"today in the bay" continues right now. thanks for joining us on this warriors tuesday. i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. we want to know the traffic and mike will come in. >> but first, she's got us covered with all of the weather, what we can expect today. >> we have great weather for the warriors parade but it will heat up for the inland areas and we're watching all of that because we'll have a wide range in temperatures,alo to and towards oakland, it's going to be in the low 60s as you step out the door at 9:00. you'll want to get there early of course but it will be in the

upper 70s for early afternoon. look at our high temperatures today, 79 degrees will be the high today in oakland. and 89 in san jose. 94 in antioch. more of those numbers coming up in a few minutes. mike, the slowing right now pretty mild, right? >> pretty mild, even for the morning commute. you know where it's going to be, typical patterns are kicking in. a little blifor san jose and 101 and 87. we know that. 680 over here through pleasanton through hayward southbound is your direction for that commute building a bit. the bay bridg toll plaza have the commute backing up here. metering lights were turned on at 5:30. lighter traffic to flow through most of the area. lake merritt, in thatre have our paradere i expect a lot of traffic. we'll say to take mass transit and dubs are available thr b.a.r.t. right on parade route, ac transit will help or have to be routed, might hinder you . we'll send it back to you guys.

alexr is live with more. >> reporter: marcus and kr, good morning to you guys. good evening from here in singapore. se certainly a lot to unpack with the six-hour summit. perhaps most note worthy or thing you notice off the bat is a warm body language between the two. you saw prolonged handshake and a lot of smiles between the two and president trump during a news conference really giving a lot of praise to the north korean dictator. so of course the question all of the good foundation aside, how will this translate into action? the world has never seen a moment like this, lears of the united states and north korea, faceo face, hand in hand for the first time in history. >> my meeting with chairman kim s honest and direct and productive. ended with a joint rs long reaffirmed a commitment to work towards complete denuclearization on the korean

peninsula. president trump declaring success. >> we're very proud of what took place today. i think our whole relationship with north korea and the korean peninsula is really going to be a much different situation than it has in the past. >> reporter: the president later telling reporters kim has promised to destroy a major missile engine testing site but that was not in the signed letter the president said because it was agreed to afterward. and he said the u.s. will end military exercises with south korea. >> we'll be saving a tremendous amount of money plus i think it's very provocative. >> reporter: for north korea's reclusive world leader it's a warm welcome to the world stage. >> we had a great relationship. >> today's summit bringing cautious optimism and president trump promising the two will meet again. marcus and kris, that

possible future meeting could happen back in the states. president trump says he's absolutely open to inviting kim to the white house. back to you. >> we'll be waiting for, thank you. 6:10, our other stories we're following this morning. john muir medical center is confirming one of their doctors is the woman who died tragically on interstate 680 when a huge tree fell across the road. rng in danville when a 60-foot tree toppled on the northbound lanes. this happened near the on ramp and accident backed up traffic for miles there with all but one lane closed until noon. >> sadly fire season is definitely here. firefighters are still trying to get the upper hand on this fire in orangent california. it started yesterday afternoon and quickly grew to 155 acres. this morning it is just 10% contained. so far no reports of injuries

and no homes are threatened but a good reminder that we need to be ready. >> right now at 6:11, here's a live look in san jose. no clouds anywhere close to the bay area and it's going to heat up fast. if you're on your way to the warriors victory parade, we've got nice weather in oakland and it will start out in the low 60s and sunshine will warm things up pretty fast by 11:00. we're at 69 degrees and 78 degrees at 2:00 today, eventually hitting 79 for our high today. san francisco 73. while napa today will reach 93 degrees. we'll have mid-90s for the interior valleys and palo alto expect a high of 87 degrees. half moon bay a nice and cool 65. we'll talk about the temperature trend for fremont. maybe you're heading to the warm springs b.a.r.t. station coming up in a few minutes and mike starts out with a look at the san mateo bridge. >> we're watching b.a.r.t.

stations and everything heading to downtown oakland heading to the peninsula, slowing flat section. we're used to seeing that because. volume of traffic. i'll worried about the other side. foster city side. you can see that on the map. debris reported and possibly blocking one of your lanes, a disabled vehicle from the best i can tell. it causes slowing from the top of the high rise down into foster city. you might want to take the dumbarton bridge to stay clear of that activity. chp and bridge crew continue to improve t situation of the south bay, mild slowing and tt crash still going on in the same area as the crash we talked about northbound 680 but it's unrelated to the crash yesterday. coming up here on "today in the bay," continuing team coverage as we're just a few hours from the start of the warriors victoryde, we'll take y if you plan on coming out here. that story coming up. >> how did the markets react to

. good tuesday morning, we're starting out with clear skies and it's got to be a hot day. here's a live look outside in fremont and as youet ready to head maybe to the warm spr station it's going to be at 59 degrees at 8:00.

starts out cool but heats up fast. by 2:00 today heading back to fremont we'll be at 84 degrees. looking at a lot of sun in the forecast but it does cool off. more on that coming up in less than five minutes. >> and kari, oakland looks great and nimitz northbound away from the home of the warriors to the parade of the warriors downtown oakland you'll see more traffic. southbound from the san mateo bridge, i'm concerned about that bridge. we'll talk about why coming up. very happy warriors tuesday to you. the summit in singapore really didn't seem to have an effect on overseas markets this morning. do watch shares of ford. the national highway traffic safety board said that the ford explorer rated a poor, very disappointing crash test for that company. the fed starts a two day interest rate meeting today and we expect the committee to raise rates. other thing to watch today, a judge is expected to rule in the at&t time warner merger if he let's this go through, expect

other big corporations to push for mergers, this could have a serious effect on certain company stock prices. remember how mark zuckerberg said i don't know, i have to get back to you when he testified before congress? facebook has gotten back to congress on all of the unanswered questions, turning in hundreds of pages of documents. among of things we've learned facebook is able to track what you buy online even if you weren't logged into facebook at the time. we're two days from the world cup. you can watch all of the matches on telemundo. already the spanish league is caught sort of cheating. the league itself in spain, apparently it release an app that helps you cheer alongor spain but it also apparently spies on you. the app activates your microphone apptl listen in and . so if it shows you're in a bar in barcelona, right and you can

team, coach kerr and klay thompson and others will be interviewed and this will be at 10:30 nbc bay area. half hour program leading up to the parade starting at 11:00. after they are up on stage ey'll be getting on buses over here and start heading down that direction to the starting line. that of course is where all of the people and fans are and there are fans that are already lining up. if you're thinking of coming out here, they are expecting over a million people. you do the math and know what traffic is like in the bay area on a normal day. the police are telling you b.a.r.t. is telling you you do not want to drive out here. you want to take mass tnsit like b.a.r.t. take a look at your tv screen. ter telling you to get off of the 12th or 19th stations here and keep in mind the normal schedule might not be actual. you want to listen to what's going on in stations because they are expecting a lot of riders today. the busiest times are going to be 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. and noon and 2:00 and if you're thinking

santa rosa and san francisco 73 degrees. and before you head out, if you're allergic to grass pollen, make sure you take the medication, that's the only thing really bothering the allergy sufferers right now. we have a lot of clear weather across the region. storm system say gs well to the north. as we track what's happening in the eastern pacific, right now we have a category 4 hurricane south of baja, california and heading in that direction. so cabo heads up we may have a hurricane heading into that area between thursday and friday morning. as we bring it back to the bay area, hot weather to start the week but today the hottest day reaching 95 degrees and some upper 70s for the rest of the forecast. really nice weekend ahead. and looking at some mid-60s for the weekend in san francisco and mike, you're taking us back to ster city. >> that's right and the san mateo bridge which access over -- westbound 92, the dumbarton bridge, will be a

save a group of trees that a developer wants to chop down. those trees are along walker trif and mountain view near sierra. thom jensen is there this morning. what are we expecting to find out today? >> reporter: we're expecting to have a public hearing pt tonight on these these, about 16 of them here, marcus, where the developer here wants to dut these trees down for rowhome and more than 850 heritage trees have been cut down here in mountain view. movecity denied requests to this grove of five redwoods in the video you're seeing on sierra avenue. after city planners in the public spoke out against removing them. the owner appealed and there will be a public hearing on that issue tomorrow night. so that battle continues. even after the first denial.

there's another hearingonht in mountain view and mountain view any tree with 48 inches around is legally considered a heritage tree and any cedar redwood or oak larger than 12 inches around arelso heritage trees. anyone who removes them, the heritage trees, is supposed to replace them at a 2-1 ratio and 1-1 ratio for any tree removed in mountain view. of the 850 trees removed over the past four years, only 776 of them have been removed. so not even meeting that 1-1 ratio. something the public is no doubt goino brin up in the public hearings tonight on this issue for these 16 trees and over on sierra for the other five on appeal. we're live in mountain crew, thom jensen, "today in the bay." a nail biter continues in the san francisco mayor's race. exactly 1,601 votes separate london breed and mark leno.

workers stilg have to count several thousand ballots though. re looking closely at traffic flow moving much morer kicked in around the bay. we're looking over here towards the san mateo bridge, we have a crash blockinneane at foster city boulevard. off the decline that slows traffic as it builds over from the east bay. again the dumbarton bridge an easier drive. over there we're still looking at slowing for 680 southbound distraktded by the crash northbound. only one lane blocked because a fire truck on scene so you can see it from the other side over the center divide and folks are distracted. now to the rest of the weekend weather. it's going to be a nice one. >> it's going to be cooler, we're looking forward to that and the coast will be a little bit too cool for hanging out with some comfortable weather. here's a look at the way we
