>> reporter: we did, literally petaluma boulevard. it slowed down traffic on the 101 south here in petaluma. you see police here on the scene, you see traffic moving a little better than when we first showed up. this wasn't the first accident in this area early this morning. we want to show you video from overnight at around 1:00petalum. reminder of the slick roads with the rain stag. i want to show you video up north. you see the rain coming down, so really that will be a concern all morning. right now there is not much rain coming down or any rain at all

toll is rising in indonesia following an earthquake and tsunami. overnight, it's jumped to more than 1,200 people. search and rescue teams are working around the clock. the 7.5 magnitude quake struck friday on a central island triggering a tsunami. several roads, and buildings were destroyed. if you are checking bike delays, airport workers are planning to strike in more than 13 countries. here's a live look at sfo, where workers plan to protest this afternoon. baggage handlers say they don't own enough money they only have a few benefits. happening today at sfo a construction milestone for a newly built on site for travelers. it's built near the entrance. this afternoon, workers will hoist the highest steel beam. the new hotel will feature a

business conference room and several restaurants. it is set to open this july. as we get a look at storm ranger this morning. we are tracking the rain across the bay area. some of the heaviest rain has been over the north bay and still remaining offshore, this will be making its way in as a lot of this activity has been moving off towards the north and east, as we get a closer look at parts of marin, sonoma, napa counties, we are seeing that rain really pouring down in some of those spots, as we head into san francisco the rain is getting going again, light showers moving into the city. we head down the peninsula, where there are pockets of heavy rain on the san mateo bridge, also moving out of the santa cruz mountains over towards palo alto, we will see rain approaching here shortly. light rain in san jose, with this now just starting, we could

see light showers starting to impact the roads as this system continues to move through. we see a lot of that rain starting to move in as we go through the the day. this will be the case mostly for the coastal areas and the north bay. by 1:00, we are seeing breaks in the clouds and sunshine coming through, it will be very muggy today and some showers as times that will linger into tonight as well as early tomorrow. so we do still have a lot more of this system to get through that could bring in more rain as we head through this forecast. a i'll be tracking that, we'll talk about our temperature trend and another look at the radar. mike you were saying you have two new crashes? >> i do, in addition to the one pete reported. pete was at the scene of an earlier crash, he showed you that car, that spun out. there are slick conditions, you saw that over here, we're going away from the bridge, counter commute. i seen flashing lights continue

with see pockets moving through parts of the north b lot of northern napa county the rain is pouring as well as northern sonoma county, santa rosa around 101, it's going to be very soggy as times. we look at san francisco, we start to see that rain working from west to east. so we are going to see a lot of the city covered with downpours. we head down the peninsula, 101, 280, they're going to be wet, as you drive further to the north, redwood city seeing pocks of heavy rain move by. looking at the south bay the wran is getting started. a -- the rain is getting started. it takes a while before it hits the ground, you may see a couplt a problem. there are pockets of heavy rain. this is set on its way towards

the north bay as we go into the next hour or so the largest view shows that area of that disturbance spinning off shore. we will be in for this rain for a little while longer at least through most of the day tomorrow. so far, rainfall totals in the north bay have popped over an inch of the bay. ukiah, over a half an inch. much lighter for san francisco and the berkeley hills. what kind of care day is it in let's check out the frizz factor. put on the hat and go, it's going to be humid weather. humidity will be high and tt su breaks out from behind those clouds. i say it's a hat day today. as we look at the forecast, south bay, east bay aren't going to get much out of this. we will see this targeting the coastal areas. san francisco and the north bay.

as we look at the future-cast, it does show we will have a slight chance of rain, mostly late tonight and tomorrow for the south bay and east bay. we will be watching out. rainfall totals, it looks like most of us will get a quarter of an inch or less. as we look at parts of the east bay and the south bay, our rain chances do continue through tomorrow, highs in the mid- to upper-70s. as the rain clears out, humidity drops. thursday will be a beautiful day. highs in the low 70s. we will warm up in time for the weekend. for san francisco the rain tapers off by thursday. heading over to meek that rain is rainy at the toll plaza. >> it is the bay bridgel drople volume build and also remember once you get to the san francisco side of the bridge,

fremont street, you have the restrictions over there, the closure underneath that transbay transit center continues. the changes to developments and the repairs they're doing over here. the north bay a couple spinouts in petaluma, towards a little puddling off the roadways, be careful, slick conditions as well. you can tell that by the green highlights of the maps. that's just wet and more rain coming through the area, over here, westbound 24, we had an earlier crash and a spinout there, another spinout around fish ranch road, slick conditions, no injuries, one you see slowing, that's recovering, the south bay has that rain coming, as carrie talked about the roa ove san mateo into palo alto, not a major concern just yet. no impact right now to bart,

start to see the rain moving into san jose, expect to have to turn on the windshield wipers. once again we have issues with the car being dirty and the roads being slick. make sure the windshield wipers are working as we deal with the first rain of the season. you are attracting the crowd at the bay bridge growing? >> that's how it happens, over here the bay bridge. it works because it's about 5:30. we typically turn on the meterihali' enthis v we offer. see on a tuesday, maybe some folks are holding off, because they heard a about smooth drive damp conditions, wetter than the north bay. you see the green highlighting. >> that translates to slick conditions for drivers throughout the northway and san francisco. we drive across the bay

moving in that direction also ten or 15 minutes the rain will be picking up, backing off for a while, east bay, oakland, extending towards san ro money, over towards brentwood, very heavy rain starting to pick up there. some lighter showers as we go down the east bay down to pleasanton, fremont, we are seeing the rain making those roads fairly wet out there. san francisco picking up on heavy downpours as well, we are going to see that rain continuing to move through. not as much on the peninsula, but we've also seen some moderate rain for belmont, heading down towards losaltos hills, north of san jose. we are seeing the rain moving through right now. we are going to see more rain throughout the day as this moisture will be drawn in. see
