"early today" starts right now. we have breaking news out of niabama this party. at least six people were shot and one of thehasti life threat. the gunfire erupted during an altercation between several individuals attending the party. police have detained suspects at the event center inside the blocked off area. they say these individuals may be responsible for the shooting but so far no arrests have been made and investigators are interviewing witnesses. >> a final fairwell to a maverick. john mccain laid to rest at the u.s. naval academy in annapolis. it followed a week of public events including a moving memorial at the national cathedral in washington. it brought together former presidents from both d.c. with he was remembered. >> reporter: final honors for an american original.
