will reach 79 in napa and 63 in san francisco. we'll talk about the weekend forecast coming up and vianey has a look at the morning commute. >> unfortunately we were doing great in terms of accidents but nouf we've got a big issue and chp issued a sigalert westbound 580. all lanes are currently blocked. chp reporting what could possibly be an overturned big rig blocking all lanes. they don't have any of those lanes open. we're not quite sure how long that's going to remain closed but our assignment desk is making phone calls as far as injuries. we also do not know at this point if somebody was injured but it was involving a semi and couple of other vehicles. we'll keep a close eye on this. this is completely gridlocked coming in from tracie through the dublin area. all lanes remain blocked. taking a look at the tri-valley drive times, we're starting to see some slowing but i can only imagine this is going to get

extremely delay within the next hour as they work to clear out the accident. more details coming up. back to you. >> new this morning, a crazy story to tell you about. this involves a fight breaking out on one of the busiest b.a.r.t. lines on a moving train with passengers inside. >> "today in the bay's" pete r suratos joins us from the concord b.a.r.t. station. >> reporter: good morning, it was a knife fight that took place on a b.a.r.t. train heading from antioch -- from san francisco to antioch but had the arrest taking here where we're standing at the concord b.a.r.t. station. we'll show you some of that video from last night. as i mentioned, very busy line heading from san francisco to anty of couran anty oak. one man is in custody and another man suffered a cut to the hand in the knife fight that took place before 11:00 p.m. the specific train did stop for ten minutes while police track down the suspect and attended to that victim. back in may, b.a.r.t.'s police

>> which is stupid, because there was a gun so -- >> one of the men who you can see there handcuffed on a stretcher went to the hospital. he is not badly hurt. the neighbors did tell us that they see crashes in this area all the time. >> some fallout this morning after the watchdog group slammed comey's actions ahead of the 2016 presidential election. inspector general's report said comey used bad judgment in how he handled the hillary clinton e-mail investigation. the report also suggests comey was insubordinate for going public about it without telling his bosses first. at the same time, it's not believed comey and his agents meant to influence the election. >> this report did not find any evidence of political bias or improper considerations actually impacting the investigation under review. >> the report also accuses comey of a serious error in judgment

for reopening the investigation days before the election. the fbi is already talking about using this report to train employees on what not to do. hillary clinton did not talk about the fbi report last night as she visited san francisco. she was honored for her work pushing gun control legislation. gabby giffords a high profile gun control advocate after an assassination attempt on her life presented that award. clinton says her position made her a target of the gun lobby during the 2016 presidential campaign. >> the gun lobby spent $30 million against me. they never had the guts to take on any specific policy proposal. in fact the ads they ran had nothing to do with guns. they were just outright lies. >> on a separate note, bill clinton will be in san jose at the sap center in a couple of weeks. he and author james patterson are promoting their new book. you may recall the contentious

interview on the "today" show earlier this month. >> 5:04. you have to hear this story. this is the wild west meets silicon valley. investigation is under way to determine if a dispute between cattle owners and a landowner had anything to do with some dead cows. santa clara county sheriff's dpity say the two sides got into a bitter argument last week and when the cattle owners tried taking back their 60 head of cattle. landowners locked a gate. that cattle, they finally were returned but 26 cows were apparently missing. investigators have since found a makeshift graze on the property own owner's lands. >> what we're looking at how did the cows die. was it a firearm? if it's a firearm we have to look to see how that is. we don't have the rationale of why yet. >> the cattle were being kept on land near henrico state park.

a follow-up to a story we've been following all month. the future of petaluma's principal is in question. cut short a speech during graduation. the class valedictorian went off script to talk about sexual assault. now there are dual petitions about 100% signed one supporting the principal but more than 15,000 signed a petition to replace him. >> police think they caught the woman who tried to burn down an east bay preschool. city police arrested chris te e ro romo. they released surveillance video of a woman trying to light a molotov cocktail outside the school. we've shown it to you. the woman wasn't able to light it so used a bottle to smash the front door. someone identified romo after this video was aired on the news. spend time on the peninsula this weekend, the pride

celebration is tomorrow. it's a san mateo -- this is going to happen at the central park there and this is free and that fun starts at 11:00 a.m. this is someone you may know. sterling k. brown, awards winning actor from "this is us" and he will be here on sunday for this year's graduates of stanford. he'll deliver the key note address. brown graduated from stanford 20 years ago with the bachelor's degree in drama. >> a live look in pleasanton is funnel cake your thing? it certainly is mine. maybe deep fried twinkies, how about pig races or fair rides to make your head spin. i love those as well. we're in luck for you right here because the alameda county fair starts tomorrow. quts today in the bay's largest fair kicks off later this morning with the annual cattle drive to the fairgrounds. or you're looking at video of that event we shot last year and the fair runs through july 8th. so a lot of fun.

vianey has a big traffic break and sigalert. >> in fact, we are seeing a couple of updates coming insofar. let's get right to the sigalert. there's a crash involving a semi overturned semi along westbound 580 at eden canyon road and all lanes are completely blocked, which we were expecting heavy delays all the way back now through the dublin area. your best bet to try to avoid that is to go ahead and take 680 down through sunol and then try to take 84 and then get down through there. if you try to take 580 right knew, you'll get completely gridlocked. our assignment desk is making phone calls and we don't know if there are any injuries involved at this time. we know there's a sigalert and all lanes remain blocked at this hour. we'll keep you updated. >> a tough morning commute there. >> coming up, we have more springing forward or falling back, daylight saving time could possibly become a thing of the

tariffs, 25% on thousands of products. remember, president trump promised this on the campaign trail. china says it will counter with new tariffs of its own. he elon musk will be on the "today" show talked about his privately funded super tunnel between chicago and o'hare airport, to whisk people 12 minutes door to door. this is what the terminal will look like in chicago. some prominent journalists point out there's already an electric train right now between downtown and o'hare. it's slower but can carry tens of thousands of people per day. chicago has no financial risk. musk says he'll raise the money himself. when we're talking cost and efficiency, there's parallels to our high speed rail project in california and taxpayers will spend $77 billion to get from san francisco to los angeles some day in about two and a half hours. you can do it now by plane in 50 minutes travel time. speaking of california, we've been talking about, splitting california into three

where the barbeque music festival will be happening this morning in the upper 50s and sunshine and nice and comfortable. upper 70s by early afternoon. 7-day forecast at the at the t bottom of the screen. as we look at the microcrilimat, it's going to be busy. a's game, low 60s in oakland at the first pitch and at&t park, the game starts out there at 7:10. it's going to be busy. this one airing right here on nbc bay area tonigh upper 50sn sanrancisco and windy with clear skie bundle up if you're heading out to the game. it's going to be in the upper 60s oakland. 79 in napa and anty of course up to 82 degrees. palo alto 77 and 78 degrees today in san jose. tomorrow, in san francisco and phil more, it's going to be nice for the juneteenth parade and festival starts at 11:00.

59 degrees and some low 60s through the middle of the day. very nice weather there. comfortable but much warmer if you're going to the alameda county fair. this happening all weekend long in pleas antsorn, saturday and sunday same weather, upper 70s for the early afternoon hours and cooling down into the upper 60s as we approach sunset. and it's going to be also fairly windy. then as we get a look at what's happening for the region, we've got rain spreading in the southern california. this is from the remnants of a tropical storm bud that's been spreading rain across cabo and mexico, moving towards arizona and new mexico. that's something we'll be watching and something you might want to watch if you'll be traveling. weekend plans, you can sends them to me at kari hall weather on twitter and facebook. on father's day, perfect weather for the inland valley as we keep upper 70s. look at next week, heating up

once again. take it in with sunshine and more comfortable weather for the next few days, san francisco, mostly stays in the 60s with morning clouds and fog. vianey still tracking a traffic alert. >> a number of issues not just the sigalert but i want to get right to the sigalert. this is along westbound 580 at eden canyon road. all lanes remain blocked and chp says it is a 30,000 pound semi they have to work to clear out. not only that but they are also reporting debris spread out on the road. we have our crew headed out to the scene to check out the situation. with he don't know if there are any injuries involved and we of course do not have an estimated time as far as when it will open. earlier, i had suggested taking 680 down to avoid the 580 in general but now we've got another crash along southbound 680 at sheridan road which also has a couple of lanes blocked.

for today and also the san mateo county fair will be happening at noon and going throughout the evening. there we'll see mid-60s and we'll talk about all of the weekend events going on around the bay area. at least some of them as you try to make father's day plans as well coming up in about six minutes. we'll check back with you. it is 5:32. new this morning, firefighters keeping an eye out for hot spots after a brush fire broke out in san jose. this is new video just into our newsroom. look at the flames. the fire burned along coyote creek at 3:00 this morning. an anger was burned near a homeless encampment, no word on what started the fire but the winds helped to spread it. >> developing right now, gunfire erupts late last night. this is near an east bay funeral home. we know that five people were hurt and that shooting happened while a wake was going on inside the chapel of the times. three people were shot, sent to the hospital, officers later found two more victims nearby. a woman holding a wake for her

mother told people inside had no idea there were shots being fired outside. but the funeral home went into lockdown. >> we were just viewing my mom, commemorating her life and very unfortunate it had to end like that. >> police are not sure how many shooters were involved none of the people attending the wake were injured. >> attacked by one of their own dogs, a fairfield woman is in critical condition after police say that within one of her dogs pounced on her. this happened yesterday when the woman went to give the dog water. that dog which is a argentina breed was in a kennel and suddenly attack that woman when she opened the kennel door. >> it looked like her face and her arms and her hands and legs and body, she was just bitten up all over. you know, she just looked like she had blood.

he was the 13th san jose police officer to be killed in the line of duty. >> are you tired of waiting in the long dmv lines? >> good news for you. there is help on the way. >> d-34. some offices around the state are going to have to start opening up on saturdays and roz plater is live with when and where. >> this is one of the experiences everybody can relate to because it is so frustrating and the lines have been getting longer. the good news though, those saturday openings start tomorrow. you know what we're talking about. you've probably been in one of those long lines and sometimes up to hours if you have not made an appointment ahead of time. and that is what they are trying to fix. those lines have been getting longer since january when people began coming in to get the new real i.d. so to take the pressure off. the dmv is opening some of its offices around the state on the

first and third saturdays of the month from 8:00 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon. here are the bay area locations that will be open. concord, hayward, novato, the clair mont avenue location of oakland, pleasanton, redwood city, san francisco, the san jose drifrlts processing center and santa clara, where we are this morning and santa rosa. a couple of things to note. for this month only, the dmv offices will be open tomorrow, the 16th and also on the 23rd starting july, they'll go back to the regular first and third saturday schedule. also, those behind the wheel driving -- those will not be offered on saturdays, something to remember. can you make an appointment online still. i will tweet out ten of the bay area locations and i'll tweet those out. go to my twitter account at roz news and also tweet add nbc bay area. you'll get all of that information coming up. for now we're live in santa

will not happen until august at the earliest. >> do have an update on two sigalerts in the tri valley. let's get right to the latest from the earlier crash along westbound 580 at eden canyon road. chp reporting that all lanes are open except for one. one lane remains closed due to the overturned semi. but we're still expecting to see heavy delays out of that area but at least they do have the majority of the those lanes open. they are still trying to clear out debris left over in the second lane. unfortunately the sigalert does still remain pretty heavy along southbound 680 at sheridan road. several lanes remain blocked due to a multivehicle accident that had a car completely on fire. chp still not reporting whether there are any injuries from that accident but i also want to show you where it's not looking as bad and that's in the south bay. san jose right now, smooth commute for the 101. >> good deal. thank you, vianey. >> on this friday morning rng

the weekend is here. a lot of people figuring out what they are going to do and you've been telling us about the forecast. >> we have so much going on. let's get right to those temperatures that we're going to be feeling tomorrow. reaching in the mid-60s for the coast, mid-70s for the bay, inland areas 78 degrees. more sunshine on father's day, great weather to get outside. it will be 80 degrees for the inland valleys and bay at 77 and 60 for the coast. nowjuneteenth in the park and it's going to be nice weather compared to last year. cooler and highs in the mid-70s. as we go through the day, we're also going to have some cooler temperatures near the coast. if you're going to san francisco, for the festival happening in union square, it's going to be in the low 60s. sunny skies and also quite breezy. in martinez, a barbecue and music festival will be going on all day long. there we've had such hot weather

through the week. you'll be happy to know you can enjoy your barbecue with much more comfortable weather. it will be in the mid-70s throughout the day. you may wrap up the weekend at the alameda county fair in pleas apt anton and dropping back to 68 degrees at 7:00. in the north beach festival in san francisco, also on sunday, will reach in the low 70s and we've got the stern grove festival. a lot of festivals and busy weekend in san francisco. if you want to get away from it all, russian river valley, 82 degrees and much cooler for the rest of the weekend with low 70s and for the sierra, we're starting out with clear skies, warm weather today with mid-60s and it's going to cool off a lot by sunday and that's when the rain rolls in. it will be time to come on back to the bay area and we're also going to see some nice weather for area beaches but it's going to be cool in monterey with a high of 68 degrees on saturday

the scene. >> new this morning, relief may be coming to people from the central valley looking for another weekend option to the bay area. the altamont corridor express will soon launch a saturday train service. ace trains will run between stockton and san jose for the leisure crowd. it is still not known when that service will launch but a state grant is helping cover the cost. we could soon see a tent city to house more migrant children. administration says the facility will be near el paso, texas. it will have 450 beds. since the trump administration implemented the new zero tolerance policy, the number of migrant children being taken from their parents has skyrocketed. catholic leaders in the united states condemning the decisions being made by the white house. part of the statement from the leader of the u.s. conference of catholic bishops reads separating babies from their mothers is not the answer and is

we take a live look outside in emeryvil emeryville, overall a very nice start. the seven-day forecast is coming up at the bottom of the screen. let's check out the morning commute through fremont, 57 degrees at 7:00. some low 60s for much of the morning and only upper 60s for early afternoon with breezy winds. we're heading up to 78 degrees in san jose. concord, 80 degrees. 79 in napa and santa rosa and san francisco today 63 degrees. as you're starting out, you're getting dressed this morning, you will be comfortable with light long sleeves. you may be rolling them up as the day goes along but that will get you through the day. maybe a hat too because it's going to be windy and you'll really notice those winds picking up this evening. if you're going to pleasanton for the cattle drive, this will kick off the alameda county fair and it's going to be in the upper 60s through the morning. this will be a really interesting event to check out. sunny skies and temperatures warming up in the mid-70s by noon. later on tonight, the country

music festivals kicks off and going on all morning long. florida georgia line will be taking the stage if you're going to be there for the whole lineup, stay hydrated. it's going to be up too 80 degrees there today. here's an update for what was tropical storm bud. now as it continues to weaken, spreading rain all across baja, california. even into southern california. and also over towards arizona and new mexico bringing them clouds and much needed rain. we're going to continue on with dry weather. highs in the upper 70s for today through the weekend but check out next week, it's going to heat up once again. we'll be back up to 90 degrees by wednesday and it looks to stay hot for some time next week. as we look at san francisco in the forecast, morning clouds and fog, father's day looking very pleasant with a high of 64. vianey has been tracking all of the major issues through the tri-valley. >> tri-valley definitely dealing with a lot of issues but i want to start with the wide map.

if you're won derg how your area is doing, i have good news, san jose the south bay pretty clear so far, just regular morning slow. slow spots and of course peninsula is doing pretty good. no major accidents out of the east bay. but i also want to give an update on the two sigalerts from this morning. westbound 580 at eden canyon road. all lanes are now open except for one. however, this one did just pop up here. i'm going to check out to see what that is. still expect to see heavy delays as traffic works to recover. the biggest issue will be along southbound 680 at sheridan road. lanes do remain blocked and there's a car fully on fire. we have a chopper headed in that direction and we're seeing that backup all the way through sunol boulevard. so your best option is going to be take 84. if you take 580 you'll catch the delay from the earlier hour. this will be the best option at this hour and people are already starting to take that and slow them down. a quick check on the drive

laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. let's get straight to the traffic, vianey has been tracking that. two signature alerts. >> in the tri-valley. if that's your morning commute, you need to listen up, we're dealing with heavy delays. i want to get to the first crash right now and this is along 580 at eden and this is right along over -- eden canyon road. there was an overturned semi that had all lanes blocked and now it appears all lanes are open except for the left lane. they were working to clear out that debris but even though we are still seeing heavy delays backed up and unfortunately your alternate route which is typically southbound 680, that's where we're seeing the second sigalert. this is along sheridan road. lanes do remain blocked. this is a multivehicle accident involving four vehicles. one spun out and another one is fully engulfed in flames. we do have some shots from the scene. first i do want to take you to 580 where y
