today. mid 90s for livermore. 75 in oakland, and 70 in san francisco. 89 today in san jose. we'll talk about what's going on as mike gets you out the door in the south bay. >> we'll start down there. we'll show everybody, this doesn't give it a reason to focus on any specific area. just popping up. it looks like it might be around stoneridge, and we'll get updates from chp. there's a disabled vehicle in the south bay. south 85 at central expressway, and everything is getting off to the shoulder, but i will track that. no slowing shows up. that's away from highway 101. here's highway 101. fog sticking around. that's the big note, tough visibility. just be careful across this span. back to you. >> we're following breaking news in the east bay. contra costa county deputies investigating a deadly shooping off san pablo dam road. not far from interstate 80. right now, the street is shut down in both directions.

deputies are not telling us a lot of information about the investigation so far right now. we do have today in the day's bob redell heading to the scene. he'll join us with an update in the next hour. >> continuing coverage. president trump is facing new backlash this morning over his meeting with vladimir putin. rallies were held across the country to, quote, confront corruption. protesters say the president continues to backtrack and he's not defending the american people. >> ian cole has more on rallies across the country. and here in the bay area. ♪ america >> outside san jose city hall, a rally of people angry with the trump administration over what they call putting russia before the american people. >> this would have been unfathomable to most people, including most of the gop, two years ago. >> it's one of 100 rallies like it around the country tonight. earlier today, president trump asked whether he believes russia is trying to attack america's

people like me and the others, but it's in the american national interests. >> at the next few months before the election in november are crucial. >> ian cole, nbc bay area news. >> an emotional reunion for migrants at sfo. walter lopez's wife and his daughter saw each other for the first time. first time in four years. he's from guatemala, has been living in the u.s. his wife and daughter were separated in may when they crossed the border. the 5-year-old was sent to arizona while the mother was kept in texas. the mother and daughter were also reunited for the first time yesterday when they traveled to san francisco to join walter. >> there's no way or words to describe how excited he is to be able to reunite with them tonight. it's been 55 days since he's known they have been separated, and yesterday, receiving that call has been amazing.

he's really excited just to get to see them again and know that they're together. >> lots of hugs there. not clear if any of them are facing deportation. walter says he's going to fight to keep his family here in the u.s. together. >> meantime, advocates fighting to reunite migrant families will be back at the richmond i.c.e. detention. today, protesters will deliver teddy bears for the children along with hundreds of signatures calling for their release. a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza this morning. bay area transportation leaders eye more than 500 projects meant to improve transportation and/or air quality. today is the deadline if you want to provide your input. once all public comments are considered, the commission is scheduled to approve a final outlook in late september. >> 4:35 right now. it's considered the most prestigious award giving to an african-american. former san francisco mayor willie brown, the recipient, and former president bill clinton

team usa's first match, tomorrow night at 9:30, and you can see the home team and all the teams from around the world during nations welcome ceremony at justin herman plaza at 5:00 tonight, and also some of the games live here on nbc bay area. >> for all the big kids out there. >> really big. i don't know what their mothers were feeding them. >> looks like a lot of fun, and just being around san francisco today and checking out the ceremonies, it's going to be nice but cool. and we're going to also have at times some patchy fog. we're take aglive look outside from emeryville. 63 degrees right now. all clear here. come on over and take a look at the seven-day forecast. it's ald coming up at the bottom of the screen. as we get a look at our temperatures, what you'll feel as you head out the door. right now, 63 in livermore. 60 in palo alto, and 55 now in san francisco. and if you're on your way to the fruitvale b.a.r.t. station, we'll see partly cloudy skies and upper 50s to start out the

day. maybe grab a light jacket. as we go into the rest of the day, it will be in the upper 60s by lunchtime. as we look at all our highs today, it's still going to be a very different temperature depending on where you are. we'll be at 66 degrees for the high in half moon bay, while san francisco reaches up to 70. 88 in napa. 97 in concord as well as antioch, and looking live in san jose this morning, as you're getting dressed, you will need maybe some light long sleeves, especially for these early hours. and don't forget the sunglasses today. you'll see a lot of sunshine. and probably break out in a sweat a lot easier than we normally do because it's going to be a little more humid. and we're going to feel that surge in hue madety coming in for today, into tomorrow, and receive the yellows and reds. that indicates higher humidity. when we get higher humidity, there's also the chance there could be a little bit of some lightning. now, a lot of that rain with

some of those storms could evaporate, and it just produces what we call dry lightning. it's lightning with no rain coming out of those clouds. and that could, of course, spark some wildfires. that will be a concern today. as well as tomorrow. and then the humidity goes down. we'll go back to our all clear skies and some lower humidity for the weekend. it's still going to be warm with low 90s. san francisco looking at more of the same. and some upper 60s for sunday. heading over to mike. now you have a crash on the tri-valley. >> i do. we saw it pop up on the map last time. i was stepping in front of it, but right there, off the dublin interchange. we have an update at chp. we're looking at the map. all green. whatever commute is going on right now, the commute would be southbound. it's northbound at bernal. it's off the roadway and we don't see slowing. i'll continue to track that. we'll have more coming out of the alt amont, but that's just

typical slowing for the paving work going on there. southbound 101 at cochran, we have a crash there. a little slowing as they move some vehicles around. everything should be off to the shoulder there. northbound is the commute direction out of gilroy. also across santa cruz summit, these avenues are moving smoothly as well. that road has been cleared, but bob redell is going to give us an update on the activity there. no delays on the bay bridge toll plaza, and you can see the lights across the span of the high rise. here, visibility is great. fog at the golden gate. back to you. >> thanks so much. >> 4:44 right now. chilling details emerging in the case involving a man some are calling the ride share rapist. as we have been telling you about the case, rolando lonzo is accused of picking up women while off duty for lyft and then sexually assaulting them. the district attorney says his dna linked him to four victims.

the attacks happened between 2013 and last month in san francisco. in all of the cases, lonzo picked up women from bars after they quested a ride after having too much to drink. in two of the attacks, he was accused of threatening women with a knife. in all four cases, he took away their cell phones. lonzo, an undocumented immigrant, was in court earlier this week but did not enter a plea. >> funeral arrangements are now being made for a transgender man in san francisco who took his own life. at first, when his family who disowned him did not claim his body, the community came together and raised money for a dignified and proper funeral. the 22-year-old was a city college student and came out as a transgender man last fall. friends say he struggled with the prejudice he faced. he spent much of his time at the queer resource center on campus. when it closed to the summer, he felt he had nowhere to go. >> it's tragic it had to take the death of dane for people to

say it might be a problem after all, even though it's been shouted and screamed for years. this was his safety, his community. and we took it away from him. >> now, more than $23,000 has been raised so far for his funeral. we should also mention his mother will nowternally funeral services which are still being planned. >> it's 4:51 right now. you may have noticed these two apartment towers going up in downtown san jose. they're called silvery towers. and two dozen workers were forced to work without pay. the labor department has ordered full power of property of the main contractor to pay $250,000 to 22 employees. an investigation found an unlicensed subcontractor was actually responsible for mistreating the workers. his signing shocked the sports world and solidified the warriors as the team to beat in
