process to start up a plane. this is a q-400, not an easy plane to start up. it is a propeller, a prop plane, and it requires a number of steps to go through to start it up. he went through all of that perfectly. so should there be a way to literally have a code that every pilot must punch in in order to start up the aircraft? there is no ignition key, no lock on the door. maybe that needs to change. >> just lock the door you would think. >> tom, thank you. now to that breaking news overnight, hundreds injured when a wooden pier suddenly collapsed at a festival in northeast spain. bill neely has the very latest. bill, good morning. >> good morning. this was the climax of a weekend festival in a spanish port stir, a long boardwalk out to sea. a rap artist was on his first song when he told the crowd to

do something that would cost them dearly. as one concert goer said, that was the worst moment of my life. the end of a night's festival and suddenly disaster. the ground disappears, a wooden boardwalk plunging into the sea and with it hundreds of people desperately trying to scramble clear. we were jumping, and then suddenly, boom, she says. and everyone fell and was crushed. the rap singer had just asked everyone to jump. they did. the 100-foot long wooden boardwalk couldn't take it. we all fell, she says. i tried to get out, but people kept falling over me. there was panic, arms and legs broken. rescuers came quickly, divers were sent into the sea to search for anyone trapped underneath the pier. so many people were trying to escape, she says. most of those hurt are in their teens or early 20s.
