second grade. >> this brings back so much pain. i thought i was over it but i'm not. >> reporter: her family forced to move twice. >> these past couple of weeks have been the hardest of my life. i've had to relive this trauma in front of the world. >> reporter: the world heard her story. the senate judiciary committee is planning to push forward with a key vote in just hours. that would set the stage for a full senate vote on kavanaugh early next week. let's go to nbc's tracie potts on capitol hill. so what will this morning's vote mean ultimately for the nomination? >> reporter: this morning's vote is a recommendation out of the committee. and they've got several options. if all republicans stay on board, that means they can report favorably to the senate

if not they can report unfavorably, they can go without a recommendation or they can not erow port at all, which would cause the sen toot jump through hoops. bottom line it could lead to a full senate vote and the white house says they're confident kavanaugh will be confirmed. >> the president was thrilled with his testimony. he was strong, passionate, convincing and because he was telling the truth. he is going to get confirmed. >> reporter: so here's a timeline of how this could happen. the full senate is ready to take what they call a closer vote to begin this process on saturday. then they have to skip a day on sunday. then on monday they could begin up to 30 hours of debate, setting up a possible final vote as early as tuesday. >> as if the drama couldn't get
