up today. we start out with low to mid-50s but there are cooler spots like the north bay where it's in the upper 40s now. we go from 64 at 8:00 to a fast warm-up to 81 by noon. we continue to go up until the upper 80s this afternoon, eventually hitting 89 degrees in concord. antioch 91 degrees. 90 in santa rosa and san jose expect a high of 85 degrees. we'll talk about the hottest day this week actually coming in tomorrow and the numbers then. mike, you've got another problem on the bay bridge. >> potentially. we hear about another crash on the bay bridge. i do see berkeley curve which i was going to show you moving nicely but it started to back up. they may have slowed metering lights down once again. a new crash reported and it may be blocking your slow lane as you head through the treasure island tunnel. i'll check on that once the bridge crew or chp gives me verification. just reported by someone who called in to chp but we see

sensors reflecting that. upper east shore way is slow and earlier crash may have a little activity on the shoulder but no major problem or lanes blocked and highway 4 at mccue en, the other issue for contra costa county. the rest of the bay moves nicely. mild slowing for the south bay. no problem for the peninsula. a second burst of traffic, that's not kicked in. we'll track it. back to you, marcus. >> 6:02. dub nation still smiling this morning for the third time in four years. the warriors are nba champions and the bay area already in celebration mode. that big victory parade is happening tomorrow on tuesday and it's going to impact your commute whether you're going to the parade or not. crowd when you're out here on 19th street and broadway where we're standing and you've got some of -- they'll use these to barricade the streets because folks will be lined up along broadway streets. but if you're using b.a.r.t., one of the stations you'll want to stop at is here at 19th street in oakland. it will be one of the stops the parade will be happening way down there starting at 11th and broadway but i want to give you guys important information, especially for viewers going to use b.a.r.t. to get here to the parade. one of the stations was the one i showed awe 19th street. you also want to get off at 12th street if you're going to participate or check out the warriors championship parade. busiest times will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. when folks are going to the parade and then 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. when people are leaving the parade. now i want to point out parking will be packed and also when you do use b.a.r.t. you want to move to the center to make rooms for the fellow dub nation there. they are going to be there on the b.a.r.t. trains and also point out the service will not match the public schedule.
6:04 am
i want to make sure folks know that when they arrive at b.a.r.t. back out here live, you're seeing the street that will be plenty packed tomorrow morning and last year, want to point out more than 518,000 people used b.a.r.t., the fifth highest ridership in boo.a.r.t. history. there won't be the parade at the end but plenty of fun for tomorrow's championship parade. live on 19th street and broadway. pete suratos for "today in the bay." >> nice and quiet now. wait until tomorrow. >> thanks, pete. now to our continuing coverage of the san francisco mayoral race. the vote counting continues today but over the weekend, london breed pulled ahead of mark leno. breed is ahead of the former state senator by nearly 1600 votes. but there are still about 25,000 votes to be counted. the race has been very close, been a ping pong match since election day and there's a chance we still won't know who the winner is until late this week at the latest -- at the
6:05 am
earliest. >> if not for the mayor's contest we haven't seen the votes this close since i've been here. i've been here for 16, director for 16, been here 18 years. >> breed got more first place votes in the san francisco mayoral race but didn't get more than 50% and that's why the race is going into an instant runoff and ranked choice votes are now under consideration. more breaking news overseas to tell you about. a deadly suicide bombing in afghanistan's capital and 12 people are known dead at this point. the attacks happened outside a government building in kabul. so far no claim of responsibility from but both the taliban and isis regularly hit targets like this one. >> been a rough sunday night for some people in the east bay. one man is in custody after a tense standoff ended late last night. this happened when neighbors called police after the suspect pointed a gun at them. which you can see in the video, that picture that we have, they
6:06 am
also say that man made racial slurs. the whole thing ended after eight hours. our nbc bay area crew was on air when police made that arrest a little after 11:00 p.m. we spoke with the neighbor who earlier took that -- >> he had it like this, to intimidate us and it was kind of scary. >> so police evacuated that neighborhood until the standoff ended and neighbors say that the suspect had only lived there for a few weeks. authorities have not identified him yet. we are now just hours away from the first ever meeting between a sitting u.s. president and a north korean leader. you're looking at singapore this morning where the world is watching. >> president trump and kim jong-un are both there ahead of the highly anticipated summit and "today in the bay's" blain alexander is also there this morning with what we can expect from the two leaders during this morning. good morning, blain. we just heard that things were progressing faster than
6:07 am
expected. >> yeah, kris and marcus, good morning over there. good evening from here in singapore. you're absolutely right the white house said because the talks are moving along faster than expected president trump is going to be leaving singapore earlier than expected. he will get out of the country and head back to the u.s. tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. so you may wonder how exactly have the talks been progressing faster if the two leaders haven't even met face to face? we do know that delegations from both countries have been kind of engaging in a series of pretalks and according to the white house they are moving faster than expected. >> before the face to face, first a welcome from the host country, president trump greeted by singapore's prime minister. >> thank you very much. >> the local leader already holding a similar meeting with north korea's kim jong-un who arrived sunday. air force one landing shortly after, a light public schedule for president trump ahead of the high stakes meeting. we're right outside of the shan

6:09 am
quickly than expected but keep in mind these are just the pretalks and secretary of state mike pompeo said earlier today, the only two mpeople who can mae any sort of concrete and major decisions are the two people who will meet in the room tomorrow morning. guys. >> we'll see what happens. thanks. >> interesting times, thanks so much. stick with nbc news for continuing coverage of the historic summit between president trump and kim jong-un. live coverage from singapore is coming up on the "today" show at 7:00 right after "today in the bay." right now at 6:09, we start out on this monday morning with some sunshine and we know it's going to be a hot day even though it's nice and cool now with mid-50s. our temperature trend in san jose will be at 68 degrees. rising fast already by 10:00 and we'll be at 80 degrees at 2:00, heading into the mid-80s for the afternoon. and for the inland valleys and spots like antioch and santa rosa, expects high in the low 90s today, most of the bay area

in the 70s and 80s but gets even hotter tomorrow. i'll have a look at today's temperature trend coming up in four minutes. scanning our shot of the bay bridge. >> i was moving our camera right and left to see the entire span as best i could. the report of the crash was indeed on the incline not at treasure island. that's great news. we'll talk about the crash reported on the incline but even the speed sensors indicated nothing past that toll plaza. so i'll continue to scan the toll plaza shot as well. it looks like everything is already. we have the build to the berkeley curve as they slow the metering lights down for a little bit and that may stick for the morning. no major problems. we're looking at contra costa county and both showing the build here, south bay nothing really a problem for santa chair ra county or san mateo county where things move very smoothly as you expect right now. we're going to end with an shot of the san mateo bridge from hayward towards foster city.
