inspection form for us. both fake. but we found the name and driver's license number taxed to the account belonged to a real person. we tracked him down in last. when we called -- have you ever driven a lyft? >> no. >> you've never been a lyft driver? >> not once. >> noted idea what we were talking about. >> confusing. >> he didn't want to use his name but did he agree to talk on camera. his identity was stolen and used to create the account. >> there should not be a way for someone with just information to open not a account in my name without being able to prove and verify that it is actually me opening the account. >> but it has happened time and time again. we found dozens of complaint. people claimed their identities were used to create ride share accounts. here if california, the dmv investigates counterfeit driver's licenses a driv eputy chief said his

office can look into fake accounts but much of the responsibility lies with the e really do to the company. to put the process in place, is this the person we're dealing with? >> lyft acknowledges the cracks in their identification system. take the case of the ride share rapist. he fraudulently misrepresent himself. >> the company declined our interview requests saying only what is being described is extremely concerning. wave dedicate t fraudulent behavior which may result in immediate deactivation from the platform. uber pointed to several measures it uses to prevent account sharing and detect fraud. it says just because someone creates an account doesn't mean they can use it successfully.

degrees. if not slightly warmer than that. you can see toward the north bay. dry and breezy. we'll to have watch for that. lake county. and napa county. the temperatures climb through the 70s and 80s. low 90s. so notice where the fire weather watches are at their peak. northern soliano county. that's where we'll find the driest conditions. and here you go. the high pressure building back across california. it looks like it will peak on wednesday and then very interesting here. this area of low pressure. that will be a big game changer. san francisco, possibly into the 80s mid-week and then a big drop in temperatures. we're talking fire danger.

play. >> we have one individual who died of suspicious circumstances from the home and now someone has vanished. >> the autopsy report shows that he had recently gone to a hospital with injuries doctors suspected were domestic violence related. but both would not cooperate with authorities. the police tell us they repeatedly questioned lassiter as a potential person of interest in both cases and can't rule him out at this point. he declined to talk with us on camera. but in a brief telephone interview, he said he feels unjustly target by fairfield police. the lieutenant who is heading both investigations dismisses that allegation. he says investigators want to be able to rule out lassiter as a suspect. >> frustrating for us. not being able to sof it. they don't know where he's at.
