the fire is completely out. here is video from earlier this morning. call came in and quickly spread to a second alarm. it is still early on. we don't know what sparked the fire or where it began. this is the western edge of golden gate park. water pressure is low in this part of the city which means crews had to use trucks to get water up this hill. >> we have a hydrant here. those of you looking to come out to the park know that it will be closed today.

the fire is only 2% contained. >> pete is there with the fight to contain the flames this morning. how is it going? >> good morning to you. you can still smell the smoke here in the air here. i can say since we have been here the conditions are a bit cooler. it could be good news for firefighters there. we are standing on highway 128 here. this is one of the areas that are closed off. this road for a few miles down is closed off. there is monday tear evacuations in place for this area. let's show our viewers some of the fire we are seeing here. this is on the fire lines off of highway 16. that is north of where we are standing. that is where some of the folks on the ground telling me this morning. as you mentioned those numbers, the fire burning through tens of thousands since saturday afternoon. it is about 70 miles northeast

district did issue a smoke advisory yesterday. a lot of people following cars all over san francisco. they could learn the fate of a man accused in the case. they were in court. each faces 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. sources tell us that lawyers for the men are finalizing separate plea agreements with the judge which means that the case would not go to trial. the hearing resumes tomorrow. both men accused of illegally converting that warehouse into a living space. i'm sure you heard about this horrifying story. nine people were hurt. a man went on a stabbing free at

be. a woman drowned. it happened just after 7:00 last night. a witness says the woman was taking pictures of her young family members when the waves swept them up. a woman went in after the kids. the waves swept her out too. other family members pulled the kids out but couldn't get to the woman in time. we don't know her name but we can tell you she is 47 years old. she is from the east bay. a nurse shark. >> it grabbed her whole hand. the shark ended up almost taking her finger. >> it happened so quickly. >> all i could focus on is the fact that my finger is gone.

this is in the wrong place at the wrong time. >> the deadline's right to die opponent and the clock is ticking. the state appeals court reinstated the end of life auction. state lawmakers approved a special session two years ago. it allows for terminally ill people with prescribed life ending drugs. it settled the issue for the time being. the case still has to play out in the court. developing in the philippines a mayor has been shot and killed. the mayor served the city about 40 miles south. he was known for rounding up drug suspects and parading them through the city. somebody shot him this morning.

first an update to breaking news we )ve been following all morning. a terror plot foiled in downtown cleveland. >> before you head out the door we have the latest on today in the bay. a news conference just wrapped up. here is what we learned. the suspect who lived in ohio told an under cover fbi agent he planned to blow up the 4th of july parade with a bomb. the fbi says the suspect has allegiance on al qaeda and to an fbi agent. he planned the attack philadelphia where he used to live. that suspect is facing several charges and will be in court later today.
