an arson investigation at a san jose restaurant. right now at 4:30, two breaking news stories. an arson investigation at a san jose restaurant and a stabbing at a fremont b.a.r.t. station. i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. thank you for joining first, we want to go to the stabbing investigation near the fremont warm springs b.a.r.t. station. >> bob redell live at the scene. what have you learned so far, bob? >> well, good morning to you. a couple hours ago, around 2lic 30 this morning, there was an adult man stabbed on an access road or in the parking lot here at the warm springs b.a.r.t. station. b.a.r.t. police have taped off a section of warm springs boulevard in front of the station. there's some objects in the middle of the road, like a white plastic bag. don't know if that's something

that belongs to the victim. the victim's condition is unknown and they have not made any arrested. they do not have any suspect info as of yet. i spoke with a police lieutenant who tells us they have surveillance cameras and they're trying to review them to identify the suspect and hopefully get a description out there or track this person down. as a result, there is limited access just in the front of the station. really just a small section of warm springs boulevard. all the other entrances to the station are open, and train service is up and running. it is normal. this is not affecting b.a.r.t. service. it's not affecting your way in the station outside of this one section. as far as your morning commute is concerned, this will not have an impact. reporting live, bob redell, today in the bay. >> good to know there, bob. thank you. more breaking news. investigation under way right now. in south san jose near monterey and old holly road.

>> kris sanchez live there at the scene. what have you been able to find out? >> you can see the investigators up on the roof of this cafe paradise. you can see them looking at something there on the rooftop. no flames now, but there were flames earlier as our crew arrived here. this is not too far from the fairgrounds in one direction, oak hill cemetery in the other direction, and the plant shopping center in the other direction as well. as the fire got pretty well involved and seemed to burn pretty quick, it was put out. it is put out at this point, but at this point, investigators are saying this is a suspicious fire, and in fact, as our crew arrived here earlier this morning, the owner spoke off camera, but on the record, saying this is the fourth time that this restaurant, this cafe, has been targeted for fire. some time in the last bit of time. we're going to try to get more information on that from the firefighters. they're busy right now, as soon as they come down and they're able to talk, we'll ask them

further about this arson investigation. in san jose, kris sanchez, today in the bay. >> thank you very much. sglo right now, we want to look at what we can expect with the traffic today, with your morning commute. let's head over to mike. limited access was talking about. get you located for the second one. kris was talking about the fire just south of tully proper. as we're looking at the traffic flow. tully road not effected and monterey does appear to be open. but i'll confirm all of those aspects since she's on scene. meanwhile, the traffic flow throughout the south bay and the rest of the bay moves very nicely all the way through the east shore freeway where we have construction work going on. slowi you down through el cerrio and maybe debris in the road. b.a.r.t. access, we talked about, you'll see flathsing light at the b.a.r.t. station as you arrive to the wong springs station. as bob showed you, the investigation for the stabbing, the police activity is just outside the parking lot, but you

can access the parking lot and the station is not affected. b.a.r.t. runs on time thisead. >> we to step out the door. here's a live look outside at san jose. we have few clouds overhead as we're going to have a mostly cloudy morning and temperature starting out in the low 60s. 62 degrees at 6:00 and then seeing temperatures around noon at 71 degrees. as we get a look at all of our high temperatures for today, san jose reaching 79. 81 in antioch and concork. in oakland today, 69, and 78 today in napa. as we get a look at an update on hurricane lane, it's a major hurricane and still getting ready to move into hawaii. for more information on that, let's send it back to you. >> thanks. back to developing out of hawaii, hurricane lane. that is reallythere.

>> the people are bracing for it. this is a look at the radar as the powerful storm churns toward thisland. it's not expected to hit directly, but it could bring extensive damage to hawaii. >> ian h c the crew are helping out. >> hurricane lane is zeroing in on the hawaiian island. a research aircraft flew into the eye of the storm that was downgraded from a category-5 to a cat dpoirgory-4 storm, but it's still doing to pack a strong punch. >> be prepared to shelter in place. 14 days of food and supplies and water. >> passengers arriving at san jose international from hawaii got out just before lane hit. >> we just got back, so we totally lucked out. and we were literally getting the warnings the morning of our flight. sure if they'll because we're going back to honolulu. we don't know what's going to happen. >> there's help on the way from bay area. 36 search and rescue personnel along with canines from san francisco, san mateo, and santa clara oahu.

there. it will clear out a little bit sooner in walnut creek, and pretty much the same start with some low 60s. but then getting slightly warmer as we go through the day, by 2:00 at 76 degrees. a very comfortable. and here's a look at the south bay temperatures with cupertino reaching 78 degrees, and 82 in morgan hill. looking at some low 80s also for thin martinez, 77. and 69 in oakland. and up to 74 today in redwood city. we have had some brisk winds that kept it cool. and those winds will continue today with some highs in the upper 70s for much of the north bay. as you get dressed thig, light long seves will keep you comfortable all throughout the day and don't forget the sunglasses because we'll have a lot of sunshine. here's another update on hurricane lane. we can see the outer rain bands covering much of the island right now except for kauai at this point and there's already rain coming down. flash flood warnings in effect and also hurricane warning as

the storm gets very close to a oahu in the next couple days. keep in mind how wide the storm is. it's going to continue to bring rain bands between tonight and throughout the day on friday. and then by saturday, it should weaken to a tropical storm as it moves away. here at home, we're looking at cool temperatures over the next couple days. only slightly warmer on saturday with a high for some ofur reach degrees. check out next week, in the upper 70s inland. in san francisco, we'll also be nice and cool. we're looking at more steady temperatures here, staying over the 60s over the next few days. morning clouds and fog and even some drizzle at times. now, as we head to mike, you have been tracking the roads. everything looking good? >> looking good. we do have slowing for the upper east shore freeway. i want to show you the view from the emeryville camera. there's university, the golden gate field. not really lit up. it's smooth, easy, relatively light drive. slowing confirmed in a

construction zone as you head down through el cerrito and richmond. just restricted access to some of those lanes. no other problems. contra costa county looks great. north bay, no delays. speed censors are great everywhere except for right behind the shield. right by our camera. i see what looked like a recovery that smoothed out in the last 90 seconds. a disabled vehicle has just been cleared from the roadway. the onlyish uyou might be worried about is we're following a story of a police investigation by the warm springs b.a.r.t. station. there is no impact to the b.a.r.t. access at the station, and we have seen no delays for b.a.r.t. following reports on the investigation, but know you're just fine throughout the b.a.r.t. system right now. back to you. >> thank you very much. >> 4:49.

new this morning, attorneys representing undocumented immigrants separated from their children plan to file a complaint today alleging threats and coercion by i.c.e. agents. immigration attorneys are filing the complaint with homeland security. attorneys say undocumented parents were forced to sign forms they did not understand. those forms regarded their children. the parents also say they were not allowed to ask what would happen if they refused to sign. in some cases, those parents ended up giving away rights to be reunited with their children. i.c.e. has previously denied similar accusations. >> also new this morning, actor kevin spacey is facing another sexual assault allegation. prosecutors are saying that the incident happened in october of 2016, and they are investigating. this is the second sexual assault allegation against spacey. the first one dates back to 1992. spacey also under investigation in six cases in london. >> it's 4:50 right now.

more in fighting among santa clara city leaders. the mercury news reporting the city council has admonished fellow council fmembers for failing to replace a member who resigned after he waw accused of sexual harassment, which he denies. now, they have reprimanded two other council members for waiting until an election to replace him rather than selecting one now. the admonishment is nearly a symbolic action. >> using technology for public safety. the city of el cerrito announcing plans for a network of security cameras along a popular walking path. we previewed the story yesterday on today in the bay. there are already five cam installed on the greenway trail, but they haven't worked in years. now police want to update and add more cameras there. neighbors wpo say ey >> we feel like kind of insecure. that's why we need more cameras.

you and thanks for joining us. i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. we want to go to mike inouye for the impact this could have on the b.a.r.t. station. >> good morning. folks, you saw the video that bob redell sent to us from the warm springs station. the police investigation continues. when you arrive at the station, you'll see a lot of flashing lights and police tape. trust me, be patient. watch where they direct you. that affects the access in the parking lot area, but bob tells me the station is not affected and i see no delays for b.a.r.t. we follow the investigation, but b.a.r.t. access and schedule just fine at the warm springs station. we're looking to the maps. no problems on the roadways. the earlier crash was cleared from 580, and we still have tr whe overnight grinding work is going on as you travel through the area approaching richmond. we'll track the slowdown. it's expected, but it's also expected to clear up right now. for more on breaking news, back to you. >> a busy morning. breaking news in the south bay
