plaza. we begin with breaking news in the east bay. we told you about the health advisory in martinez. >> we are live near the refinery this morning. sharon, what have you been able to find out? >> reporter: we moved about 2 miles away from the red zone. we started tasting that odor in our mouths. it was sort of a metallic taste. a security guard along with a photographer, we all smelled it. we moved a little ways out of that red zone.

the young boys and their coach have been trapped since june 23rd. just last night a rescue diver died while placing oxygen canisters highlighting how dangerous it is. he was experienced an well trained. it could get worse as monsoonal rains start to move in. he says he is going to try to help. he actually tweeted early this morning saying she sending a team of engineers to see if they could do something. we are outside in fremont with some of the ideas they are considering. good morning. >> good morning to you there. yes. he is also behind the car company has been suggesting a couple of solutions by his twitter feed in hopes of getting the 12 boys and their soccer coach out of that cave safely where they have been trapd for almost two weeks now.

taking measures into her own hands - after she was faced with a texas mother talking about taking measures into her own hands. she used a gun to shoot the man who police say try today carjack her suv with her two young children still in the backseat. this started when that mom who does not want to be identified went insaide a gas station in dallas. she ordered him to pull over. it did not work so she grabbed a gun from her gun compartment and fired. >> if anybody was try to do thoorm my kids i would do what i need do to protect them by any means necessary.

miles away here because we started to smell an odor and had a metallic taste in our mouth. we decided to move out. this is the area we are talking about. this is in the red zone. you can see homes behind me here. this is about 2 miles away from the refinery. let's take a look at video if earlier this morning. county health says people with respiratory sensitivities might be effected due to a unit upset. the refinery hasn't defined what that is just saying there's an incident that occurred. a chance people could smell odors and eye, skin, nose or throat irritation. if people experience any irritation they should go inside and rinse any ir tatded area of their body with water.

>> if you sense some of these symptoms you should take caution. >> all right. thank you. it is 6:34 now. to developing news in thailand rescuers are trying to find out how to save those young boys the danger is growing in terms of that rescue. overnight we learned that a thai navy seal died during that mission. >> it highlights how dangerous this all is. we have the latest from thailand. >> reporter: good morning. it is the risk that those boys weren't clear enough. they were underlined by the death of an experienced thai

navy diver. he was delivering oxygen when he ran out of oxygen himself. they tried to revive him but he sadly died. if it can happen to him what about those boys? they may well face a threat from the very people trying to help them. there are so many volunteers and divers down there the oxygen supply inside their own cave are actually being depleted. they have run oxygen lines, air supply into the cave to try to help the boys. the commanders here are becoming increasingly convinced that as the monsoon rains approach this weekend they need to risk an emergency rescue. american divers are now in the thick of everything, part of a team of 30 americans, part of a global rescue attempt.

fantastic friday. zbli like that. >> it will be a humid friday across the area. if you're going through the alameda county fair you'll feel that. we'll get mostly sunny skies. hotter than it was yesterday reaching into the low 90s. we are kicking off the weekend to the fair. what else are you doing? inland areas reaching up to 95 degrees. the bay at 88 degrees and the coast at a comfortable 72. for sunday more of the same. really no major changes with mid-90s for the valleys and low 70s for the coastline. if you're going to heavenly it will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. heading up that we have been talk about the risk of high waves at ability 7 to 12 feet.

check the traffic situation if the road trip is heading up north. it scorched around 88,000 acres. it is 30% contained. it may start a factory to build houses particular small modular homes. it is in a factory and go into a housing development where other crews would be ready to pour foundations and do the prep work. supporters say it would lower construction costs and speed up development. the report does say that the challenges includes issues with labor unions and building inspections. we just got the jobs and numbers for you this morning.
