antioch, san francisco at 65. we'll talk about the fog and some warmer temperatures in the forecast coming up. mike, you found something in the south bay. >> it's not in the report. i wanted to point it out. chp has no real major incidents as far as crashes go on the roadways, there was an earlier crash at grant line. in the construction zone, same lanes are closed and over here it's the bailey on ramp to 101 northbound. partially affected by an earlier crash and chp didn't have it but we have it in the traffic notes. i'll call that out there. a minor thing and not affecting the main freeway itself. over here laura showedti, it wi. we don't have all of the cash lest developments on the fe burning in lake county. a state of emergency effect those lanes are threatening hundred of

structures and this was about 55 miles north of santa rosa and 1500 people are evacuated and the fire standing at 10,000 acres and only 5% contained. so far 12 homes and ten structures are destroyed. "today in the bay's" melissa has the latest from spring valley. >> reporter: the pawnee fire is on the third day. you can see the glow of the embers right behind me over that valley over there. so far scorched over 10,500 acres and the good news is most of that land is desolate land filled with bone dry brush. fire crews are working around the clock to fight off flames inching closer and closer to people's homes. at least ten homes and outbuildings have been destroyed. 1500 people evacuated their homes from the spring valley clearlake oaks and double eagle ranch communities with their cars and their canines,

residents are seeking refuge at the moose lodge off highway 20. lake county is no stranger to wildfires. for last three years, wildfires have burned thousands of acres and in 2015, the valley fire killed four people. the lake county sheriff suggest wildfires are starting to become the new normal. >> we'll know what's going to happen now and they know they are going to be inconvenienced and not going to be an overnight thing. >> overnight humidity is expected to go up and that is going to help the fire crews as they work to get the pawnee fire under control. cal fire still does not know what exactly caused the pawnee fire and we do know arsonist investigators will be taking part in that investigation. that's the latest here in spring valley, i'm melissa colorado for qutsz today in the bay. >> 4:33 right now. the migration crisis at our southern border continues and today human rights activists and state leaders and educators will hold a rally in el paso texas, protesting the policy of

separating families. plan to demonstrate across the street from the united states district courthouse where cases of children and families will be heard this morning. after that rally, the group will board school buses to deliver books, clothing and supplies to children being held at its detention camp. east bay congressman mark desalier is hosting a town hall and will discuss the zero tolerance immigration plans. the congressman will address the administration and thousands of detained immigrants at the concord naval weapons station. >> here's something you need to know, a popular east bay water park is closed. there are reports of children getting sick. more kids reportedly got sick at the blue goose park. the symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea. county health inspector found chlorine and ph were within the required levels and he also discovered the ultraviolet light disinfection system did not work

as the system's automatic shutdown faid to activate. the system is used to destroy harmful bacteria. parents also alarmed. >> should have had thorough checking every week, every weekend maybe. the department should have checked everything. someone somewhere dropped the ball. that's the bottom line. >> the brentwood city manager says that the pump is getting repaired once the system is fixed the county health department will inspect the facility again before it is open to the public. >> it is 4:35, san francisco's board of supervisors meet every tuesday but today is special. they'll elect a new president. the last president london breed now the mayor elect. breed was first elected to the board of super visosupervisors, of the board in 2015. >> san jose city council decides whether to accept revised reports on police use of force. the council refused the initial

version. the report included important data, specifically dealing with race. yesterday the union president turned in a more than 500 signatures to the mayor's office. the union wants the independent police auditor fired for misconduct. an interview with nbc bay area yesterday, the officer said that his report could have been presented better. >> happening today, san francisco leaders holding a public hearing on the troubled hunter's point redevelopment project. the problems began years ago. nbc bay area investigative unit first discovered soil samples hired to clean the former ship yard. and the scandal has widened. now supervisors are considering amending redevelopment plan. today's hearing takes place at 2:00. you can watch all of our reports on the former ship yard at nbcbayarea.com. coming up here on "today in the bay," competition at the box office when it comes to those movie passes, the new competition and the company in

is given the green welcome back, it's 4:39, san francisco police department given the green light to arm its officers with tasers but there's a big problem. the department has no money to

buy them. city leaders yesterday voted down a plan to spend $2 million on them. the decision could push back taser use for another year. the opponents say the actual cost will be much higher and want a more realistic estimate. the police commission pushing for taser s says it's a step in the wrong direction. >> the police commission has approved it and department of justice has recommended they get tasers and i'm really all about less lethal alternatives for a police force. >> the final decision will be made by the full board. i should mention san francisco voters overwhelmingly rejected a measure to arm officers with e you can expect to see two housing related bonds on the november ballot. the first measure is a $2 billion bond measure to house the homeless. lawmakers approved that money in 2016 but it has been tied up in court because of a lawsuit that argues that the money comes from a sourgs voters approve to fund mental health services now

good rn mody, headquarters. wall street is set to open following the big sell-off. the dow was down 500 points but closed off fears about a mobile trade war. that was sparked by reports that the white house is considering limits on investment by chinese firms and companies which administration officials are disputing. on today's watch list, reports on home prices and consumer confidence, the dow closing down 328 points, the nasdaq following 160. turning to tech, the rumor mill is spinning about the new features included on sam sung's next flagship smart phone, the galaxy s-10. rert wl have both an in display fingerprint scanner and recognition to unlock the

that's going to roll in as we go into the next couple of hours. we'll see that scene changing so if you're on way to fruitvale b.a.r.t. station, it's going to be cool with temperatures in the mid-50s through 7:00. then we're going to see those temperatures in the east bay looking at about 64 degrees at noon. the 7-day forecast is at the bottom of the screen showing that it will be warming up all around the bay area. check out the microclimate. we're up to 92 degrees. that's going to be one of the hotter spots. elsewhere we're looking at mostly some 60s and 70s for parts of the coastal areas, palo alto up to 80 degrees and 83 degrees today in san jose. so getting dregsed this morning, it's one of those mornings where you need a hat to give you some shade. sunglasses too. good options as it feels like also, don't forget to take your allergy medication if it's been bothering you, most plilikely allergic to grass pollen.

with blowing around that pollen, your wind speeds coming in onshore and we do still have our natural air conditioning so it's keeping the coast in parts of the inbay cool. here we are on thursday afternoon, there will be a slight shift in the wind direction from the northwest and it won't be as cool for the inland valleys. by friday into saturday, the winds will be blowing offshore and as that wind comes over the land, it will be heating up and it's going to be really hot heading into saturday and that's when we have reached the peak of our heat. our wind speeds do stay fairly light. here's a look how the shifts in the winds change the temperatures over the next few days. we go from mid-80s, slightly cooler tomorrow and starts to heat up for friday into saturday. 98 degrees for the inland valleys and san francisco goes from 65 degrees today to 78 on saturday. heading over to mike, you've

been tracking what's happening out there and a tunnel closure. >> watching yesterday focus is not a surprise. we'll touch on that. we're looking at green sensors all around the bay except for over here out of tracie towards livermore. traditional slowing. should be picked up now. we don't see any additional delays, 580 and clearing by the time you get to west grant line. grant line road. we're looking over here towards the rest of contra costa county, ab easy flow out of the north bay and the bay bridge also shows cash lanes a few cars waiting in each of the cash lanes. and before they open all of the cash lanes. over here the richmond/san rafael direction, farther north, that's a nice truck there. a smooth drive for all of these -- two trucks and this car. light traffic towards the north bay without any problem. the tunnel we talked about is a twin peaks tunnel. it's closed for a couple of months over there. they have to do the tunnel repair work and the k,ecte for

an east bay 4-h family is stunned and heartbroken after somebody stole their daughter )s rabbit from the an a east bay 4 h.-family devastated after someone stole their rabbit from the county fair. buster, stolen saturday night from a cage at the fair. 13-year-old mabel has been raising the black and tan rabbit since he was baby but this comes after a happy occasion. that pair won most creative costume on saturday morning but someone broke into the cage later that night and took off th buster. the family desperately hoping to find the has berabbit ha r who become part of the family. i attention, he would my lap. >> 4-h members have been searching for buster in a cage. he escaped and capt toxt r is
