other. that one is here. behind me here you can see the staging area. you can smell smoke in the area. we are not that far over that bridge from where they are working. let me show you. they say the fire spread to 100 acres but is about 75% contained this morning. it began here about 3:00 yesterday afternoon. they made repeated water drops as the flames burned dangerously close to homes. the abm research facility were both evacuated and it was too close for comfort for some of the homeowners. >> we ran out here with my one-year-old in my arms. that whole hill over there had already burned up. >> about an hour before that the hail fire broke out. it was a fast moving gras fire. it ripped through threatening

about 15 homes. it also tore through a ranch. one was able to escape. they say about 50 acres were burned in that fire. the blaze this morning is fully contained. no word yesterday on the cause of either of these fires. they are working to contain the fire here. that is the late ets information we had. we'll update you within the next hour. we are live for today in the bay. >> all right. thank you. back to the developments in thailand. this morning the focus is on the rescued boy's health. they are in good condition but are not yet in the clear. they are able to see their families but only through glass windows. >> i think the biggest concern is them being contagious not knowing what they might have been exposed to and finding out

at lunchtime it is 81 degrees. our temperatures continue to climb. we are heading up to 90 degrees for 3:00 this afternoon. there will be a little bit hotter than that as you get ready to get off of work. we'll talk about what's ahead heading into the rest of the weekend. >> we don't see much slowing there. we do have a couple of lanes which continue to be blocked. your right lanes are blocked bay small brush fire. no slowing showed up over the course of the morning. i did move the camera around. 101 normally shown right here. i moved it over to the left. you can see flashing lights. i'm not sure whether or not that's the activity from the earlier fire. it may be off king road right there. we are checking on whether or not there are any structures

happening it is 59 degrees. we'll see a few clouds and it will help keep it a little bit cooler today. the forecast is up at the bottom of the screen. we check out our high temperature for today. it is up to 89 here. it is 86 degrees. we will still see 90s but not as many as yesterday. in concord we are still hitting 93, 94 degrees. in oakland today 76. we'll see 77 today in san mateo. still breezy as we look at san francisco today and highs reaching into the upper 60s there and 85 in sonoma. as we get a look at the slow clouds we can see it over the top of the building. we have sunshine, cool temperatures and breezy winds. we'll get sunshine throughout

the day. if you have a beach day it will be nice but a little bit cooler than it has been with santa cruz reaching into the upper 60s later today. we are seeing high humidity and thunderstorms and lightning for southern california and parts of the southern sierra. as we go into the day our winds will shift from the south and bring in a slight boost in humidity. it will start to feel a little bit of moisture for today, tomorrow and definitely on friday. it is when it will feel the muggiest. by saturday our wind shifts on shore. it should provide a little bit of relief. we get cool ocean breezes but not much cooler. we are looking at low 90s today and then most of the rest of the weekend in the mid-80s. in san francisco a lot of mid-60s and the high air humidity on friday. you still have a little more

delay. >> just a couple of minutes reported out of tracy. some sort of signal problems in the 5 to 15 minutes. i tried to determine whether or not it is past that signal or not. we'll probably have to wait until it gives us an update. we have no delays. we have the midday games and it will be in service. overflow parking up in the north bay as well. we are looking towards the rest of the bay. a little slowing out of the -- the bay bridge shows a light build. it is just starting to back up for a couple of the cash lanes. here through the north lane the bridge west 580 no problems getting over here. a nice dry over here. back to you. >> thank you very much.

several people are hurt after an explosion in "san prarie." it happened after a contractor >> a firefighter is dead after an explosion. this happened after a contractor reportedly struck a natural gas line. 12 gas mains have been shut down and half mile radius has been blocked off from that scene. the loveliest bulldog died yesterday morning. you may remember her from her massive tongue. she had just won that title a couple of weeks ago. the family says she died in her sleep early tuesday morning and will be greatly missed. at least she died with an honor. >> absolutely. if you're checking off the

could have been prevented? new details this morning about the tow truck company inv . welcome back. new details about the tow truck company involved in a crash that killed a city worker last month. >> we have more on what she dug up. >> good morning. she was on the job last month when a carrolled o rolled off t of a truck and hit her. we found out the company never should have been on the road. they had the permit suspended on april 20th after a string of violations. the accident that killed her happened june 13th. days later it was still operating under the name stride, pride and modesto. they were sited 45 times for serious violations including towing cars without safety restraints and hiring drivers
