8:45 am
you. then there's, you know, micro ones. then there is -- one of my favorite things about what's happening in this moment is that a lot of us are looking at the language we use to choose, becoming more conscious about it. maybe someone thought it wasn't a big deal to say to a 16-year-old -- what happened to me -- congratulations, you got the part. you can't gain more weight. maybe they thought they were giving good advice. now, 20 years later, i'm able to say, i think that could have been done more consciously and loving. it left me feeling confused. i think we're all learning how to communicate. maybe not all of us. a lot of us are taking up this opportunity to become more conscious and more loving in the way we communicate with each other. more compassionate. >> this movie happens to hit -- >> not daphne. >> yeah. >> she's not that. >> this movie is hitting at the perfect time for women. we're so happy for you. >> thank you. >> thanks for coming to see us. >> so good to see you. we figured out how to sit.

8:53 am
exercise. >> my dad did a crossword puzzle every day. >> the other thing that is really important is some people think, this is hard. i want to give up. when you're challenging your brain, when it is hard, that's when your brain is getting in shape. >> this effort is going global. >> throughout the month, you can join us at four locations. you can raise money for brain research. particularly for women. women are 2/3 of the cases. we're trying to understand why that is. we want to get people moving. >> excellent work. maria shriver, thank you so much. head to today.com/wellness. we're back in a moment. thank you, folks. thank you, chess and card players. we're back in a moment. this is "today" on nbc. >> they're going more. get
