happening tonight but one city is focused on stopping illegal fireworks. we are live in san jose to explain how the city is cracking down especially after big problems with the reporting system last year. it is not farfetched to call it a debacle, bob. >> good morning. happy fourth to you. the city allows do you report illegal fireworks online. take a look. it is san jose/fireworks. you can go oun to the web site and make a report of illegal fireworks. you can up load five pictures. the deadline to do this is july 8th. there is also a phone number.

a man is facing pretty disturbing charges. he is accused of killing his own mother. he was arrested yesterday morning. police say they found her mother dead on the bathroom floor. police say matthew was in that neighborhood on a crime spree attempting to break into cars and homes. it happened just before 5:30 last night about a block.

the victim flagged down a driver asking for help. that man was taken to a hospital. we don't know the extent of his injuries at this point. is it justice served or justice denied? >> the defendants pleaded no contest it means both will serve less than ten years in prison and they could be out much sooner with good behavior. victim's family members say that this doesn't seem right. >> they just wanted fair justice. >> the family mens will have a chance to tell tell how they feel. it is at the sentencing hearing in august. a woman in her 40s escaped

serious injury after walking in on a burglar. it happened just not of el camino. they say the burglar pushed the woman in the wall and she fell to the ground. police from neighboring cities and canine units helped to track down the burglar. he got away with some of her valuables. this dedication heappens during the 4th of july parade. the city turns 150 today. >> and you can hear the sizzle. it is a taste of what's to come. fireworks of the oakland coliseum. it followed last night's a's
