i just got off the phone with the sergeant from california highway patrol. they found a driver stuck in the middle lane who had been shot. it was a person in the car who had been shot. as a result that person was taken to the hospital. their condition is unknown. the sergeant did not indicate whether or in the they found bullet casings.

burned. as we look at wind speeds and look at the direction for the north bay we have wind flow that could carry the wild fire smoke into parts of napa to start out the day. the winds will shift direction and blow on shore. so there will be variable winds today. some of the worst smoke will be northeast of the fires later on today. we talk about the conditions that the firefighters have to deal with to battle that wild fire. it will be slightly cooler. we are getting pretty good recovery as far as the humidity

points on growing fears about the trade tensions between the u.s. and trade partners. the dow rising to 24307. another privacy mishap, the company says a software bug unblocked some people who were blocked by another user. it means that person could see posts who blocked them. facebook says the bug effected 800,000 users and was live for about a week for end of may and early june. a handful of users say they sent their stored photos to everyone on their contact list. the problems first reported says

out of the cave. we have the latest. >> they are calling this a miracle. the fact they were found alive inside the cave after more than a week the big challenge now is trying to get them out. they are also looking at drilling new entries into the cave. they have ending in food, water and medicine to keep them stable. they realize it could be weeks or months before they can do this safely. the biggest thing working against them is the weather. this is the rainy season in thailand. when it rains the water inches rise about 6 inches every hour. they have pumps going 24 hours a day to keep this rescue effort

santa clara your vote might be changing. the city was ordered to split up. today the city council will hold the first public meeting on what the districts might look like. tonight's meeting is at 6:00. this is all because of a lawsuit brought by an asian american man claiming that the population wasn't getting fair representation in city wide elections. the judge in the case agreed. an update on what could be an update for people to get on the peninsula to get to work.

many of california's marijuana dispensaries are in a pinch. the reason new state regulations took effect at the start of the month. all businesses must meet stricter standards when it comes to packaging and labeling. some dispensaries have extremely low supplies. others are temporarily closed.

by early afternoon we are at 76 degrees. the seven day forecast is already up at the bottom of the screen showing that it is going to be hot heading into parts of the bay area. we check out our temperature trend in concord. it is 66 degrees at 9:00. at lunchtime 78 degrees. we are heading into the low 80s there today. fairly nice and warm. if you're off today going to the beach it will be chilly out there at half-moon bay. we have a beach hazard statement saying there could be rip currents and sneaker waves today. looking at highs there. san francisco 61. it is 78 degrees today in san jose. as you're getting started you'll be comfortable throughout the afternoon with light long sleeves and maybe jeans as we go throughout the day. we are looking at some of the events going on around the bay area. we have the whole line up and
