investigating a shooting near the bart station. this is a photo the department tweeted out last night. it happened on san leandro street. at least one person is injured. police are not saying a lot about the investigation. a call to end late night jail releases, protesters rallied last night after a woman was found dead hours after she was released. she is now vowing to make changes after a mother was found dead back in july. she died from an apparent overdose after being released from the jail about 1:00 in the morning. she reportedly walked nearly 2 miles to the bart station where the trains were not running. her family says she had no cell phone and no way to contact them. >> not knowing how they are going to get, you know, the a different destination or have someone pick them up and not

even seeming to care is such an unfair practice. we are personally livid. >> she is working on a bill to stop late night jail releases and give inmates help to get home. a new deal between the city of palo alto and stanford. the city says negotiations took two years to complete. the new agreement includes a settlement over a prior financial dispute. bay area universities are also getting back to class this week. today the chancellor will unvail plans for this school year. she is expected to discuss topics like free speech and diversity issues. it will be a busy week at san jo san jose university campus. >> yeah. this afternoon those students will be getting ready for school this week. chris is live on campus with

what's different this year, chris. >> the president will welcome the spar tans back. there is a record enrollment of 35,000 students so campus could be a little more crowded than usual. if you haven't been here i'll tell you there is a lot of construction. some of it right in the middle of that construction phase. here is what they will highlight today. sit 65 new tenured faculty which could help students get classes they need to graduate. the near completion that's supposed to be done next year and a new dorm for 1,600 students and a science building. also a permanent food pantry in collaboration with second

wife and two young children will be formally charged with the heinous >> today a colorado father accused of killing his wife and two young children will be charged. he faces first-degree murder charges. they say the body of the suspect's wife was discovered from a shallow grave from an oil tank. the three have been missing since monday. bullying claims made by the reigning miss america. she said grechen carlson and others have. posted this statement on twitter saying she is saddened by the claims and denies the

locked police station door to a man who then pulled a flief on them. police shot and killed them. donating from one drink sold to the family. chp officer appealed in a crash on i-80 earlier this month. he was on the side of the interstate when a car slammed into them killing them both. sean walker is facing charges for this crash. police say he was on his phone at the time. it is taking place and money raised will also go to the manuel family. you might want to stop and take a quick look at this. chp was hoping to hear from everyone who may have been behind this crazy scene hear.

they experienced this yesterday morning. one of those cars broke down during the side show. officers were able to arrive to that scene and make an arrest right there. chp says other drivers were on top of it. they were calling 911 as well as filming with their phones. >> we have actually people calling it in as it is happening so we know where it is happening. we can use that video to help with any charges that are filed. we are very grate l fful for th. take a look at that car. that one broke down and now that driver is facing multiple felony charges. officers also managed to pull over several cars there exiting the bridge. some of those drivers received citations. filed a new class action claim. this is across california.

>> looking over here you expect delays here on the upper east shore freeway. they are both back to normal. the crash has cleared from i-80 westbound. the bay bridge does have a back up. we are seeing more traffic build. i was holding them up and this map shows you some slowing across the san mateo bridge. on your left side you see one incident. no major problems and a quick look shows you a good steady problem. we do see low clouds. it will effect the temperatures. i only look at the temperature gauge on my dash board. >> i thought you were going to say only on the weekends. >> yeah. it will finally cool down a little bit. >> it is so hot over the inland areas. this weekend coming up if the you have plans to get outside it will feel much nicer with highs
