francisco, castro district, this morning police are investigating a suspicious deathneighborhood. >> pete suratos is live at the scene. good morning to you, pete. far? >> good morning to you, marcus and kris, we know it's still an active investigation behind me here on 18th and castro, we're standing on 18th just across the street from the badlands nightclub. you have sfpd still on scene investigating what they are calling at this point a suspicious death. i want to show you scene video from earlier this morning. a much more active scene. according to sfpd, they told one of our crews here on the ground earlier, roughly around 1:00 a.m., they were responding to a fight or robbery in progress in this area. when they arrived, they found a person with life threatening injuries and medical personnel were not able to simt th point, not know exactly how it all happened and as i mentioned, still being treated as a suspicious death.

fruitvale bart station, it's going to be clear but cool, so maybe grab a jacket and as we go through the day it's going to be warming up fast. our high temperatures will reach into the mid-90s for concord and antio antioch. low 90s for napa today and 78 in oakland. san francisco, 73 degrees. not bad at all with san jose in the upper 80s today as you're getting dressed once again, it's a day for layers with those cool temperatures this morning. and then maybe wear a sleeveless shirt or short sleeves for the aftermath. once you take the jacket off you'll be comfortable with shorts and sandals or some flip flops if you're comfortable. we'reng from the north and north bay. also breezy conditions for the coming in from the north and very dry air going offshore. this will even heat up some of our beaches heading into tomorrow when we get that offshore wind flow. we don't get that ocean breeze, that even keeps the cool temperatures near the coastline.

heading into monday, we will return to our onshore flow bringing back the cool ocean air. in the meantime, we'll have a red flag warning in effect for the north bay hills, all of these areas shaded in red, that means that humidity will be low and temperatures will be high and you shouldn't burn anything or be careful with cigarettes or lighting any fireworks over the weekend. do not do that whatsoever because the brush is so dry. we also have the pawnee fire area around clearlake that could blow smoke into parts of the bay area once those winds comeow ho today. 93 degrees for the hotter spots and 100 degrees tomorrow. still hot on sunday and dry but cooling down early next week and in time for the fourth of july. it will be a little bit more seasonable with 60s for san francisco and 80s inland. mike we're seeing late and early slowing. >> it will be late to start because it's friday and it's

summer. but then it's going to start early again in the evening because folks getting out of town. we're talking about how because fourth of july is on a wednesday. the temperatures change. people are trying to get out a few extra days maybe and we'll see how that affects the flow later today. it's just showing you that green -- look at that, that's beautiful. all over the bay, moving into contra costa county, highway 4 did not show slowing just yet. there is a disabled vehicle reported just off the sky way in san francisco. out of lanes but i'm tracking that. also heard about this, this is a northbound 680 towards gold hill and up towards the merge and folks heading in towards fairfield. this is counter commute and this e areas we talk about for the early start to the slowdown. 680 and carquinez bridges towards fairfield and that starts early in the afternoon on a typical friday. over here the bay bridge, we have a little bit of a backup for the cash lanes. very light right now. we'll watch as it builds this morning but more likely towards the middle of the day where

things really get congested. the san mateo bridge shows a steady flow towards the peninsula. no problem on the peninsula slide. back to you. >> 4:49 right now. san mateo county law enforcement officers could soon be equipped with a lifeaving drug to help people who are overdosing on opioids. the county civil grand jury is recommending officers be armed with naloxen. they can use this drug if they are exposed to dangerous opioids as well. it will cost $100 per officer and that training takes less than an hour. officers could have that drug by the end of the year. >> an update to a very sad story. this man, the suspect who robbed and assaulted an erldly woman in concord could now be facing murder charges. knocked down ann marie peterson to the ground as he stole her purse. it happened at the bank of america in sun valley mall last month. peterson was hospitalized with a

broken hip after that attack but we learned that she died yesterday. if you need a place to cool down this hot weekend, a water playground at the popular water park in the east bay is set to reopen. we're talking about blue goose park in brentwood. it has the all clear to go ahead again. a section was shut down monday after an inspection from the health department. four kids were vomiting and had diarrhea after playing in the water playground on june 1eth. maintenance problems have now been fixed. h> f of start of the second half of the year, caltrains monthly passes will cost you more, adding an additional day to the monthly pass rate. the passes will now be calculated on 15 days of travel instead of 14 with those costs varying by the number of zones you commonly travel. july monthly passes went on sale eight days ago. >> all right, we've been mentioning it's friday.
