nice onshore flow. and it only warms up into the 60s by 11:00 a.m. we will have some frost in the 80s today, plus our next chance for rain in a bit. >> we do have one crash up in san francisco, a single car involved. it should be cleared from lanes quickly, as marcus was talking about, we may have a issue past the pittsburg bay point, the b.a.r.t. station is affected, because in north parking lot it's currently closed. there's a nearby fire and this has been set as one of the evacuation points. there is no delay reported right now, but b.a.r.t. is saying use the next station because of the parking restriction. >> in fact we have new video of the evacuations in contra costa

housing valves for a chevron natural gas pipe loon catches fire last night in baypoint. they had a power line fell on the structure following a grass fire earlier in the evening. fire officials do say this specific line is isolated from other pipelines, did you that doesn't mitigate the threat of a possible explosion. we want to show or viewers there are about 4,000 people evacuated, and 4,000 people from about 1400 homes. the area, you've got north broadway to the west, summer way to the he east, suisun avenue to the north, and of course we'll continue to monitor this with

good morning, i'm kate rogers. here are today's top business headlines. wall street pointed toward a slightly slower open. the market fell yesterday after the minutes from last month's meeting showed that the central bank is still convinced it needs to keep raising rates. there were disappointing earnings from ibm, and declining housing start. the nasdaq slipping two points. facebook has tentatively and not state sponsored hackers. they found the people behind the attack were facebook and instagram spammers posing as a digital company. they taye hackers stole data from 29 million, fewer than the

and we are following that breaking news in contra costa county. a grass fire is threatening a natural gas pipeline, a vault that houses valves that caught fire after a power line fell on the structure. evacuation orders are in place right now. nearly 4,000 people have already

left the area. we've got teams live on the scene gathering more information. we'll have another report coming up at 5:00 a.m. 4:45 for you right now as we continue to follow what's going on with the weather today? what about the winds today? >> i was going to mention that. we're seeing a increasee decrease in the offshore flow, and that significantly died down those winds. i'm pretty sure a lot of folks noticed ever since they canceled the warnings, and thankfully since we're not dealing with gusty conditions it should help with that aspect. as far as the temperatures, waking up in the 40s and 50s this morning. 51 for san jose, 49 through palo alto. our temperatures feel slightly cooler in some parts. we're still seeing some of that dense fog through santa rosa.

limited visibility right through santa rosa, in through napa, parts of the hayward area as well. we'll see a deepening marine layer, right around the 8:00, 9:00 a.m. hour. as we head in towards the afternoon we're seeing some pretty seasonal temperatures, a couple spots about five, seven degrees warmer, your microclimate highs today. in through concord 85, and further inland we may even get spots warmer than 89. san francisco at about 76 degrees, but a quick reminder we're still checking out the swell, dealing with dangerous waves. this will remain in effect through the possibility of seeing some pretty tall waves of about eight feel. sneaker waves and rip currents are always a danger. never turn your back to a wave.

involved. and the activity might be visible as far as smoke going into the grass fire fire. there's evacuations for this portion of baypoint, north of willow pass road, and on the other side of the freeway and salivary church. and we're tracking the whole thing, but no delay is reported for the b.a.r.t. system, though avoid the north parking lot, because people are gathered there. the toll plaza, no back up, no problems, and we're talking about the issue for a b.a.r.t. parking lot. no delays for those lines. i'm taken it out of the yellow and put it back to green. there's no other delays other than the fact that there's the temporary transit center, and

fremont a street was reopened he this week. it's 4:48. we have a follow-up. an airman now confirmed as one of the victims in a fighter jet crash in the ukraine. that happened 175 miles southwest of kiev, during exercises involving planes from nine different he places. a second pilot from ukraine also died. the crash is under investigation. prosecutors say more victims are coming forward in the case against a california surgeon and his girlfriend. that couple is now accused of drugging and sexually assaulting at least seven women. the doctor and carissa riley pleaded not guilty in the case and are out on bail.

teem to get him back on the road. >> this is his pride and joy, a 1963 ford falcon conversable he bought back in 2015. you might think the engine might leave a 55-year-old car parked, but no, he couldn't legally drive it because of, all things, trouble with the license plates. he had the original license plates. parent that is a big deal. he even got them refurbished, but the dmv wouldn't let him use the plates. why? the state said they were already registered to somebody else's 1963 ford falcon. john says he tried to explain that was his car, but he simply couldn't convince them. he then asked us for help we contacted dmv and the same day john said dmv got in contact with him and straightened out everything.

in just moments. thank you so much for joining us. >> good morning. a kind of cold start. >> it's chilly in some spots. you'll definitely notice that the temperatures are in the 40s and the 50s, but san jose right now 51 degrees as you make your way outside, so definitely a light sweater is needed. 56 degrees in the hayward area right now, 50 degrees for the santa rosa area. they're still dealing with the fog early this morning, recording low visibility up through the portion of santa rosa, also some areas just north of the golden gate bridge. if you notice, whatever cloud cover we do have, expect that to clear out quite nicely by midmorning. let's check in with mike. >> we saw some -- we'll show that in a following report, but i did want to show you the speed sensors are fine there.
