looking further up here you can see some of the charred areas. that is where some at fire apparently burned yesterday. let's show you some of the pictures of what's being called the curry fire. it has spread we to 100 acres be you is about 75% contained. they made the repeated as they burned dangerously close to home. the research facility were both evacuated and some left as flames burned too close for comfort. >> we ran across the street to tell our neighbors right there wloz house is just against the hills. they had no idea.

one horse was able to escape. they aabout 50 acres burned in that fire but the blaze is fully contained as of this morning. no word on the cause of either of these fires. if we have more we'll bring that information to you. today in the bay. >> yeah. glad they were able to get that 100% contained. how about talk about news people are glad to hear about. take a look at this. our first look at the boys that were rescued from the cave. look at them all. many reunited in the same hospital room there. they are waving to the cameras. giving a v for victory sign. all were recovered from the thailand cave where they had been trapped for more than two weeks. we'll get an update.

inland areas pretty much throughout the day and temperatures warming up into the 80s in fremont. let's go to concord. i know it has been so hot the past couple of days. we'll see that in about 3:00 to 4:00 this afternoon. low 90s there today. the south bay gets a little bit of cooling. wins coming in from the northwest. upper 80s in downtown san jose. it is 90s in parts of the east bay. it is reaching 94 degrees. it is 76 in oakland and 77 in san mateo. upper 60s for the north bay. it will be a nice one. starting out with clouds and then you'll get clearing by early afternoon. highs reaching into the low 70s. we'll see an increase in humidity. we are seeing it causing showers across southern california. we'll get a boost in humidity by

friday. it is still a great time for the commute. >> no one wants the commute. right now it is much better. yesterday also an early commute. look at the east shore freeway. there is the back up. it only shows the slowing here for highway 4 and clearing by the time you get towards concord and walnut creek. no problem at the interchange. at about 8:00 traffic really builds up through oakland. that stuck around for about three hours for a pretty testy commute. we are watching minor slowing. chp confirms north 87 there is one crash there. it felt like everything should get off pretty quickly. it is really the only issue.

bart is worried about an outer shell and a concrete liner that could crack in a major earthquake. it would shave four months and save $15 million. bart plans to replace the early morning train service and other stations here in the east bay. this is where most originate. the question is whether or not it should include express service into san francisco. the tomorrow the board of directors will discuss the two proposals. one transportation advocate, bart should do bus bridges to

it's 6:44. we are starting to see clouds rolling over the south bay. it will be clearing out. as we go to campbell for our temperature trend it is 65 at 10:00 and all clear with highs reaching into the mid-to upper 80s. it will be warm but we'll talk about what's ahead for the rest of the week coming up in about five minutes. >> here is palo alto. no delays right now.

all right. inside the hospital now. >> we have a new video and perspective from a local volunteer. >> the sun is now setting. we are receiving incredible news about the young thai boys who are all in the hospital behind me. in fact thai television is putting out the first images we are seeing of the boys. they are looking quite well in the hospital. they are still in isolation. the first round of parents were able to go in and see their children today. they had too suit up in gowns and remain 6 feet. imagine laying your eyes on your children. it was ten days before they were

found in the watery cave. then another as long as eight days for the last boys to make it out. of course this country is elated with success of this operation. it wouldn't have been made possible without thousands of people taking part including a vast international effort. one of those women who volunteered traveled all the way from california to lend her skills as a translater. she felt she had do this. she is from thailand and knew she could translate instantly for all of us reporters here. >> i just want to help out because i can speak english. i can speak thai. there was a lot of need because they didn't have interpreters. i thought maybe this is a good time for me to help out my country and use my language skills. >> we watched her work with reporters from all over the world. here you can see her working

with a team from india. you know, the doctor, richard harris, he was in and out of the cave every day he was the first to assess which boy could leave and in which order. he left the cave with the other experienced divers and the navy seals only to learn his own father had passed away during this mission. so tragic news there. also that former thai navy seal member who lost his life on friday being declared a national hero today and of course everyone here just elated for what we are seeing with these young men behind me here. for nbc news bay area. >> remarkable pictures there. >> it truly is. it is just something to make your smile about this morning.

clouds will clear out just in time for the game. highs up to 68 degrees. san jose up to 87 degrees. it is hot in antioch. as we are getting dressed this morning you need all kinds of gear from a jacket. a hat will give you some shade. sunglasses a good option too. we are already seeing it across southern california. moisture moves in. it will be humid by the end of the week. it is 88 degrees inland and higher humidity. the humidity drops through the weekend and the temperatures stay the same and some 60s for san francisco. you're keeping a close eye on the san mateo bridge. >> it almost completely stuck for a few minutes. no incidents were reported over the last ten minutes. it is likely this rush of traffic that's able to get there. it is moving smoothly near 880.
