more humid. yes. here is a look at our san jose temperature trends. temperatures in the low 60s and you'll see that for the next couple of hours and maybe a light jacket. there we go. temperatures up to 80. we'll be at 82 at 11:00. it will be hot again today but a little more humidity makes it feel worse. we'll talk about what's going on. >> i am. the traffic is the only place where we see a little bit of slowing here. this is at 580. it is before you get to the merge. everything else is nice. another crash off of highway 35. it may cause slowing. i'll let you know as chp gives us more information on that. it does move smoothly. we have slowing for 580. there is a tire in the roadway. i don't want you to get tired by

received criticism for a leaked policy for the associating press that could suspend or fine players who protest on the field. it is a team policy there. the league and nfl players association have agreed while the two sides work on a resolution. the new league rules challenged in a grievance. you'll recall former 49ers quarterback started kneeling during in 2016 to call out police brutality, social injustice and racial inequality. a number of people have criticized the process as being unpay tr unpatriotic and called for the firing of those players. they say all options are still open with regard to its policy. they will address it. the nfl came up with it as a

during the morning it will be 78 degrees. you'll probably want to get out there early. it will be heating up. we'll be in the upper 80s and have the world cup. if you're lucky enough you'll have beautiful weather, highs in the low 70s. if you're following me on twitter you may get a personalized forecast if you let me know where you're going this weekend and it's going to be hot for the inland areas. i have updates on social media. low 90s over the next couple of days. next week really not changing too much. it will be hot. san francisco keeps the upper 60s and low 70s through next week. now we have a traffic alert. >> we do. overall the bay has a great kplut. we have slowing in the east bay. this is on the peninsula side. both directions are currently shut down. this is between 280 and 35.

that is reading towards skyline. there is a crash. it sounds like there are minor injuries. this is a smaller stretch of roadway. they have shut down that portion. that cuts off half-moon bay from 280 on that direct route. you'll have to use it for the time being. that's farther north. traffic is very light right now. as the day continues the commute builds and the temperatures get much hotter. folks will head towards the coast. if it's not clear in the next couple of hours it could be a problem. right now you're okay. over here south 880 continues slowing from out all the way through union city. road work is still going ton. it was supposed to clear up at 5:00. a couple of lanes southbound 880. there are three lanes opened. over here the bay bridge

court. aclu will take on the trump administration over separating migrant families. we are learning how many children were reunited with their parents so far. chris is live for us with what today's court case could mean for immigrants. good morning, chris. >> hi there. sit the fifth time in two weeks they will be in front of that federal judge in san diego ever since those family separations started with that zero tolerance policy at the mexico border. thousands of children remain in facilities separated from their parents. trump administration will ask for more time to reunite the children and parents. the aclu wants time for parents to have time to decide whether they will seek asylum once they are reunited with their kids. here is where things stand today.

the july 26th deadline to all families remains for now. 364 children were reunited with their parents. 2,551 are still separated. there is a 5 point plan that makes sure children fit to get their children back. a judge paused deportation pending the request that families have more time to decide whether to pursue asiylu. they will have to explain why each and every child was not reunified with their families. it could take some time. if you want to see more about that what the government is going through i posted this to my twitter feed. today in the bay. >> all right. thanks for updating us on what

could happen. >> disturbing allegations. santa clara si it was an inappropriate relationship. it worked add synergy. they caught him with a 17-year-old girl. the two were reportedly parked after hours. they didn't tell us if anything happened but he is facing several charges including sexual assault. deputies do not believe there are any other victims. authorities in the north bay say three men behind the dispute over marijuana that ended in murder. it is in connection with the death of a man found on wednesday. deputies say that relatives of that victim reported him missing in late june. investigators eased to gather the dispute which resolved around a large amount of pot.

it is 5:43. now to a terrifying ordeal for a san jose man. she w he was robbed at gunpoint. police released these surveillance camera images on the suspect. he is seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, glasses, black gloves and you see that bandanna. he got away with the victim's cell phone and wallet. he took off in a silver or gold four-door sedan. it is a crime that got a lot of people's attention. it is all caught on camera. this morning the suspect is expected in court once again. we need to warn you, you might find this video disturbing. police say 58-year-old samuel kicked the homeless man on the sidewalk last month. today his attorney is expected to ask the judge for him to be released on bail. police say he is also on a

separate attack. in that incident he is accused of slamming a man's face into a railing breaking his nose. you have probably seen trash on streets in many parts of the bay area. the city and community are coming together to address the issue. this weekend will be the first of several neighborhoods in the city. tomorrow's event starts at 8:30 until 11:30. there will also be two more clean ups, one on august 18th and the other on september 29th. 5:45 for you. days after their meeting president trump has invited putin to the white house. >> this really caught everyone off guard. >> even his closest advisers who presumably would know all of the secrets. for instance the director of national intelligence, dan coats was in the middle of telling him he didn't know what happens at

we will have mild weather. low 60s as we get this day started. you're on your way to the bart station. we'll see a few clouds here and there throughout the morning. upper 60s at 9:00 heading into the low 80s. temperatures reaching into the low 80s by early afternoon. it is kind of that weather you break out in a sweat a little bit easier. temperatures are not as high as it has been recently. antioch reaching 96. it is 89 in san jose. in palo alto expect a high of 83 degrees. here is a look out the window this morning. mostly clear start and i have these icons on here. give you an idea how to plan for the day. because of the humidity i think you should wear a hat or a t-shirt to keep you cool. we are looking at all clear conditions. i have been monitoring the chance there could be lightning
