found dead there. this is being called a homicide and the active scene is under way at beach street. there was a shooting around 1:00 this morning with shell casings seen outside a home there. we have a crew headed to the scene. we'll bring you a live report in five minutes. neighboring menlo park police are investigating a possible homicide. >> police responded to a home across from the menlo school on the border with atherton. officers found a woman dead inside that home. police say they located the suspect at the scene and the suspect is now in custody. police have still not how the woman died or even her identity. more police and security will be on campus at diablo high school. they were investigating threatening graffiti in the

the richmond district and he was recently among those on the front lines of the butte county wildfire. police in san francisco hopes home security video can help solve a deadly hit-and-run. look closely here. behind the parked vehicle you'll see someone emerge from a car and look down the street. this is on leavenworth and lower knob hill. the person gets back into their car and drives off. we covered it as breaking news yesterday here on "today in the bay." it happened at 3:00 in the morning. a 58-year-old woman was struck, later died. this year's wildfire season is not only california'sadliest. it's also the most costly. insurance claims are totaling more than $9 billion according to it the state commissioner. it includes the camp, the

headquarters. wall street is point towards a higher open today. stocked gained yesterday but dloesed off the highs of the session. the dow had been up as much as 845 points but ended up 157. traders are looking ahead to next week's federal reserve meeting. the fed is expected to raise interest rates for a fourth time this year, but the outlook for 2019 is still uncertain. on today's watch list reports on unemployment and import prices. toyota is recalling about 70,000 vehicles in north america with the majority here in the u.s. the problem is faulty air bag inflaters. the recall covers both toyota and lexus models including tundra. they were to replace inflaters by that kad da but hurl shrapne.

we'll be there around sunrise and quickly warm up. 10:00 we're at 50 degrees and 11:00, 54. you see the trend there. live look outside at christmas in the park in san jose, it will be one where you need a nice, warm jacket to start and the sunglasses because it will be a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine. we'll see our temperatures for the south bay reach as warm as 66 degrees in morgan hill, gilroy, 65. 64 in concord. oakland, 66. 63 in fremont. upper 50s for half moon bay and daly city, 663. we see a lot of low to mid-60s. we'll gradually see more clouds heading out to the next rain maker set to move into the north bay as early as tomorrow afternoon. as we get a look at what to expect with our friday forecast, we'll see some showers moving into the north bay. here's the timeline in time for

the evening commute and moving into ukiah, santa rosa shortly after that. looks like it stays in the north bay for friday night. i don't think the south bay will see any rain. saturday we're in between systems before a stronger ones dips in and brings us a chance of widespread rain. our rainfall totals may be doesn't for this round, especially the one moving in bit end of the weekend. sierra snow coming in as we move to next week. we have decent snowfall totals, possiblily two feet at higher elevations. the weekend not bad at all. we'll see a chance of showers. mike, the bay bridge is starting to clear up? >> it is. which is really weird unless you always watch our4:30 show.

streaming across the san mateo bridge. a my warning about a hidden danger at the pump. investigators say thieves are targeting gas stations in alameda county. >> the crime is getting a little more sophisticated. >> it's not your average criminal that's employing this type of a device. >> reporter: a device that looks like this. hayward police detective says they found the device here at this station in hayward on foothill boulevard and a few more hidden at pumps in hayward and other parts of alameda county. >> it's an electronic device placed inside the gas pump panel. a thief will remotely be able to access the credit card information from the device. >> reporter: they're doing that through bluetooth. thieves are getting inside the
