and it )s a big day in the bay area -- hureds of thousands of people will be descending upon it is tuesday, june 12th and it is a big day right here in the bay area. ndreds of thousands of people will descend upon oakland and you know why, for the grand warriors victory parade. live pictures from oracle arena. you can feel that excitement in the air. almost feel it and smell it and taste it. smells like victory. >> yeah, good morning, thank you so much for starting your day with us. >> laura garcia is off and traffic and weather going to be critical today as we try to head out to the parade. definitely sunscreen and water. >> it's going to be warmered it. warmer temperatures for the bay today. let's look at the warriors

victory parade. as we go through the morning, people lining the parade routes in the mid-60 and with the sunshine it makes it up in the upper 70s later today. as we look at inland areas and how hot it's going to be, you'll concord, it heats up to 95 degrees and san jose 89 degrees and 90 today in santa rosa. more on that coming up in a few minutes. you're already seeing slowing. >> working hard on 880 as you kn about tha stretch around 23rd. the map shows you nothing other than what i'll zoom in. southbound 880 jams up south of 9d 80 starts to slow towards 23rd. restricting lane access may continue on for the next half hour. probable 5:15 things get congested if everything goes according to regular schedule. we have a parade we're talking about in downtown oakld.

i'll outline the alternates and i'm suggesting b.a.r.t., the outline for stations if you need. a crash at east shore freeway is off to the shoulder and has been for some time. from what i understand that is westbound coming around hilltop. we'll track the rt of the areas and that warriors parade will be talked about and for now i'll hand it back to you. >> wll get back to warriors talk in just a moment. right now we'll start with the historic meeting between president trump and kim jong-un which ends with hopeful talk. there are still questions about what kind of deal is now in place. the summi ended only two hours ago. president trump spoke for more than two hours afterwards for about 1:00 to 2:00. he described the agreement. >> chairman kim and i just signed a ioi which he reaffirmed h unwaivering commitment to complete denuclearization of the korean peninsula. we also agreed to vigorous

getting ready for fans who beat you to that spot, pete. >> reporter: happy warriors parade day here in oakland. we'llee some of these fans show up and it's going to be at 6:30 a.m. when they are telling folks to be standing at 11th and broadway. this is where the bus is going to start making that turn when the parade starts. you see the balloons already set up this morning. we want to show you guys right here down the way, this is going to be new, if you're showing up for the parade, we have bleachers set up because we want to make it more interactive as fans enjoy the parade in that corner. let's get to the basics of this parade. we know it's going to start at about 11:00 a.m. they've got the pre-parade event at 10:30 a.m. there's no rally at the end. so usually you got that rally towards the end but that's not going to happen. that's going to be a little different. we talked to folks earlier this

need to gather at lake merit like last year. service, the train service will not match the published schedule. keep your heads up when you're inside the station, listen to announcements when the trains are coming. the busiest times between 9:00 and 11:00 and noon and 2:00. something to keep in mind and the parking l b.astatns are exp packed. you want to take awe bus or have someone drop you off. something else, little tidbit, last year b.a.r.t. carried around 518,000 people, that was the fifth largest number of people they've ever carried in the history of the service. again, you can expect crowded trains and when you get out here, based on what we're seeing out here, it's going to be quite a dayer a is very nice and supposed to get hot. bring water.w sunscreen station. pri sunscreen and don't wear a

hike interest rates. the dow rose five points yesterday. the nasdaq closing up 14 to 7,659. it is decision day for at&t and time warner as a federal judge isected to announce whether he will let the merger go through the justice department the prices for consumers will go up too much and the new company could block competition. at&t time warner call for consumers will go down. if they do go up, it will be a matter of more per month. if the deal goes ahead it could open the door to other large mergers such as cvs and eight that. and comcast as it is trying to make a formal offer for 21st century fox. toys "r" us are entering the final days of liquidation sales and up. ranging from 50 to 70% off. many in demand items such as nintendo and playstation game

and then it's going to be very slow to cool down today. get ready for some hot temperatures also in the south bay, especially for gilroy. we're going to reach up to 94 degrees today and 90 in los gatos. for the east bay in oakland up to 79 degrees once again livermore 93 degrees. it's going to be in the upper 70s in san mateo. mission district at 72 degrees and sonoma today 91. it's going to be hot for some of those inland valleys getting dressed today everyone is wearing warriors colors. make sure you have a hat and also short sleeves, good day to wear shorts and sandals, whatever you can do to stay cool especially in the valleys today but don't forget the sunscreen. it's really important and after you look at the bigger picture here showing dry air here for the bay area that will not change the storm systems that are to the north. then i'm also monitoring what's now hurricane bud, a category 4

notification until completely cleared. we'll look for the changes south towards 23rd. downtown we'll g m slowing later on. bob talked about this and pete is on the site. this is the parade route, broadway towards 19th down along lakeside drive. i marked out the three b.a.r.t. spags stations, there's 12th and 19th. this lake merit station is a few ocks away and there's not a lake merit rally but you can take b.a.r.t. to probably a less crowded station and walk over to the parade route anywhere along that road. just prepare for crowds. ac transit will take you into the area. if you're going to the parade it's great. if not you'll have reroutes and delays. either way you'll have delays on the roads. prepare for that for morning and early afternoon. towards the peninsula, an easy light drive here. >> 4:50. we're learning more details about the woman found dead in the hallway at sf general.

the hospital says she's 33-year-old laverne kriner. this is the story our investigative unit broke last week. she was there on a psychiatric observation. and she was on a bed in the hallway but no one checked on her from 2:00 a.m.6:00 a.m. she died during those hours. sfpd i investigating. the autopsy found no signs of foul play. the death came one week after another woman, 75 ruby anderson died of a stair well on hospital grounds. 4:51. today marks the second an sersvy of the pulse nightclub shooting in orlando florida, survivors and relatives will hold a remembrance a church will also ring bells 49 times for the 49 people who were killed. president trump's chief economic adviser is recovering this morning from a heart attack. the white house says that larry kud low is in good condition at

about a fugitive from the air for 4:56 right now, more detail this morning about a -- air force considered most wanted who special agents nabbed in the bay area. >> special agents from a travis capture aid man at his home in daly city and went to live by the name william howard hughes when 35 years ago he deserted the air force while serving in new mexico. neighbors cannot believe the man they know as tim is somneh a completely made up past. >> unbelievable. i mean, there's no way it's tim. he worked as an arc r act weary and supposed to be retired? >> once had top secret clearance in the air force.
