oakland today 69 and 65 today in san francisco. we'll talk about the heat up ahead. mike, you're starting with the highway closure. >> this is coming towards the bay bridge. in the north bay of sonoma. it is closed all the way down to highway 37. it is pretty critical. 101 is still very easily accessible. there was a crash, an overturned big rig. it's not the dirt that's the problem. it's the fuel. there's a lot of clean up going on since 2:00 this morning.

first a live look in london. a man crashed his car. it is already being called an act of terror. this is a security camera video that there was actually the car swerving. the highlighted area where he swerved into the barriers. the car struck several bystanders including bicyclists. amazingly no one suffered any major injuries. they have arrested the man. they say he's not cooperating. we'll continue to keep you updated throughout the morning. >> now to breaking news. a bridge collapses early this morning. authorities don't know if anyone is dead or injured but a lot of

casualties here. they just posted this photo of the damage left behind. the entire bridge gone. we did some checking. that bridge was completed in 1967. it is more than 3,000 feet long. we'll stay on top of that all morning long for you. we'll bring you updates as soon as we get them. here at home the search is on for whoever stole a police cruiser overnight. do we know how this happened? >> yeah. good morning to you. as you can see behind me the this is all behind me. the only thing is that officers were on a call somewhere in oakland when this suv was stolen and eventually left here. it is roughly a couple of hours ago. this is where it was found right where i was showing you in this dead end area.

the only information we are getting from oakland police is it happened between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. that is where this was stolen. unclear where it was stolen from but it was left in this area. they are searching to hopefully help them find the suspects. at this point no one is in custody. as we get more information we'll bring it to you in the news room. today in the bay. >> all right. hope they catch him. leaders are debating the future of city sponsored force. a city audit revealed serious mismanagement. the audit called for immediate changes. council members are looking at moving the youth sports program over to the parks department. >> a heartbreaking story impa t impacting the students and staff

there. a law student fell off of a cliff there. the 23-year-old ignored a safety pitch. this was in oregon. he reportedly wanted a closer picture but slipped and fell down a steep embankment. search teams have been looking for his body. he was a law student interested in racial justice and civil rights law. south bay water leaders debate the future of access for pot growers. so back in april staff members advised against trying to charge cannabis goers more money for excessive use of water. it is something that would have had to happen at the state level. today they hope to hear from

good morning. wall street has a rebound from yesterday's losses. the dow falling for a fourth straight day. the country's currency hit a record low raising concerns of a little over other immerging markets. the dow falling 125 points to 25,187. >> google the track you on the web even if you turn off the

location history option. it continues through google maps, weather updates and browser searches. it prevents them from adding to the time line feature. they say you can turn off the activity feature to get google to stop tracking you. google spokesperson says purpose and function is clearly spelled out to users. introducing a new facetime feature. now the company says that is being delayed to a future update later this fall. it will allow us to 32 participants in the video call. apple is kind of linked to the group chat. they launched its own feature while facebook messenger also support group chat. back over to you. >> wow. >> yeah. >> thanks a lot. do you suffer from allergies?

today and may limit your time outside. this is for all of the bay area even including the coast. check out the seven day forecast up at the bottom of the screen. as we get a look our highs reaching up to 85 in concord. we are coming down from the very hot temperatures we have had recently. much more of an ocean breeze helping to cool us off even for the inland areas. it is 79 in san jose. we are keeping the same temperatures in san francisco. santa rosa reaching 77. live look outside in san jose. getting dressed this morning it is the day for light long sleeves that will keep you comfortable throughout the afternoon. if you're going to the a's game it will be at about 61 degrees. so that's a call for the long sleeves, the jacket and maybe even a hat to keep you warm with

breezy winds kicking up. as we go through the seven day forecast it will heat up again. enjoy this little break with most of our areas reaching upper 80s. mid-90s for the weekend. there may be triple digits and then it gradually cools off for the beginning of next week. san francisco will have slightly warmer weather and more sunshine for saturday as we clear the shelters. we'll talk more about that. you're tracking one big issue for the north bay. >> that's right. as we look at our sensors everybody from the south bay including the south county. all the way over just a little bit of slowing. that is typical overnight. we are seeing that build off with 205 and 580. we have a closure that connects 116 and highway 37. there is an overturned big rig. it is a little bit to the north.

101 itself is moving just fine this morning. so is the area here. it is also clear. we don't know when the spill will be cleared but i'll continue to track that. ton east bay we are getting towards the bay bridge. that is just fine. the rest looks great. no delays over there. it is for pittsburgh. here the toll plaza has a little back up. that's it. no problems getting over towards san francisco. no delays for the early transit riders. back to you. >> thanks so much. according to a new report an unusual large number of immigrant detainees. the l.a. times spoke with a southern california congressman that says up to 40% of those

detained at the victorville ice facility are of indian decent. many are said to have left india because of prostitution against supporters of two political parties in recent years. more indian nationals have tried to interview through mexico. it is 4:49 right now. leaders today take the first step in adopting a new school safety plan. they will debate the local roll outcall out calls the sandy hook promise. millions have already signed it to protect children from gun violence. the safety plan includes programs meant to encourage students to be more inclusive. school starts this week far lot of students across the bay area. it is also true for students at

good tuesday morning. could be a refreshing break. we'll check the forecast. it is 4:53. responds to a woman who had a run in. >> good morning. caramel was in a parking lot and felt a bump. on employee was pushing stacked up grocery carts and accidentally hit her car. this is a photo that she took. you see more of it right now. she says the store manager also noted that damage, took photos. a month later safeway's insurance company denied it. she pushed back but didn't get any where. she turned to us. the very next day they offered to pay her repair bill which was

overdrive when the north bay fires broke out. they have helped hundreds of displaced and hurt pets that includes a cat separated from etc. owner. that owner found the cat and posted on the shelter's web site. this is the reaction when they were reunited. >> i'm so happy. >> we lost our home but we didn't lose our kitty. i guess that's where they found him. >> she looking for his home. most are reducing those adoption fees. you might want to do that right now. >> we will be out on saturday
