lanes moving very smoothly for the most part. be careful for the time being. getting towards the bay bridge here is the top number, very cool. it is to the bay bridge itself. there is fog like this. i'll tell you that because you can't really see it. you kind of tell there. >> thanks. 5:01. those young boys stuck in a cave for more than two weeks are speaking out for the first time since their miraculous rescuementrescue. i know they were just released from the hospital. how are they doing?

>> they appear to be doing good. they had been recovering for the past week. they hopped into an ambulance. the boys known as the wild bores headed over to where the press conference is still going on. they did get up on stage to show off some of their soccer skills before sitting down all of the questions hatd to be submitted in advance and reviewed bay child psychiatrist. they are speaking in thai. we are not getting a terrific translation. the boys have been talking turns during that time the water started rushing in. one said most of them could

swim. a few of them were not very strong. rescuers indicated none of the boys knew how to swim. at the time we were not scared. the water would go down and people would be looking for us. now is around the time the boys were found in the cave. they were stuck in there for just over two weeks. they had to be pulled out one by one by divers who hoisted them out through this very tight cave. it was more than a few miles

long. rjs detailed that played out over some two hours. the union city plant worker saved from a cement mixer talking about his survival story. he slipped and fell and became trapped chest deep in a 25 foot cement silo. he calls it an out of body experience and said he survived in part because firefighters sent him water and oxygen. >> i couldn't breathe. just con ver sating it kept me calm. >> how frightening. when rescuers got him out he managed to walk on his own to a near by ambulance. he is recovering from rope burns to his hands and chemical burns

on his leg. he said he is looking forward to getting back to work. >> that's dedicated. >> yeah. sleeping on the job is certainly never part of a recipe. it looks like six police officers learned that the hard way. the school fired the officers yesterday. those officers were found sleeping on overnight shifts in the library and lying about where they were. they still have a chance to take their case to arbitration. continuing coverage, president trump in the midst of a tweet storm. over the last two hours he posted at least half a dozen tweets. it is related to the fallout from putin. he tweeted this a short time

thanks. the city of santa rosa is joining the long list of those suing pg and e. the city says that last week attorneys filed suit seeking composition to the enormous cost laid out. the suit also seeks now safety measures. the fire destroyed more than 5,000 homes in sonoma county alone. right now it's 5:09. we head out the door and you need a light jacket. temperatures start out cool. they on your way here in san jose. here is a look at our temperature trend. we will see a few clouds moving by. it is at 60 and it will warm up fast. we have seen temperatures trending. by 11:00 low 80s and partly cloudy skies by noon. looking at all of our high temperatures. 63 at half-moon bay.

>> we'll see those all around the bay area causing us to have a wide range in temperatures today. here is a live look in san jose with a cloudy start as you get ready to head out the door. we'll see it clearing out. a few clouds in the mix going from 70 at 9:00. it is 90 degrees by 2:00. you know it will be a hot day. going from 70 at 9:00 to some mid-90s by 3:00 this afternoon. whatever you have to do, get it done early. here is a look at high temperatures as you make your plans. we'll talk about plans for the weekend coming up in about seven minutes. we start out with the latest back up. >> over here at no surprises. the bay bridge toll plaza, it's the fast track lane and a bit here. this has been over the last ten minutes nouchlt this is a very mild build. it is a very easy flow of traffic. we are looking at the rest of the commute.

you can see a little bit of slowing. zooming down to the rest of the commute we see a pleasant drive for the south bay. a little slowing over here. it is typical as eastbound has lanes with construction for 580. >> thanks. new this morning a controversial plan to replace a mobile home park with new town homes. just got the thumbs up from city leaders. good morning, chris. despite those objections the city council vote today move forward with this development.

this is new video. you can see they are only about three mobile homes remaining. they say it violates to protect a certain acreage and it destroyed affordable housing. the conversion the planned policy to preserve 400 acres of land zoned for mobile home park.

reopen. a storm triggered that slide last may. before the slide you can actually travel all the way through and continue through southern california. after the slide drivers were turned around. the highway will reopen at 10:00 a.m. the wild fire burning near yosemite burned more than 12,000 acres and only 5% contained. as we have been reporting one firefighter died battling the fire. 5:44. this is the first infant dpret whooping cough. they say that baby was from san bernardino county. sit a highly contagious respiratory disease. considering a $60 roll back. it was added back in 2007 after

again. we are heading up to 96 for 3:00 today. you'll notice a little more humidity today. it will make you feel a lot more sticky. it will break out easier as it reaches up to 99 degrees. check it out. 105 degrees today will be the high. if you need a hat and sun dress to keep you cool and humidity will continue to go up as we see the surge of the moisture. it is the reversal of the winds that brings in storms right now around palm springs. it could mean dry lightning meaning the rain evaporates. lightning possible or a couple of spotty showers.
