investigating all leads. continues coverage after fires burning across california. the carr fire up north. the holy fire down south near los angeles and mendocino fire burning near us. this is the biggest fire in our state's history. today california leaders to come up with a plan to boost fire safety. all of this coming as the fires in mendocino and lake counties continue to break records it combined 283,000 acres are burned. as of late last night the complex fire is 30% contained. 75 homes are gone.

burned. it is 6:05 right now. if you happen to notice tighter security there's a reason for it. bart is putting officers to work six days a week at ten hours a day. it comes after a series of high profile incidents. along with beefing up patrols they are also asking to improve a $28 million safety and security action plan. it includes enhancing cameras, raising the height of fair gates and banning panhandling at the areas. they say it's unfairly targeting poor people. >> just because someone is for it doesn't mean they pose any kind of risk besides making people feel uncomfortable. >> i'm all for it. i know several people that are scared. >> safety and security action

what do we know at this point? >> reporter: good morning to you. no gridlock this morning on the eastbound side of the bay bridge. we know that the suspect is still on the loose. chp is looking for the suspect in all of this. the victim in all of this has been identified. the identity we are getting the 31-year-old darryl stinnette of mesquite, texas. we know that is the victim who has been identified. the suspect is still on the loose. chp is trying to track down the suspect in all of this. the description is very vague. we know it was either a silver or gray car. chp believes that the shooting appears to be targeted. that shooting that took place yesterday took place around 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the bridge. officers say that the suspected
