ad lib live picture-- san francisco good wednesday morning to you, halfway through the workweek as we take a live look in san francisco. the bay bridge lit up a little cloudy this morning but kari will give us a look at what it's going to look like later. thank you for starting your morning with us. i'm marcus washington. >> i'm laura garcia. >> it's going to be a nice day around the bay area. we're starting out with the clouds and fog near the coast. we'll see that as we head into the next few hours and then it clears out. let's get a look at our cupertino temperature trend. upper 50s at 8:00 and mid-70s by early afternoon. nice little breeze and comfortable weather but we've been talking about hot weather in the weekend forecast and i'll have more on that in a few minutes. mike, you have two reports for

san leandro. >> we'll show you the speed sensors looking great including san leandro, a disabled big rig blocking slow lanes southbound 880 at ma rena boulevard. in the last hour, northbound 880 there was also a crash reported. the crash is still in the system but doesn't look like anything is going on in the roadway. both directions on this speed sensor data shows a smooth drive and in fact, a lighter flow of traffic will keep traffic moving past the big rig southbound. the direction with the headlights past the coliseum will be a distraction south of here through san leandro. back to you. >> thanks so much, mike, we begin witht breaking news very active scene where a van has crashed into an apartment building. look at the dramatic images. very active with police officers unfolds, this isnarea. >> let's pete suratos. what's the latest, pete?

>> good morning to you, laura and marcus, moments ago you had the police tape come down. the van drove according to san francisco police, they are saying this delivery truck, the driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove right through this area, this light here on clement and into that garage. you still see it right there and see the delivery truck that drove right through the garage and we'll show you same video from earlier, it was a much more active scene. you had san francisco fire and san francisco police here. as i mentioned, they are saying that the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel driving through into that garage area. there were no cars in the area and there were no people there in the area but now as far as residents i spoke to some of themey menti boom. obviously it was quite the wake-up call for them but looks like they may have family or friends in the area so red cross won't be coming out here to assist them. back outs live on the scene, you're seeing this intersection has been cleared but that van is

good morning, i'm kate rogers, here are today's top business headlines, wall street will try to rebound from the sell-off from escalating tensions between the u.s. and china. the dow still fell for a sixth straight day and now in negative territory for the year. on today's watch list a report on existing home sales, the dow dropping 287 points yesterday to 247000 while the nasdaq went to sts 7,725. general electric gets the boot from the dow, it will replaced by wahlgreens. created in 1896 and listed in the index. the couple struggled in recent years, down more than 50% in the past 12 months and 25% this year

welcome back as we get started with our wednesday, hump day for a lot of people. take a look here. this is the bay bridge there. i think this is probably one of the most beautiful shots that we give every morning when it's dark outside. i love it. here's a look at the forecast in just a moment. >> you would love too is the oakland zoo. if you haven't been to bay area zoos, something that a lot of people have been waiting for. today the zoo lifts the curtain a little on its long awaited expansion. the zoo's california trail project will expand the zoo by 56 acres been in the works for years. some of it goneopen. it opens a media preview debuing the most recent animals. california trail officially opens on july 12th.

not too far away. >> you get the best views of the bay area from the oakland zoo, even parking. you park and you're like, wow. >> you have some of the best workouts as well. >> yes, you do. >> never took the triplets when they were little. all right. >> we've got great weather for going to the zoo today. here's a live look outside from emeryville, gives us another view of the bay bridge this morning. i wanted to show you the low clouds we're seeing just kind of hovering over the city right now. those clouds will get even lower and that may block some visibility for people heading out the door within the next hour or two, especially along the coast. right now our temperatures as you head out the door are in the upper 50s for san francisco and it's 56 in palo alto and in san jose it's 57 degrees. 51 now in santa rosa and our temperature trend in concord will show a few clouds through about 8:00. temperatures in the low 60s, reaching the low 80s by early a

screen shows much more uncomfortable weather for the weekend. we're going to reach up to 79 degrees in san jose. and looking at some upper 80s rather for the parts of the inland valleys from antioch and over towards concord, oakland today upper 60s and we will have those brisk winds keeping it nice and cool. so getting dressed this morning, good day to once again wear short sleeves and shorts. we've had this kind of weather but we'll be definitely much hotter over the next couple of days. so as we get started this morning, maybe you're heading out to the marlins and giants game. we won last night so looking forward to another win today, first pitch at 12:45. it will be 63 degrees, great weather to enjoy outside once those skies clear. we will have more of an onshore flow today. that means transporting the ocean breezes to the inland areas, our wind speeds for the next couple of days at about 15 to 20 miles per hour. a little bit stronger in santa

rosa but notice by friday, our winds shift direction and we will have our winds blowing offshore. so that brings in some hot temperesui on saturday and we'll have our and most of ourho winds into saturday. look how the temperatures respond. we'll be up to 100 degrees on saturday, still really hot on sunday. but the heat backs off and the ocean breeze returns early next week. looking forward to that cooldown but we're going to have a couple of days of really warm weather while san francisco reaches into the 70s in time for the pride festivities this weekend. is an leandro clear? >> they are both clear around ma rena.slowdown out of the corridor past west north wind road and west grantline. west 580 over here towards the dublin interchange. a couple of incidents. there was a fender in the lanes

over past the interchange at san ramon road. not a problem but call it out so chp gives the all clear. i'm looking at the area any way at the live camera and reports of a fender bender as you approach the dublin interchange in your commute direction but we don't see a disturbance to the flow here. that's good news. a smooth ride for b.a.r.t. through that area and all around the systems looking at no delays for any of these transit agencies. longer commutes from capitol corridor and giants playing today at at&t park. it's a community as well. watch their website for adjustments on parking. back to you. >> 4:49 right now. taking on pg&e again. that's what famous consumer advocate eric brockovich is doing. she talked to firefighters and encouraging them to hold pg&e accountable. she's joining a team of attorneys representing hundreds of survivors who are suing the
