bay bridge good morning and thank you for joining us. i )m marcus washington. . good thursday morning. as we take a live look at the bay bridge. >> summer hanging ontoday, right? >> oh, yeah. and also with the hotter temperature, we're concerned about the high fire danger. we do have a red flag warning in effect for bay area hills. for all those areas shaded in red. so, we'll have those microclimates in an alert today as the winds increase and decrease in humidity. wind gusts up to 35 miles an hour. here are the winds, picking up throughout the day but the dry, northerly wind will cause a lot of concerns. you need to be careful with any

sparking out there today. let's head to campbell, see our temperatures head into the 80s, well above normal. mike, you're just tracking the road crews. >> we are. we're looking at no major problems over here. this road crew has an issue through livermore, slowing communicate, around -- 84 sees the. clearing. we haven't seen any other problems. no other traffic coming through the area. coming across through cocoa county, we see w ts that richmond, a few cars, hov, back he area getting from to san rafael. no sign of palo alto professor christine blasey ford ever since she accused brett kavanaugh of sexual assault.

>> all you need is a chance. we are now transitioning from baseball to football weather. and it's still definitely baseball weather out there. it feels like summer. as we take a live look at the coliseum once again, we have clear skies and no fog issues as you get ready to head out. the seven-day forecast is coming up at the bottom of the screen as we talk about a red flag warning coming into effect. that means conditions will be right for fires, any sparks to spread rapidly because of thesi. as those winds descend down the hills, it actually warms up and dese our winds in oops could gust up to 35 miles an hour and all these areas shaded in red is where you have to be really careful with any sparkings and that includes the santa cruz mountains.

as we monitor that, we start out with cool temperatures. we're in low 50s in parts of the north bay. mid-50s in san jose and heading down towards morgan hill. 55 degrees in san francisco. as you make your way out the door for work this morning, maybe heading to the pleasant hill b.a.r.t. station, we'll be in the upper 50s. it's still a cool start. as we go through the day, we're looking at those highs reaching into the 80s. but we'll be on trend for quickly warming temperatures today. look at how hot it's going to be. up to 96 degrees today in concord. livermore, we're up to 94 degrees. 88 degrees in san jose. we went from fall-like weather in a snap to summer weather. we'll see that for the next couple of days. as you get a look out the window, make sure you grab a jacket for the early hours. later on today, you'll just try to stay cool with maybe a sleeveless shirt and shorts for this afternoon, especially if you can make it to the beach

today. santa cruz it starts out cool but look at these afternoon temperatures. it's going to be so much more comfortable there along the coast compared to what we'll have inland with highs reaching 95 degrees today. this will be the peak of the heat, though. we'll gradually coming down off this heading into the weekend but it's still going to be pretty hot going into the start of next week. as we head over to mike, you're tracking a report on the bay bridge. >> we had reports of a disabled vehicle blocking one lane or partially blocking one lane as you get over to treasure island. we haven't seen any slowing around the curve but that's where the disabled vehicle that ran out of gas is reported. should be off to the shoulder. if not off treasure island at this point. we'll continue to monitor the reports until they clear that at the top of the screen. all the way down both sides. look at that, green, green, green. that's a great drive down through the south bay. no silicon valley slowing. south county northbound 101 does

not show any problems. this is where we'll see some slowing later on in the commute as folks come into morgan hill. thursday afternoon may see more folks heading down towards the summit. actually thursday, early afternoon, that may be a factor. keep that in mind as we take another live look. the camera looks like it had a little problem but we had no issues getting over to the b.a.r.t. station into the dublin interchange. no need to reset anything else. the b.a.r.t. system coming through that area, the tri-valley as well as the rest of the trains look great, all these systems, no delays. this is the last weekend it's scheduled to have the west oakland closure because of track replacement. this is near the lake merritt station. i'll tweet out that information as well. getting towards the bay bridge, they're moving slowly across the span. the backup at the toll plaza starting to clear out right now. >> thanks, mike. 4:50.

it's a dog owner's worst nightmare. luckily a patrol officer in arizona was able to stop a man driving off with his vehicle, with the dog tied to it the vehicle. the man headed out of the gas station, headed to the interstate when the officer noticed the dog. he activated his siren and got that driver to stop. he was very appreciative of saving had his dog's life. new doctors that are on probation cannot hide it anymore. >> california became the first state to pass the law,it syeste. it's meant to inform patients if their doctor has committed sexual misconduct or other wrongdoings. there's some way to find it online but now doctors will have

look at traffic this morning as people are getting ready to get out the door. >> we have an issue on the bay bridge. let's take you to our shot from emeryville. it may look just fine. i want you to notice the foreground, the slower moving lights. that's not beautiful as folks travel across the bay bridge. the incline from the san francisco side pushing over towards treasure island. a disabled vehicle is blocking one lane. you can see slowing through the tunnel. on the other side, the san francisco side, everything is just fine getting towards the city. that will present a bit of an issue. the backup at the toll plaza looks standard this time in the morning but they may turn the metering lights on pretty early. that's westbound. getting through contra costa county, same thing to alameda county and the rest of the bay down through the south bay and coming up from the south county things are looking clear. no problems, no fog detected on our road weather index. what do you have for us?
