florence which has made landfall-- 5:00 on your friday morning. we are tracking hurricane florence which has made landfall. live look at the radar right now, folks up against a really huge storm that is going to just sit and churn and rain for a long time. kari hall is monitoring that for us as well. good morning to you. thanks smuch for joining us. i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm scott mcgrew. marcus washington has the day off. we'll get a check of your weather in a second.

>> let's take a look at maps and overall contra costa county looks pretty good. yellow arrow is one of the things we're pointing at north 680 at red gear road a crash just came in to chp. no real problem. you see more slowing on 24 eastbound that's traditionally what we see outside the caldecott. that is not a problem. this is the problem for drivers coming off the east shore freeway and the carquinez bridge. lot of slowing as folks come here and off of that san rafael to richmond bridge as we're looking at the focus of the construction zone around gilman. looks like things started to pick up because the speed sensors are improving and supposed to pick up around 5:00 anyway. the rest of the bay a smooth flow of traffic, no major problems. slowing on 17. there are no crews headed to the summit. it's a slower read because we have no problems. we have low cloud cover in the north bay but drivers seem to be fine. what do you have for us? >> it is going to be a clear morning for most of us as we ea wilmington, north carolina.

this is a live look from our storm plalphia station down to the hurricane, so we're getting a very detailed view of this hurricane as it continues to move inland. right now, wind speeds at 90 miles per hour, moving very slowly only 6 miles per hour and as we look at the wind speeds with this system, that will stay as we go into the afternoon as it slowly makes its way off initially to the southwest, and then starts to make more of a northerly turn as the tropical storm by the end of the weekend. here is a look at some of the peak wind speeds, i've just gotten in at cape lookout peak wind gusts of 106 miles per hour, and ft. macon at 105, also the same in wilmington, so imagine wind speeds coming from the southwest and turning more northwesterly and once they get on the other side of the eye the winds will shift from the northeast so that's going to bring down a lot of trees within the next few hours. we will avehave more live updat
