officer punching a suspect in the head. many are saying the officer went too far. >> we have more on this story. the police department is resbonding to this video. >> yeah. they responded pretty swiftly here. it is hard to watch especially when you don't flow the reason for the violent takedown. we'll warn you the video you're about to see is violent. >> we blurred the suspect's face. you can clearly see the officer on the right striking the man on the ground nine times. you can also hear people saying don't beat him. we did drop that audio because there was a lot of profanity there. once the suspect was there he did get taken off in the patrol car. police say around -- [ no audio ] >> 9:00 a 14-year-old girl called police saying she was

stuck in a man's car and he would not take her home. they began chasing the suspect on foot once they located the vehicle. the suspect runs and trips outside the restaurant hitting his face on the restaurant door. they say the officer struck the suspect with the flashlight because the suspect refuse today release his left hand from under husband body in order to be cuffed. they say he was taken to the hospital to be checked out. at this point he faces charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment. police tells us the investigation is not complete. dpd would like you to know they would use all to ensure they are lawful with training and procedures. reviewing statements, cell phone video and body warn officer
