>> yes, not only heat headed into the weekend, because slight increase in the humidity as well. this is a live look outside in san jose this morning. going to santa clara to check out the temperatures for today. it is 63 degrees at 8:00 and then some upper 70s by early afternoon. we are going to reach into the low 80s for the south bay today and the temperatures are starting to the spread out, and low 60s for the coast and some low 90s for a few inland areas. i will talk more about that coming up in a few minutes, and vianey is going to the give us a look at what is happening in santa cruz this morning. >> yes, a minor issue, but enough to cause possible delays. looking at the bay area here not too bad, but zooming in, you can see that there is a are reported road hazard at sohboundported t trashbag with flairs going up. the the speed sensors are gh picking up the major slowing, but you could be caused to slow down a little bit.

current, you don't want to fight the rip current, and swim parallel to the shore, and once you are free, swim towards the show. if you are feeling that you can't make it to the shore, wave and call for help, and also, i want to point out that you want to check the conditions before entering the water without seeing, and of course, if you see someone struggling there on the the water, look for the lifeguard. if the lifeguard is not there call 911. and over to the weekend there was a traffic incident near half moon bay where there was a woman drowning, and after going into the water to try to save three young family members caught in the underflow. nd other family members saved the three children, but that is not what was dangerous of the wave, because it was the dangerous of jumping into the water. the waves according to the national weather service should happy today and tomorrow and potentially h as high as 15 feet, but the warning is in place through late saturday. we are live near pacifica.

and now, talking about the changes after the weekend over the bay area, and getting out the door for freemont, it is going to be mostly cloudy and the clouds though will be clearing out quickly and nice today and warmer than yesterday, and especially in spots like martinez where it is 63 at 9:00 and at noon 74 degrees and nice heading into the low 80s for this afternoon, and as we look at the high for the south bay, we are reaching up to 89 degrees in morgan hill, and going to be warmer there and cupertino at 80 degree, and one thing that we notice is that we will be ranging across the bay area, and oakland is going to reach 73 degrees, and concord and danville will be up to 90 degrees, and cool for the coast half moon bay reaching 61 and 80 in redwood city and san francisco keeps the brisk winds at a 15 to 20 miles per hour, and highs reach iing the mid- t

upper 60s and for the north bay in nevada to today, expect 85, and one of the warmer spots in the north bay. and here is tropical storm fabio well to the south of the bay area, but it is going to have an impact on the waeather going ino the weekend. as it moves farther off course to the north and west, we will see more clouds and hume ti for a little while tomorrow and also turning up some waves for the bay area beaches. and if you are going to beaches, we are looking at 7 to 12 foot waves, and continuing through saturday afternoon. and so if yo you also have the risk of sneaker waves and so if you are going to beach, never turn your back to the water and keep an eye to the best of you, and best to go to beaches with the lifeguard, but it is a weekend where you have to stay out of the water. the waters a s will be warming

" m ngto >> and i'm kris sanchez. and looking at how the weather is changing and could affect the way you are dressing as you are leaving the house. >> yes, in the bay, it is staying cool, but in the inland area, it is going to be heating up. we start out with clouds this morning and very slow to clear. at walnut creek, quickly clearing skies, and starting out with the temperatures in the low 60s at 9:00, and low 80s today for 3:00 and looks like a really nice one. this is a look at the high temperatures for today. santa rosa is going to reach 79 degrees. 83 in san jose. and 90 in concord and livermore is going to reach 87 degrees.

we will talk about the weekend ahead in seven minutes as vianey has a look at the morninging commute which has been light. >> it has, but we are seeing a couple more people on the road. we still have one minor issue that could be slowing down some spot spots. so far, no major slowing here, and the reason being that it did happen a couple of hours ago and they were working the clear out the debris that was blocking the ramp. this is aboard southbound 70 near camden and the connector at 85, and looks like an oovernight crash and possibly a rollover there and that is why there is more debris, but it is blocking the ramp which is great news for anybody heading down there and they should be clearing it out with enough time. and in san jose, they have a couple more vehicles out there and tired and i bet you that i have two shots of expresso in the drinks as well. and ift not, i will need another one later. thank you. >> you and me, both. now, to the intense situation

developing in thailand this morning. the rescue operations are continuing for the dozen boys and they soccer coach. more than a week later and they are still trapped inside of that cave. time is running out before a possible monsoon heads in threatening to derail all of the progress they have made so far. >> and we are hearing from thailand more about that frantic effort to get people out. bill neely >> yes, it is frantic rescue efforts here to continue to try to find a way to rescue the boy, and half a mile beneath me, and 12 boys, and they are trying to be brave p but desperate to be free, and they are not out of da danger yet. the new video has emerged showing them today, and again, a lot of them smiling and looking like the spirits are up, and they are with the divers trying to keep them amused and even talking to them about their world wide fan club and asking them if there is anything that they want to say to the fans.

fourth. and these are a few of the illegal fireworks that we saw from the cameras over san jose and east palo alto overnight, and in san jose we are working to find out if fireworks sparked a fire near levy stadium. >> and we have bob nar dell low who is live with the investigatio investigation, and we know that there are going to be more of those illegal fireworks as well, bob redell. >> yes, kris and marcusan all fire wos fireworks are illegal here in the city of san jose and this is one of the reasons why. looking at this tv screen, this is from the bay area sky range wrer we are standing near intersection of north first and 207 in san jose possibly ignited by illegal fireworks over night. we did see the police going into the nearby neighborhood and not clear if the officers were going after somebody shooting those off, but this being said, we don't have any other reports of

and while most people were making their holiday plans, so were thieves. at at this strip mall they were emptying out the stores, but the thieves probably did not plan on being caught on surveillance camera. the owner told us that the surveillance camera had a clear image of the thieves and they used power tools to go into one unit and used the power tools to smash through neighboring units to ransacking along the way, and this is apparently a big problem there. >> and hopefully, they are going to try to find a solution or at least try to be in this area a little bit more, because it is ongoing situation. >> and we were also told that the thief or thieves brought food with them and left the leftovers behind. it all went down despite the new security gates installed two months ago. it turns out that work near some palo alto schools are not going to be done by the time the kids go back to class.
