water spilling over the dam. as of this morning, the 8 80-year-old structure is still holding. >> the dam is stable at this point. >> reporter: the dam is heavily damaged. if it were to give way, the water level would rise 17 feet in seven minutes. about 150 homes evacuated as a precaution. >> the all clear has not been given yet. we ask that folks not return to the areas. >> reporter: all along the coast, heavy winds and strong storms leaving a path of destruction. residents in queens, new york are cleaning up after a rare tornado toppled 50 trees which crushed homes and cars, but no one seriously hurt. >> a lot of folks were already inside and not in the middle of rush hour traffic. >> reporter: 70-mile-an-hour winds and intense rain downed trees and drowned cars in

albany, new york. flash floods in north carolina inundated the floor of this hospital with several inches of water. >> the first call i got was from the surgeon saying there's water coming into the operating room. >> reporter: power crews are working to fix the lines in winston salem. drivers were stranded as powerful storms pushed across new england. good news for people living around the dam, the rain is letting up. there are tens of panhandmillio the northeast under flash flood watch. i'll have more in the forecast coming up. thank you. we want to turn now to embattled ohio state football coach urban meyer. he is speaking out this morning saying he failed when he was asked if he knew anything about domestic violence claims against his former assistant coach. he now says he was aware. this as the former assistant coach is speaking out as well.
