could happen to anybody. >> reporter: how can you tell if you're buying a flood car? experts say there are telltale signs. >> be on the lookout for condensation. >> reporter: in the lights? >> it's had water in there, yeah. >> reporter: he says there are other clues, too, that a car was underwater. like rust or corrosion on the engine. brand-new upholstery in a used car. or sand and dirt in unusual places. like deep under the seats. too late for kenton, now stuck with this. you don't drive this car, do you? >> i don't drive it ever. it's too dangerous. >> reporter: after i spoke with kenton, i went to the dealership that sold him the car. the manager says they want to do the right thing. the dealership sent an inspector

to examine the car. despite what the independent mechanics found, saying it was a flood car, the dealership says they found no evidence of flood damage and hasn't refunded his money. kenton telling us he is planning on taking the dealership to court. >> that stinks. >> thanks, stepjeff. how about a check of the weather? >> hopefully your car didn't get flooded out. we are watching strong storms out of nebraska, heading into missouri and oklahoma. in fact, we have a risk from the dakotas. also, enhanced risk stretching from missouri all the way into parts of indiana and kentucky, as well. as this system pushes to the east, we have abundant moisture streaming up from the gulf. there is an isolated risk of flooding, tornadoes possible, but mostly strong storms with this front. we're looking from areas in the northeast all the way to the ohio river valley, with flood watches until 2:00 a.m. friday, including baltimore and

this morning on today wellness, reducing your chances of developing alzheimer's disease. >> something going on back here. more than 5.5 million people suffer from dementia in this country. while there is no cure yet, there is hope. maria shriver is here with important tips for us. >> movement. good morning. also, june is brain awareness month. most people think of alzheimer's as an old person's disease. doctors say it can start formulating in your brain as early as your 30s. now, we have a list of lifestyle changes that you can make today

that experts say could cut your risk for this disease. >> reporter: every 65 seconds in this country, someone is diagnosed with alzheimer's. a disease that robs you of your memory and identity and kills more people than prostate and breast cancers combined. while there is no cure, experts say there are steps you can take right now that may reduce your risk. >> one out of three cases of alzheimer's may be preventable if that person does everything right. >> reporter: neurologist richard isaacson runs the country's first alzheimer's prevention clinic, treating younger people at risk for the disease decades before symptoms occur. in the past, people were focused on alzheimer's at the end of life. you're saying, millenials, focus on alzheimer's. >> yup. >> reporter: now. >> we have an amazing window to intervene. 20 to 30 years is amble time to make brain-healthy choices, to do something proactively to protect the brain. >> reporter: protective step number one, do regular,

intensive exercise. >> exercise can protect against alzheimer's because it not only increases blood flow to the brain, but it loosens up the plaque that is stuck in the brain of someone with alzheimer alzheimer's. >> reporter: the best exercise is at least three hours of rigorous activity a week. ideally, 2/3 cardio, 1/3 strength training, depending on your body type. >> exercise absolutely is the number one thing a person can do on a regular basis to reduce their risk for alzheimer's disease. >> reporter: step number two, get at least 7 1/2 hours of quality sleep a night. that's when the brain can clean out those damaging plaques. >> just like work, like life, you have to approach sleep with a plan. turn off the electronics. no bright lights from the screens. no texting. no e-mails. have a quiet, dark room. clear your mind. >> reporter: step three, eat right and eat less.

experts say the best brain diet is high in anti-inflammatory restorative foods, like leafy greens, whole fruits and vegetables, and good fats like olive oil and salmons. >> when people are eating processed foods and sugar, it'll be pressing the fast forward button on the plaque development in the brain. >> reporter: less food is more. consume under 2,100 calories a day. after dinner, try waiting at least 14 hours before you eat again. that leads to step number four. get your blood levels checked every year. >> having high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes is a way toward alzheimer's disease. we don't want to do that. we want to slam on the brakes. know your blood pressure. know your fasting blood sugar. know what your cholesterol is. >> reporter: acupuncture, daily meditation, even socializing and laughter can boost your brain. make sure work doesn't run you ragged. >> every 4 1/2 years of work

stress adds an extra year of brain aging. work is stressful. maybe i need to do something differently. otherwise, i'll have bad outcomes on the brain. >> maria, we'll put our money where our mouth is. you have an effort called move for minds. >> we started move for minds with equinox sports clubs. it'll go throughout the month of june. this is exercising not just your body but also your brain. you have to remember what they're doing. >> what is happening here? this is more my speed. >> the key, this is social and exercising your brain. chess, card games. very important. we also know that socialization isolation increases chances of getting alzheimer's. this puts you in community and makes you remember things. we have to begin to think of our brain much like our triceps. they're things we can do. >> work it out. >> you have to challenge it, whether you're using computer games that also exercise it. we have a game for that. whether you're doing this
