it will be in the upper 350s. it stays nice and cool. we see temperatures reaching 76 degrees. look at the trivalley, parts of the north bay as well as the south county we reach into the 90s and the triple digits today. it will be a very hot day. i want to get you a look at what's happening ton roads this morning as you get ready head out. we have a couple of noninjury collisions around the bay area. we are looking at what's happening on 580 right now and also coming down into the fremont area. look at the green sensors. looks good as you get started early on this wednesday. we'll have a look coming up in a few minutes. >> sounds good. happening today this man accused of stabbing an 18-year-old woman to death on a bart platform. he is due in court. in the meantime a memorial is

growing. today in the bay joins us live. that man was arrested on monday. what should we expect next? >> good morning to you. as you mentioned the suspect in all of this was arrested just a couple of days ago. in a few hours it he did appear in court. he does have quite a wrap sheet. it was just in 2016 he robbed a lucky store in that area. in may of this year he was released from prison from asked armed robbery. he was arrested here for as little as the suspect on the double stabbing on sunday night which of course resulted in the death of nia wilson not to mention she also on probation for battery and drug convictions. he claims he suffers from schizophrenia. it doesn't bring much comfort

it will be great. they always have it on the last weekend of july. it is always so hot. >> yes. the good thing is that this year it won't be unbearably hot. i'm thinking about 90 degrees for friday and saturday. here is a look at cooler temperatures in san jose. we are going to see things starting out with sunshine. temperatures in the low 60s heading into the upper 70s by noon and low 80s by early afternoon. there will be some spots that will be a lot hotter. checking out concord's temperature trend for today 73 degrees at 9:00 and then we go into the upper 90s fairly quickly. if you have any outdoor activities try to get those done early in the day. we will have cooler temperatures. santa cruz reaching into the upper 70s for this afternoon. now as we get an update on what's happening on our roads

this morning we are getting a live look outside. everything is rolling smoothly as we get a look at our computers and the maps and we will see a couple of troubled spots we'll have to track this morning looking at once again some of the issues we have seen popping up. we have a little more slowing coming out. we have been tracking an issue on highway 4 coming into brentwood. it is a noninjury collision there that may slow you down just a bit. as you head over seeing a one slow down on 580 that's going to slow you down there. one issue that's still giving us green sensors on the road. it doesn't look that major. on 84 it is caumoving a lot mor slowly. it is going to be something we'll have to watch as we go into the next hour or so.

broadcasting. trump tweeted so sad and unfair that the fcc wouldn't approve the sin claire broadcast merger with tribune. it is a very different sort of merger. understand the fcc did not report to the president. it is an independent board and republicans criticized when he went on the internet to say the fcc should reclassify broad band to get that neutrality rule into place. the president generally speaking shouldn't tell the fcc what to do. president trump and obama seem to have no problem with it. >> okay. thank you. we have new video of a rocket launch. it went up at about 4:45 this

morning. they have more upgraded landing legs which speeds up the turn around time for reusing the booster. mountain view's google is giving back to the community with a million dollars grant to assist the homeless. they say the google gift will provide a new group of resources that includes cold weather shelter, showers and expanded program and kitchen that will double as a job training site for the homeless. get ready for candy topia. it just wrapped up a pretty popular run in l.a. they call themselves if confection nar exhibit. everything is made out of sugar. it will open in september. you do have to buy tickets in advance. i took the triplets to the ice

well. try to get those things done early. during the middle of the day there is the flex alert as temperatures heat up. you will want to find other ways to stay cool if possible. if you're on your way heading out the door here is a look at our temperature trend. low 60s during the morning hours and then with a lot of sunshine we are heading into the upper 70s at 11:00 and at noon. it is 81 degrees. here is a look at our highs for today for our inland valleys. reaching into the upper 90s today it will be hot for several hours and most of our valleys hitting those temperatures at about 2:00 to 3:00. it will be the hottest time of the day. in san jose high of 88 degrees. still cool for half-moon bay. if you're planning to head to half-moon bay here is a look at how those temperatures shape up as the day goes along. partly cloudy skies throughout the middle of day and sunshine

francisco will keep it cool with upper 60s the rest of the week. let's get you out on the roads this morning. let's take a look at fremont. we are going to see some of those roads that are going to be moving. this is actually dublin. we are going to see a lot more people out on the roads and a lot of people coming through. of you can see the red sensors there. we have also had one problem if you try to take the alternate route and get on 84 going westbound. we have had a noninjury collision. it is causing a little bit of a back up there. as we go over here going on 580 heading southbound we have had a noninjury collision there. some of the yellows showing it is slowing down just a bit as people try to get past the accident and heading over to 38. here is a look at 84 once again. it is going to be slow, maybe a back up of about 30 minutes and then looking at mass transit, no major delays. we are looking at bart trains,

it will be a hot one around the bay area. le let's check in right now. not so lucky right now. here is a look outside. chp saying we have got some very dense fog going across the golden gate bridge. we have two lanes going into the north and three lanes going south right now across the golden gate bridge. you play have to deal with patches of fog here and there. here is a look at our high temperatures. it will be hot, even hotter than yesterday. antioch reaching 99 degrees. in napa today reach high of 93. san jose high of 88. san francisco keeps it comfortable with a high of 70. here is a live look. i want to give you a look at the roads as you get ready to head out. looking at our maps we are seeing mostly green sensors across the bay area.

today. it manages the electrical supply. there is another one for today, wednesday. more people turn on their air-conditions. to help reduce this is flex alert. ask you to limit your use between the hour of 5:00 and 9:00 tonight. those are the hours they do not want you to be using appliances and turning on air-conditioning and such. here are tips that helped reduce that demand. they want you to set your thermostat at 78 degree os or higher. it raises the feeling of the temperature by 4 degrees. you can put your ac at 82. it doesn't feel the same. keep your doors and windows closed. tilt the blinds up. wash your clothes with cold

harmless. the search is on this morning for the woman behind a brazen robbery. police released this video showing the suspects walking to a lulu lemon clothing store. they rushed out. police say that they took more than $100,000 worth of clothes. stores in berkeley, san jose, gilroy, san mateo all have been hit this month. it is not just happening here in the bay area. the fresno police department released this video showing the same three women raiding a fresno location. new research says misconception about sunscreen could leave you burned. most of us get less than half the protection than we think because we don't use nearly enough. most apply sunscreen much more thinly than advised. experts say they should use the equivalent of a shot glass to

have beach plans this weekend. let me know the place that you're planning to go to. you may get a personalized forecast. let's get out there on the roads this morning with a look at our overall view of the bay area. we normally start to see the slow downgoing 101 north coming out of san jose. we are seeing that right now. things should ease up here in the next few minutes. that's a typical slowing. this is showing a lot of red sensors. we have had a couple of noninjury collisions looking at 580. we have a hazard here but things are slowing on 580 north and southbound. we are heading towards 84 where there was an earlier crash. that has since cleared. we still see the back up there. it is maybe going to delay you a few more minutes.

here is a look at our temperatures. it is 62 degrees and it will be what you'll feel as you head out around 7:00 and mid-80s by early afternoon. it will be slightly warmer than yesterday. we'll talk about where we may hit triple digits and cool coastal temperatures coming up in about five minutes. well, in you this morning for you, it is summer. maybe you're thinking about heading to an amusement park. you basically have two options, oregon orlando or southern california.

candidate endorse bd by preside trump won last night. he is showing off his truck which he says he can use to round up illegals. those were his words. he won the primary in georgia beating the current republican lieutenant governor. this sets up quite a race for november between camp and a democrat. the first african american woman to run for georgia and get the nomination. if she were to win the first african american woman governor any where in u.s. history. now, in washington president trump meets with the head of the eu to talk about tariffs today. president trump sent out a bunch of tweets about tariffs in the last couple of hours. something to watch, you're aware president trump likes the very longha longhand -- long handshakes.

firefighters trying to figure out how to take the dog out. she said she left the window open and believed the dog was fine. firefighters do not have the authority to issue citations but reminded people cars can get extremely hot. you can't do that on these hot summer days. >> it is hot there. or take a dog with you inside. >> we really don't mind that. we are going to have hot weather. here is a live look outside this morning. as you're making that drive visibility is all clear. things are looking good. we are starting out with temperatures in the low 60s. as we go through the morning kpl commute it will be a little bit warmer. we'll be at 70 degrees. we'll see temperatures heating up fast there. we are heading up to 100 degrees by this afternoon. the seven day forecast is up at the bottom of the screen.

san francisco not changing that much. the inland valleys is when we'll feel the change the most. going to the bart station expect it to be at about 61 degrees. you may need light sleeves heading out the door. as we go through the day it is going to heat up fast so you'll want to wear some. breakers up to 11 feet and they may sneak up on you. you may look fairly low and once it arrives at the shore it raises up higher than some of the other waves. we'll also have the risk of rip

currents. if you get caught in one let the rip current carry you. once you get out of it you can come back to the shore. the best advice, no swimmings specially if you're not an experienced swimmer. as we look at our santa cruz forecast it will be so nice there you don't even need to get in the water to stay cool. it is starting to feel more comfortable in the 80s. san fran san francisco will see it in the 80s. it has really backed up. expect to wait a little bit longer there looking at the o r overview our maps show sensors. we have had a couple of problem spots to watch.
