4:47 am
starting out dry. here we are at noon. we start to see that moving into much of the north bay, and this is what the radar could look like, showing a lot of yellows and reds, indicating some heavier rain moving into santa rosa, napa, and then approaching fairfield, and then for the south bay, we are still going to see some of that rain holding off until later on this evening, while the peninsula and parts of the east bay start to see that rain in time for the evening commute. so scattered showers linger into tonight and for tomorrow, we're going to have more waves of rain moving in, especially during the afternoon to evening hours, and it just gets heavier as a stronger storm moves in, and this could also produce some gusty winds and heavy rain that will continue throughout the day on thursday. so with the first round of rain, we're looking at mostly about a quarter to half an inch across the bay area and once the stronger storm gets here between wednesday and thursday it's a much heavier and pretty good
4:48 am
soaker there with the gusty about 50 mil pls, as we go through the forecast, several storms will be rolling through, and expect another one to move in on saturday. so we're tracking all of that, several waves of rain in the forecast, which of course is great news. we just don't need the flooding and the wind, so i'll be tracking that as we go into the next couple of days. mike, what's happening with the police activity? >> we're not clear on exactly what's going on but we know from talking to the police in san pablo you're not able to use one portion of a busy roadway out there. as we look at most of the freeways, they're moving smoothly. we have that construction and the closure, looks like a big stretch but only at embarcadero for north 101. zooming up toward san pablo itself, san pablo avenue, the main road here e tendibetween 2 broadway that stretch may be closed for five or six more hours. there's something big going on
4:49 am
