temperature as you head out in the north bay, a little chilly. if you're taking public transportation, you need to bundle up because temperatures in the low 40s, mid-50s and eventually we'll climb to upper 50s. we'll climb into low 60s for the afternoon but we have to start off with the cooler temperatures first. as we head in towards the weekend, i am tracking another round of showers pushing through. i'll break down the timeline for that coming up in a bit. let's get a check of the roads with mike. >> vianey, we just showed pleasant hill and b.a.r.t., no problems for temperatures or for delays for b.a.r.t. we do have things to report, capital and ace train, we'll show our drivers. but the bay bridge toll plaza showed a backup relatively late, about 5:30 when they showed all lanes backed up at the toll plaza. we see a pattern forming as they slow down around the berkeley curve. san pablos, those slower spots are starting to develop through

concord and pittsburg. we have a crash working on the shoulder. we see light volume through hayward and light slowing into union city. the northbound routes with a little push into san jose and a little slowing as folks head to the dumbarton bridge. new this morning, for the first time we're hearing from the woman who was accusing former 49ers' linebacker ruben foster of domestic violence. foster was cut from the team and quickly picked up by washington's nfl team. >> "today in the bay's" bob redell joins us from levi stadium. >> reporter: one bit of a revelation. the woman who dated former 49er ruben foster on and off for a number of years admits she lied to the court here in santa clara county when she recanted domestic abuse allegations against foster earlier this year. in an interview this morning with abc news, alyssa ennis says

foster did, in fact, attack her at his home in february but she dropped those allegations because she says she loved him and as part of, quote, a money scheme. she tells abc news now her love for foster is gone after he allegedly slapped her in the face during a fight this past november at the 49ers' team hotel in tampa bay, florida. foster has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. the 49ers did cut the linebacker from the team. ennis is stunned the washington redskins snatched him up right afterwards. >> when he got fined, i was like, i can't believe someone picked him up. i can't believe they didn't believe me even when the 49ers came up there. i have pictures of the 49ers coming up and talking to the police and said, i'm the same ex-girlfriend who sat up there and lied. i thought he was changed.

anybody in my position would have done the same thing, you know, if they shared a family with this person. he used to come crying to me saying he didn't have anybody. if someone you love telling you they don't have anything, you do the same thing, too. that's why i did what i did, because i loved him. >> reporter: explaining why she recanted those allegations earlier this year against reuben foster. even though he's on the redskins, the league won't allow him to practice or play until his legal issue is resolved. they will, however, allow him to collect his paycheck. we have within the past 30 minutes reached out to the santa clara county district attorney's office and the san francisco 49ers to get their response to this new story. reporting live in santa clara, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> it will be interesting to see if they say anything. >> that must have been very difficult for her to speak out as well. thank you. 6:03. new this morning, parents of young children, check your

medicine cabinets. trice formcy is recalling infant ibuprofen sold at cvs, walgreens and dollar stores. some you might have heard of like equate ibuprofen concentrated, oral suspension, cvs infants ibuprofen and well family infant ibuprofen. all the oral drops ones, basically. the affected lot may have, potentially higher concentrations of ibuprofen. that higher potency could cause infants to develop permanent kidney problems. babies also experience nausea, vomiting, headache and other gastrointestinal problems which may be associated with the reason why you're giving them that medicine in the first place. be aware and check your cabinets. 6:04. new details of a teenager behind bars in connection with homicide

in san rafael. it's a story we've been following since tuesday. police say officers found 21-year-old friedman shot and killed behind the wheel of a parked car. they made that discovery at pickleweed park on canal street. witnesses told police a man ran from that scene after shots were fired. following an investigation, police later arrested a 17-year-old teen from fairfax. he is being held at the marin county juvenile hall. happening now, a final farewell for former president george h.w. bush. his body is lying in repose at st. martin's episcopal church in houston, texas. after four days of very public tributes and memorials, his family will say one last private good-bye. yesterday around 3,000 people filled the national cathedral in washington, d.c., including every living president and world leader. following a funeral today, president bush's body will be

transported by train to his final resting place at the library on the campus of texas a&m university. he will be buried next to former first lady barbara bush. 6:05 right now. happening today, b.a.r.t. could make a move to speed up maintenance management for its elevator and escalator units across the b.a.r.t. system. let's take a live look outside at walnut creek b.a.r.t. station. kind of quiet right now. it gets busy there. if you are a regular b.a.r.t. rider, you've probably heard some of these announcements they're making on the platforms, talking about outages. the agency's board of directors will vote on that new pilot project this morning. if it passed, b.a.r.t. would install a remote monitoring system on 81 elevators and escalator escalators. that would help notify workers if a unit breaks down. also this morning, b.a.r.t.'s board will take up a parking issue. a lot of people have had to sign up on a wait list to park their cars at antioch stations because it's been so busy. the agency will discuss possible resolutions for those problems.

6:06. you may recall earlier this week we told you about cheesecake factory's free giveaway. it sounded like fun. that was until things got completely out of hand. take a look at this long line here. a lot of people trying to get ahold of those free cheesecakes. this was at westfield valley mall -- valley fair mall, i should say. kris sanchez is at that creasecake factory this morning. what we saw here was pretty tame compared to other cities. >> reporter: yeah. we're talking about at least one arrest and very long lines, very bad parking jobs. a 40th anniversary celebration that was really a little less than festive. you showed us the scene at valley fair mall at cheesecake factory where i am. these are one of the folks who showed up for the 40,000 slices of free cheesecake, offer nationwide to celebrate the

factory's 40th anniversary. door dash app was to deliver them for free. you can see drivers in the red shirts waiting for the slices. cheesecake shut it down early and at that point the line of people was out the door, the line of cars was down the street. some of them door dash delivery drivers. now, in virginia near washington, d.c., at least one person was arrested. the crowd inside and outside the restaurant got unruly with folks double parking. one of the folks police asked to leave refused to listen and struggled with the officers. that person was arrested for disorder ly conduct. there's no mention of any of what happened yesterday with the cheesecake factory giveaway on their website but there is an offer for free door dash delivery on meals and desserts through next tuesday. we don't know at this point whether this was an effort to make good or if this was a previously planned promotion. i did reach out to cheesecake factory and door dash, which, of course, is based here in san

well. we start clearing out nicely up to the north bay in through the city and along the peninsula. by 5:30, 6:00, not a cloud in sight. we get clearing conditions through friday morning. as we head into tonight and tomorrow, don't be surprised if you do catch patchy fog along the coast and through the interior portions and through the north bay. temperatures at 36 degrees for santa rosa. one of the coldest spots this morning. 56 for napa down through the interior valleys, we're talking low 50s. into the afternoon, here's a look at what you can expect. upper 50s in san jose. in through the east bay, 60s as well. we've got the peninsula temperature a little breezier. we'll go into the 60s across the board the next seven days. the next chance of rain doesn't move into next sunday. we have plenty of time to enjoy the sun. >> or dunk the basketball. i don't want my buddies to give me a hard time. 10 feet.

lane heading towards the golden gate field area. we also have this fill, which is mild. we might see more cars hit the roadways. the capital corridor there's a signaling issue so they have systemwide delays. it's almost a half hour for that delay now. 6:31. this police shooting may be a little hard to make out. it shocked the community. officers killed a man inside a san francisco barbershop and this morning the family of that man that was shot and killed will announce plans to file a lawsuit against the police department. "today in the bay's" sharon joins us from san francisco. i understand you got the complaint just minutes ago? >> reporter: yes, that's right. the arab resource center just sent me the complaint. you may recall this shooting happened last march and several victims got caught in the crossfire, including a police officer. this happened at the barbershop, the dramatic video released by police shows the chaos that

unfolded in the barbershop. police say the family of jaheed eid called 911 and said he tried to break into the garage. police later spotted him at the barbershop and that's when police say he fired at police nine times. officers fired 26 shots, killing him. five others who were shot, including an officer, survived. at a heated town hall meeting, barbershop workers and some families said police could have approached him differently. the police chief said he would look into those concerns. the complaint says eid was a palestinian muslim and claims police were, quote, overly aggressive in attending to this situation. now, the family is expected to release more details of this lawsuit in front of city hall at 11:00 today. reporting live in san francisco, "today in the bay." >> thank you. it is 6:32 right now. new this morning there's a mystery in morgan hill. livestock owners hope you can

help solve. it vovldz tinvolves the goats i video. they usually help fire prevention issues, chomping on brush. over the thanksgiving holiday weekend, thieves stole at least 20 of the goats from their home base on a farm in morgan hill. necessity also stole a trailer which has since been found but without the goats. some are pregnant. goat owners say the theft has crushed their business. if you know anything, you're asked to contact the santa clara county sheriff's office. san jose police are talked about an organized crime bust in the south bay. special agents arrested four men last month. they're accused of manufacturing and selling drugs across the bay area and transporting those drugs across state lines. agents conducted raids at warehouses in the bay area and four other states. in the bay area alone, police say they seized more than 800 pounds of marijuana along with steroids, hash oil, ecstasy and weapons, including a

rocket-launcher. some of it, we see right here on your screen. investigators say that bust was two years in the making. 6:33 right now. new this morning, targeting -- target, actually, is reaching a statewide multimillion dollar settlement over allegations over illegal hazardous waste disposal. the state district's attorney and alameda da announcing the corporation will may more than $7 million. in a statement, target spokesperson said the company had, quote, made significant progress in the way we handle hazardous waste. 6:34 right now. new this morning we're learning muni's driver shortage is almost twice as bad as first started. as "the chronicle" reports new analysis shows on any given day the sf mta has nearly 1900 full-time drivers available. 2300 is the number needed for service. that shortfall is more than twice what the agency reported over the summer. the driver deficit is causing a lot of delays and overcrowding. happening today, the head of

south 680 and 84 as well, just heading down from sunol. a crash before the castro valley "y" slows down. that makes things lighter on the transition towards the nimitz. the middle of your screen there, west 80 around gilman, things are slowing down. looks like a tow truck has arrived and you'll find traffic bunching up around golden gate field. there's the bay bridge. i'm looking at fast track lanes. closer to us is an easier drive, lighter flow of traffic. i know it's more distracting is the awesome look at clouds and sunri sunrise. >> very picturesque. >> i did that for you guys. >> thank you. >> you're so talented. >> put it on the refrigerator. >> do you study art on the weekends? >> big weekend for it. >> speaking of the weekend, the rain will not follow us into the weekend but it may creep into our sunday night.

it's a give and take. saturday coast and inland temperatures will be in the upper fiblgup upper 50s and low six. we'll have cloud cover but mostly sunshine for the coast, bay and inland areas. now, let's talk about that sunday because this is when you're going to notice those changes rolling through. but have no fear, sunday morning you'll start off pretty clear out there. it isn't until sunday evening into the late hours that we'll start to see those clouds really come in heavy, along with some moisture in the area. those temperatures will remain in the 50s, though. we'll keep that chance of rain for the coast, bay and inland areas not just for sunday night but also through monday morning. i want to show you your heavenly forecast because there's plenty of snow up there. so far right now, it looks like it will be perfect driving conditions. if you had plans to head up there this weekend, temperatures will be in the 40s. they still have plenty of snow up there. we'll get some sunshine, which means the road travel should be pretty good if you're headed anywhere near the sierra. pless share photos with me. i would love to share how the

there. we'll slow down that video, that same video actually captures a video of what appears to be a man hurling the rocks. this is video from dash cam on that car. this is sunday afternoon when it happened on interstate 680 near berryessa in san jose. the driver says since posting her video online, others are reporting similar things happening to them near that same location. >> there's some cases that people think they saw this guy and he did that before. >> this is also gotten the chp's attention. they're now investigating. they want a lot of help from anyone who might have been able to provide or be able to provide more information for them. 6:42. new details on a story we've been following for you for months. south bay leaders have shot down plans for a new catholic high school in morgan hill. san jose's diocese owns the land and wants to build the school, but for that to happen, it requires the city of morgan hill to first annex the land.

that's in order to allow the land to be within city limits to allow for city services. a santa clara county open states commission voted to deny that bid. happening today, the oakland a's start their new stadium pitch online in a unique effort to inform fans. the team is holding a facebook live event today with bay area planners and stadium designers. fans are encouraged to submit their questions ahead of time. the question and answers start at noon today. a look at all of this, still a lot to do ahead for them before those shovels hit the ground. the team really hopes to move into a gleaming new waterfront stadium near jack london square by the year 2023. and 6:43. new this morning. a top aide for senator kamela harris is in a new lawsuit. larry waddell has been a long-time staff member who served as director of law enforcement under harris when

she was state attorney general. now, as sacramento bee reports, wallace paid about $400,000 to settle a gender harassment claim during that time. he was accused by his former executive assistant in 2016. wallace later transitioned to work for harris as senate adviser in her sacramento office. he hasn't commented but a spokeswoman for senator harris wrote, we are unaware of the issue and take the accusations of harassment extremely serious. google ceo likely trying to make amends for missing a major senate hearing earlier this year. as we've discussed so many times, silicon valley suddenly realizing how poor its relationship is with washington. president trump tweeted insults at google several times. the ceo will meet with trump today along with the heads of redwood city's oracle and other companies.

the google ceo was supposed to testify to congress this week as well. it's been postponed because of the national day of mourning on wednesday. on other news, the senate teaming up to defy president trump. both parties, california's dianne feinstein and republican senator from south carolina, lindsey graham, have co-sponsored a senate resolution squarely blaming saudi prince mohammad bin salman for the death of a virginia journalist. president trump has said about mbs, well, maybe he did, maybe he didn't. that's a direct quote from the president. today's news is significant for a couple of reasons. one, you've got a bipartisan move in the senate against the president. democrats and republicans coming together. two, they came to this conclusion that mbs was involved after a briefing from the director of the cia. but a previous briefing from the secretary of state had let mbs off the hook, which means either

because we still have this system, we could see an increase in our swell into the afternoon. that means taller waves, northwesterly swell coming in pretty good, which means we could see breakers of 20 feet. keep an eye on that. right now, the temperature is 37 degrees in santa rosa. 46 for napa. 50 degrees for san jose. and your hour-by-hour outlook. we've still got those beautiful clouds that are still adorning the clouds right now. that cloud cover will linger for the next couple of hours through san rafael, clouds through san francisco and even portions of morgan hill and san jose. notice that cloud cover sticking around by 2:30, we'll still see clouds through santa cruz. it will be cloudy and muggy through morgan hill. by 5:00, look at the cloud cover that makes its exit. not only will the rain be making its exit, so will the clouds. that will make way for plenty of sunshine. not just today but also into tomorrow. microclimate highs for today

will be in the 50s. 58 degrees for san jose. we'll still get a couple of 60s. take a look at your east bay temperatures. 68 degrees for walnut creek. 59 for pittsburg. along the peninsula, 59 for san mateo. 59 for redwood city and upper 50s for the city. over the next seven days, sunshine plays in your friday through saturday. sunday we start off with sunny skies and then notice the p.m. rain. that means the rain will move in late sunday night into sunday morning. then we sort of clear out again by tuesday and wednesday. we've still got a little moisture trickling in thanks to another system that's expected to swoop in. this will also bring chances in the inland area sunday night into monday. for now, look at the beautiful three days we've got just up ahead. it's going to be a weekend to enjoy outdoors. mike, how are the roads? >> looking pretty good, vianey. we have a looter volume of traffic. overall, a couple of delays to report. the first one shows up on our travel time.
