for san jose state a fall semester. it will be a cloudy start. it will be warming up. overall a pleasant and sunny day. we'll talk about what's ahead coming up in a few minutes. we have an update on a crash in hayward. >> yeah. it's a great one for the south bay. the first couple of weeks really seem to disrupt the late morning kplut coming through san jose. a lot of traffic expected. looking over here you saw that. this is 880 coming towards 92. a crash turned overpass. it should clear soon. traffic sensors show a little improvement. i'll wait before i give you the

clear there. a nice flow of traffic right here. the back up is at the bay bridge. the curve, look at that. it moves smoothly. back to you. >> all right. thanks. >> could bay area victims of the golden state killer get a first step towards justice today? in a few hours prosecutors have a meeting. today in the bay is there with what we can expect. >> reporter: yeah. he could face charges of rape, torture or kidnapping. the district attorney's office located here behind me. this office is yet to comment. they believe he is also the man known as the east area rapist.

deanglo has been charged with 13 murders across the state. it would be the first law enforcement agency to charge him with rape. we know the statute of limitations there are none for kidnapping and torture. orange county before the murders took place. he could face trial down there instead of up north in sacramento where he has been making his regular court appearances.

it's only about 20, 22 minutes from highway 4 down to the back up. great stuff here. a big look at the bay shows you no real problems. here is south bay with a little slowing starting to move in once again. we are looking towards hayward. it moved to the shoulder. we are down to the yellow sensors. speeds are adjusting in the 50 miles per hour range. you can see that shift again. the back up and we are met that on the back up about 23 minutes. we say thank you but the person's name is wayzer.

for city sponsored events. it takes place tonight at 7:00. changes could be coming. pete the live with a closer look at this impact on drivers. good morning, pete. >> reporter: yeah. good morning to you. it will be stloor what we see already around san francisco. it is available for buses to work their way around traffic. it will happen some time around this year. they traveled to get around the traffic. the controversy is that it can also help out some of those private transit buses. we are talking about the tech buses and hospital shuttles as an example. we'll show you when this project goes into place. it is called the project. the plan is to begin implementation this year.

you can see an extent in san francisco. it is to 34th avenue. now, more than 52,000 riders used the bus on geary. the idea of that is to create plans to work around. according to the san francisco examiner they revealed that the lanes could also be used by private transit. it include ts tech buses and hospital shuttles to name a couple of examples. it has thrown in most of the attention when it comes to the project. it will include traffic signals and protected left turns as it helps drivers in the area. the future of this project will be discussed more at length during the board of directors meeting at 1:00 p.m. today in the bay.

all right. we are hearing about changes for bart recovery mode. we are working on if there's anything more to report. the delays expected are being in recovery mode for the one station. the rest of the system is looking great. so are roadways. it is starting to slow and starting to build. this is the problem. the one big problem we have is this alert. both directions are effected. chp officially says both directions are stopped up. that is a problem as folks travel near 280. if you need to go now plan on taking the longer route through 280 and highway 1. locals for the area will know that as the option. we use today have a lot of problems. >> yeah. >> we know that because the tunnels are there. today the issue a crash.
