natural air-conditioning happen. we are going to have another warm day across parts of the bay area. here is a look in the south bay. we get a look as people head out the door. sunnyvale temperatures start out at 63 degrees this morning. we go from low 60s to mid-80s. a lot of sunshine in this forecast and slightly warmer than normal. we check out a hot spot. it is 69 degrees at 9:00. at noon it is already 84. heading up to 95 at 3:00 today. it will be hot for some of our deltas and valley areas. we'll talk about that coming up. >> we do. let me tell you, it's getting on from north 101 to east 92. let me show you video what's been going on. flashing lights. a larger tow truck. on the side is a big rig.

down the road. you can see the number of signs telling people about the noise in the area. it will take place this afternoon. if passed it will zboo effect in four to six weeks. today in the bay. >> all right. thanks. at 5:07 happening today a bold plan to offer parking lot access with nowhere to live face ascii hurdle. council members want to open a lot close to where blocked rv's currently line the street. for that to happen tonight they will have to focus on clanging the current zoning code. up to 20 rv's would be allowed to park. the program could start before the end of the year. he used his ride share is expected in court today. orlando is expected in a san francisco court this afternoon.

he was arrested last week. investigators say that he waited outside bars looking for women looking for their ride share. lyft confirmed that he drove for the company but has been fired following the accusations. santa clara county deputies looking far suspect who assaulted someone. they released this sketch in hopes of finding that man. it happened back on july 11th. investigators say that the suspect hit the victim with his car. pretty amazing story. a sheriff says he doesn't know how a woman survive add 250 foot plunge off a cliff. angela hernandez was discovered on a beach over the weekend. she says aftersurviving the

crash she found the piece of hose from her jeep radiator and used it to drink water from a small stream coming out of the cliff. >> on the coast with injuries that she had is amazing. she was a fighter. she had the will to survive. >> angela suffered major injuries including broken ribs. she is expected to make a full recovery. a wild fire burning. these are new images hosted fwi fire department on facebook. this morning we know that one firefight firefighter died. a bulldozer hit and killed him saturday while he was trying to create a fire line. it is one of several fires burning across california right now. that fire burned more than 9,000 acres and only 2% contained. take a look at this.

pretty crazy footage showing a brush fire. it turned into a fire nato in arizona. it happened along the colorado river not far from riverside. see that there? it spun across the water. the fire and water combining. it happened at the base of a fire rises tlau pockhrough a po air. it is really interesting to watch. >> it is interesting. right now we are also speaking of today on what's happening. one concern i do have will be the potential of high humidity and lightning. it is very warm. temperatures in the low 80s there. as we get out the door here at home we are going to see cool air and not yet any humidity. temperatures in the upper 50s as you head out the door.

the south bay right now. santa clara will see temperatures in the mid-60s during the morning and at lunchtime 79 degrees. it will be nice to take it outside. it heats up getting a look at all of our climate. 94 degrees. it is 98 in antioch today. we'll see highs at 68 in san francisco. check this out. 102 degrees today. we'll talk about what's ahead for the weekend coming up. you're still tracking the closure in san mateo. >> that's right. you can see the

there is a metal door here. workers are patching up the damage caused bay fire so if a contractor comes in do the permanent fix. it was limited to part of the roof. santa clara fire departments say there is fire inside. the restaurant was closed yesterday and monday. no one was inside. a fire department tells us that they had the fire out in 15 minutes, appeared to start near the kitchen door. they had to cut a hole to prevent it from adding to the attic. fire department not ruling anything out. nothing appears to be suspicious. as i mentioned, restaurant was closed yesterday and supposed to be closed today as well. this is video of the first on july 7th of 2014. it was just over four years ago.

that fire started outside near garbage cans. it caused much more severe damage. the restaurant did not open until a number of months later. food and wine magazine just published an article talking about how that devastating fire made it a better restaurant, that the chef was able to maintain the three star ratings over the past couple of years. today in the bay. >> thank you so much. today the man who confessed to robbing an elderly east bay woman is expected to face a judge once again today. this time he could face murder charges. prosecutors are expecting to charge him with murder during the court appearance. the 92-year-old was knocked down during the robbery in may. she had to be hospitalized and later died.

it is 5:34 right now. a pest exterminator accused of casing homes. coming back later and then swiping jewelry. homeowners hired the exterminator to get rid of rats and pests. they say the man would later come back and take valuables. he says in one case a homeowner caught him in the act. he spoke with neighbors unnerved by the news. >> his excuse was i was coming back to check on the traps. that is not what he was doing. >> it >>. >> the suspect is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from two homes. authorities are certain there are more victims. he found several complaints posted about jewelry missing. happening today leaders expected the adopt recommendations on unprocessed rape kits.

russia. certainly a first in american history. they say trump acted like an asset. will be on the today show. john says he suspects the american intelligence committee will with hold classified information because they are worried he will pass secrets on. he told the russians daurg white house visit about intelligence regarding isis. chris sat down to talk about the summit. it was a hard hitting interview. at one point he tried to hand the russian president an indictment against russian officers brought by the u.s. justice department. putin wouldn't take it.

dloo drivers in the east bay. good morning. steven williams said he felt he had no choice. williams is a ten year veteran driver. he tried to get a mentor to this rider even giving him his phone number. williams asked him to leave the bus. he says the rider sent him multiple texts threatening to beat him up. as we first showed you in february drivers have been reporting a rise in violent attacks. despite promtss that they would install shields to product drivers. it still hadn't happened. williams said he e-mailed his bosses and he was arrested. he says he regrets the decision but hopes leaders take action so that drivers don't feel the need to arm themselves. he is now fighting to keep his job. you can watch our entire series on drivers on nbcbayarea.com/we
