road, traffic was slowing down when the driver of a black dodge according to chp apparently fell asleep at the wheel and hit a white toyota kroel la at a high rate of speed. corps role la crashed into a gray ford. the 8-year-old who died of injuries was in the white corolla. we're told by chp, they do not believe alcohol or drugs were a when we're talking about sleepy driving, they say one in five fatal accidents each year is caused by sleepy driving. reporting live sharon katsuda "today in the bay." >> our other topeaancio's missi. police are looking for a suspect in both. >> the double shooting that happened around 2:00 in the afternoon oe that was at mission and santa rosa avenues, 34-year-old vanessa palm ma was killed in the shooting. then about two hours later there

"today in the bay's" sergio quinn tan na has more. >> several shots were fired near cesar chavez in the mission district. police found a man hit by gunfire. >> they found the victim here and rendered aid and got an ambulance and they were transported to the hospital but that person unfortunately died from their injuries. >> at general hospital, two other men arrived in private vehicles enrique baretto saw when they came on campus and says one of th m came different cars and i think they found weapons and stuff like th >> according toan workers at th hospital who spoke to me off camera, there were weapons in one of the vehicles. we saw one man standing next to this black bmw suv get taken into custody.

79 degrees in palo alto and 64 in san francisco. getting a look outside in san francisco, you're getting dressed standing in front of the closet, it's a wear short sleeves and shorts. you need a light jacket early and then later it will be nice. if you've been sneezing around, we do have a high amount of grass pollen so if you're allergies are bothering you now, it's grass, everything else is pretty low. if we look at what's happening regionally, we have a trough bringing rain across the pacific northwest. head's up if you'll be travel there will be rain through parts of the washington and oregon and very far north california but as we look at our weekend, it's going to be slightly cooler as a result of those clouds moving in tomorrow. and for the inland areas it will bring it down to 75 degrees. we're back up as the system moves out of here and getting
