exercises, pete suratos is live in orinda where one of the controlled burns i today and this comes after windy weekend with those fires. >> that's right, we're standing here on bear creek road where one of those exercises, the controlled fire is going to happen here starting today, lasting for the next couple of weeks. we'll get to that in a moment. you mentioned there were brush fires already seen over the weekend, it's good that firefighters are at least getting these exercises going, we'll show you some of the video too far from the burn zone. there were up to seven brush fires breaking out along santa rosa creek trail and railroad track near fulton and north dut ton avenue. those fires were small. no structured were burns and no one was evacuated. we want to show viewers where it's taking place, controlled

with misdemeanor assault. the man recently labeled jogger joe by people in oakland supposed to be arraigned on felony charges, accused of stealing a phone from a man with some sort of altercation. the man confronted him about a viral video showing him trashing a homess man's property near lake merritt. he faces robbery and assault charges tied to that second incident. 5:06. in a violent brawl in the east bay lands four people in custody. dozens of people started fighting at veteran's park in brentwood. the fight started saturday night when kids with two different famiesplayground. adults eventually got involved in that and started fighting as well. police used a taser on within uflt suspects before arresting him after oirs say he would not listen to their instructions. a hit-and-run driver smashed into a san trans bus with several passengers on board. the crash landed that bus driver

in the hospital saturday night. but the driver is going to be okay. and is already out of the hospital. the search continues for the suspect this morning. the investigators aren't releasing the description of the car just yet. >> now to a harrowing rescue, video from a chp helicopter shows crews working to bring three hikers to safety. they were trapped overnight in a cliff in pacifica after a hike. it wasn't until saturday morning rescue crews could get two teenage girls and 23-year-old man. they were air lifted to saver ground and expected to be okay. preparing for the next disaster. that's what the department of public health and emergencyoing storm and create new ways t tokree the moech vulnerable like heat and flooding. you may remember last year three elderly people died over the labor day holiday weekend during

and then as we get a look at san francisco's forecast, there will be in the mid-70s heading towards the end of the week of the i'll have more on that and also some events going on around the bay area but mike, you're tracking that crash now in haywa hayward. >> we saw early slowing for 880 over there. a look at the rest of the bay looks great. if you're traveling through hey war, particularly from oakland down towards the san mateo bridge, that's the stretch we have south of washington and 238. we see the praek lights starting to tap down towards -- at least the two left lanes possibly three left lanes. we may be down to one lane and exit as you travel south through hayward. getting conflicting reports but there's a lot of activity four cars involved there. southbound 880 through slow h haywa hayward. the bay be mateo bridge. contra costa looks great and no problems out of the north bay and down over towards the bay

commute builds towards the connector and we have a crash still southbound 880 at 92 around jackson overcrossing, two left lanes are blocked. now your travel across the bridges is just fine, getting from downtown oakland towards highway 84. slow but i've seen 27 here improve over the last few minutes. we'll continue to track that. thy may have cleared a lane. we'll check the update for you. >> new this morning as you drive intowork, may see a lot of bikes scattered along the streets of south san jose. it's a new twist in the bike share program. >> sharon is live. i know you did digging overnight. what did you find out? >> well, laura and marcus, you can't miss this, it is quite cool looking. they are light blue and lime green with this nifty basket on. we saw about 20 of the bikes within five minutes from our station on north first street.

these are the self-locking dockless bikes. you can drop them off just about anywhere in north san jose. we found some this morning on the sidewalk, propped up near a rock and in front of an apartment complex. we also saw clusters of them along the cisco campus, they are $2 for a 30 minute ride and there are discounts for low income reresidents to pay for e ride online. it has thousands of bikes throughout the bay area, 200 now in the north san jose area. and some of the boundaries include guadalupe river and south bay freeway to the rt loo. yoire it says ride and return in north san jose, some of the rules i just applied for a 30 minute ride cost me $2 plus 19 cents in taxes. and you can take a look some of the rules include you cannot put them in your own car or take
